  1. Hey guys! I bought a new laptop the HP Pavilion 15-CS1004NE Laptop – Core i7 1.8GHz 16GB 256GB 4GB Win10 15.6inch FHD Mineral Silver. It has a 256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD 2which i want to switch out for a 1tb SSD, what kind of ssd should I looks for in size and all. Please do help me out as I really don't understand much about laptops and ssd form factors. Thank you!
  2. Is it possible to upgrade the RAM on this laptop to 16GB? Also does this have quad channel on the TB3 or only dual channel?
  3. Canada, USD$1300, 2KG MAX, 6hours+, 13-15"(14" most preferable), min 12GB ram, quad core i7 8th gen, no need for GPU. Will use for programming, medium gaming, and work also must have TB3 port (for dual monitors and eGPU).
  4. Will be buying a ultra-book most-likely with a TB3 port and will buy and eGPU, a monitor. If you guys have any recomendations for eGPU, monitors, hard-drives, keyboards, mouse. Please do let me know. For the monitor I'd like something with thin bezels ( something I can add a second monitor to) for eGPU ( my gaming load will maximum be battle field 4 an high settings) keyboards and mouse (I've always used shitty ones so I'd like to upgrade but they don't have to make my wallet empty, so something decent and nice but not too over the top) (would be nice to have a multi-button mouse (like an extra 2-3 buttons)) harddrive (something good which will last for long around 500GB)
  5. I checked the specs and usually it's not mentioned but there is USB C so idk if it's the same thing also there is apparently TB2 wires so I don't know how to distinguish.
  6. Can someone please tell me which ones have TB3 capabilities, I will be using a dongle or will likely directly connect a monitor and egpu (and would like my laptop to be charged at the same time) ASUS VivoBook K570UD ASUS N580VD-DB74T VivoBook ASUS ZenBook UX430UA-DH74 ASUS ZenBook 13 UX331UA ASUS ZenBook UX430UN UltraBook ASUS ZenBook Ultra-Slim Laptop UX410UA-AS74 ASUS VivoBook N705UD-EH76 ASUS S510UN-EH76 VivoBook S ASUS ZenBook 13 UX331UA-DS71 Lenovo Laptop IdeaPad 530s 81EU000JUS Lenovo Ideapad 330 Dell XPS 9370 IdeaPad 730S (13”) Laptop Lenovo Ideapad 720S-13IKB Razer Blade Stealth 13.3" ASUS ZenBook 3 ASUS UX550GE-XB71T Zenbook Pro ASUSPRO P5440 Huawei MateBook X Pro Signature Edition
  7. Hey, I am going to go to uni and will buy new headphones, I am currently using a second hand bose headphones which imo aren't that bad, although idk the model of it and it's super worn out. But I want to buy a new set of headphones which are wireless, but can also be connected through wire and be used. My options atm are between Bose QuietComfort 35 (Series II), Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless, Sony WH1000XM3 , or New Microsoft Surface Headphones. Note that I am neither a video editor or a music producer who needs production level quality, although I'd like a set of good looking headphones, with good sound quality, decent battery life (12 hours), (possible to attach with wires as well) and something that will last for quite a while (approx 5 years minimum) If you guys have any other headphones which might be better and maybe even cheaper please do let me know, or if from any of these which one is the best please do give me reasons. Thank you for your time!
  8. no hard and fast rule with weight, I'm fine with anything that isn't a brick mostly but I'd prefer a lighter more elegant laptop (approx 2kgs). Also yeah non-upgrade-able works for me too.
  9. light weight and mid-level (6-8hours) battery life. Idm about the display much but uprgradable RAM would be nice
  10. So I'm gonna move for university and will be doing CS as my major. Also I'm a casual gamer, I've always had the dream of having dual monitors and all so needless to say I'll be doing that, but I want a nice sleek laptop which has pretty good specs. I've shortlisted a few below please do feel free to add any suggestions on if I should get any other laptop, or not get any of the laptops from my options below (also please do give reasons). I will be buying a external GPU so yes the laptop has to have a USB port c also choosing this eGPU is another day's work. My maximum budget is $1400 but I would like to stay under it so I may buy some decent peripherals also I'd prefer a medium screen (15.6") can be bigger or smaller. So these are my shortlists for now (in no particular order, numbering done so that it's easier to reference): Lenovo Ideapad 33015.6" HD TouchScreen, 8th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-8550U Processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 128GB SSD, Intel HD Graphics 620- ($1000) Lenovo Laptop IdeaPad 530s 81EU000JUS Intel Core i7 8th Gen 8550U (1.80 GHz) 8 GB Memory 256 GB SSD NVIDIA GeForce MX150 14.0- ($1475) ASUS ZenBook 13 UX331UA-DS71 Ultra-Slim Laptop 13.3" Full HD WideView Display, 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8550U Processor, 8 GB LPDDR3, 256 GB SSD ($1100) ASUS VivoBook S Intel Core i5-8250U Processor, 8 GB DDR4 RAM, 256 GB SSD ASUS S510UN-EH76 VivoBook S 15.6" Full HD Laptop, Intel Core i7-8550U, NVIDIA GeForce MX150, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD ($900) ASUS VivoBook Pro Thin & Light Laptop, 17.3" Full HD, Intel i7-8550U, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB M.2 SSD + 1TB HDD, GeForce GTX 1050 4GB ($920) ASUS ZenBook Ultra-Slim Laptop - 14” FHD IPS WideView Display, Intel Core i7-8550U CPU, 8GB DDR4, 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD, ($1200) ASUS ZenBook UX430UN UltraBook Laptop: 14" Matte NanoEdge FHD (1920x1080), 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8550U, 512GB SSD, 16GB RAM, NVIDIA MX150 Graphics ($1050) ASUS ZenBook 13 UX331UA Ultra-Slim Laptop 13.3” Full HD WideView display, 8th gen Intel Core i7-8550U Processor, 8GB LPDDR3, 256GB SSD ($880) ASUS ZenBook 14 Thin and Light Laptop - 14”Full HD WideView, 8th gen Core i7-8550U Processor, 16GB DDR3, 512GB SSD ($1300) ASUS N580VD-DB74T VivoBook Pro 15 FHD Touchscreen Laptop, Intel Core i7, NVIDIA GeForce Gaming GTX 1050 4GB, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, backlit keyboard ($1040)
  11. Thank you for this, been looking for something exactly like this, This though goes completely over my head as I'm not the most tech savy person.
  12. oh yeah I guess I'll most likely need a TB3 due to the fact i'll be relying on a eGPU
  13. Don't know what TB3 is ....... and what would you recommend me in terms of what I'd require, I've mentioned what kind of usage I'll do.
  14. Battery life up-to 6-8 hours should be fine and weight should be somewhat light, hopefully that isn't hard to find as I'm fine with lower GPU requirements on the laptop itself. (but yeah light would be perfect and medium light weight should be fine)
  15. I will buy all of this from Canada and will either be in the Ontario or British Colombia side. As for budget for laptop if possible upto 1000CAD is perfect, and as for graphics card for now I already have a 1050Ti will use that for a year till I buy another one so another 500CAD for a mid ranged monitor and a EGPU case.
