Hello, new to Linus forums, love the tube channel. So I'm upgrading my gaming rig's cpu (& and mobo since leaving amd cpu), and I really want not only something powerful but as future proofed as possible. With some newer games like Gears War 4, Ark Survial, Dying Light, etc. being more cpu intensive then other titles, is the i5 6600k still the best choice over the i7 6700k? And just to make this even easier or harder decision, I live near a microcenter and they have a GREAT walk in only deal right now for intel cpus, i7 6700k at $279.99 or i5 6600k at $189, and both come w $30 off any comp. mobo. As for the rest of my rig, I'm running a Asus R9 390 w 8gb Vram, ssd, and will be adding ddr4 prolly 2900ish mem with either new cpu I buy. Currently using a 60mhz 1080p display, but plan on upgrading to 4k within a year, and will prolly also upgrade my gpu in about a year (hence the future proof question, more to my coming upgrades then tech break throughs).
