  1. Has there been any real news about Atrix, GameStops in-house gaming peripherals? I stopped into a GameStop for the first time in a few years and saw this brand all over the store, but the internet coverage is super limited. A few videos, and a seeming self-publishes article claiming they're "one of the most premium accessories brands in the market." https://www.fortunato.work/gamestop/
  2. i'm running VMware workstation 15.5 and i would like to migrate one of my machines to physical hardware for a HTPC that will be located in a different room in my house. Are there any tools for doing this?
  3. this is part of a tracert to google. the last 3 are the hops to my actual isp which is 1600km away in osaka. 1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 2 4 ms 3 ms 2 ms 3 2 ms 2 ms 2 ms 4 3 ms 4 ms 5 ms 5 4 ms 3 ms 3 ms 6 20 ms 20 ms 20 ms 7 32 ms 31 ms 31 ms 8 34 ms 38 ms 33 ms 9 29 ms 28 ms 28 ms 10 28 ms 30 ms 28 ms
  4. tried that already, the best i could get is "your in a congested area and wont be able to resolve the issue until more fiber lines are installed" but the connection isn't bad. gaming is just bad.
  5. Recently moved to japan, and got hooked up with (Gig) fiber internet. my connection is very good and can download and upload blazing fast. my connection to ISP is great as with ~32ms latency to the main hub (1200mi away). The problem occurs when i try to game. When connecting to FF14 i will drop connection during any instanced event (dungeons, raids etc...). And in Destiny2 i can't even log into the asia servers, however i can log into the america and europe servers just fine with much higher latency. does anyone have any idea whats occuring and what I can do to resolve this?
  6. Server can be big or small. i have extra rack space, or it can be a tower. It must be separate from the work domain. the configuration i'm going for is a SAN. but i have never configure one from scratch, so i don't know if i will need a server to act as the domain controller and a separate server to handle all of the storage. there will be 1 48 port cisco router to act as the backbone, 8 - 8 port switches spanning ~ 3000ft, 30+ WAP's. low ball budget is 10,000. I am not able to outsource to an service provider because the network will not have any form of internet connectivity.
  7. So i'm trying to build a network for my place of work to support upwards of 100 people at a time. The network is meant for recreation, primarily for media. I'm looking for recommendations on a server(s) to support large data transfer and large storage capability.
  8. I own the Flip4 and i can honestly say that it is nothing short of fantastic. Solid Sound, solid build, amazing battery life and with IPX7 "waterproofing" its a really good buy for $60-$80 USD. IPX7 is kind of misleading labeling it as waterproof but if you do your research you should be just fine, IPX7 is defined as "immersion of up to 1 meter" so if you want to take it in the shower with you, then by all means, do it. But if you think you can just drop it in the 5' deep pool your experience may vary. With JBL's smartphone app, you can connect multiple JBL speakers together to get a more stereo sound (or just have a smart phone with the native capability.)
  9. so i considered using the port range, but there isn't an option to set it like 8766;27015 - 27016 unless i set 2 different ranges but i don't know if that would cause a conflict
  10. So i have this Linksys EA8300 and i'm trying to set up port forwarding for a "the forest" dedicated server that i have running on my windows server 15 box. everything is set up properly on the server side but the network side i'm not too sure about because i have only ever dealt with the command line on switches/routers, everything on this router is UI based. I have already verified the Server's firewall, and the routers firewall are passing data through those ports. any suggestions? These ports are based off the default configuration: "The available command lines parameters are: -serverip <ip> // Must be set to the server ip on the local network -serversteamport <port> // Set the steam server port, default is 8766 -servergameport <port> // Set the server game port, default is 27015 -serverqueryport <port> // Set the server game port, default is 27016"
  11. Didn't get it. Was at work and tried too late.. 20 minutes too late apparently, because i submitted it at 1:20pm. still got a 8086k though.
  12. with my current board i have 4x8gb(of the 8 slots) and the i7-6800k so the increase is very minute i guess. and the amd trade starts at 1pm tomorrow. so hopefully i'll be able to get in on it.
  13. So i found out today that i won the I7-8086k and want opinions. should i keep the 8086 and build a pretty sweet system, or go with AMD and trade that for a Thread Ripper 1950x. And while i know the 1950x is a superior chip as far a numbers go. how is the support with Ryzen, I don't really follow AMD that much.
