  1. I would agree with you! I manage a number of social media pages and will be managing a website here shortly. It looks like I am going to stick with the original game plan of dual 1440p monitors. Thank you everyone for your input!
  2. If I wanted to have surround gaming; could I go into the settings and lower the resolution of the 4k monitor to match the other monitor?
  3. Hello, In a previous post I asked about what graphics card would best suit my needs. Here is the link to the post: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/117695-picking-the-right-graphics-card/ Right now I have one 2560x1440 monitor and the plan was to add a second monitor at the same resolution. I now have my eye on Asus's new 4k offering that has make owning a 4k monitor more affordable. Is it possible to run a 4k monitor alongside my current monitor? In other words; is it possible to run two monitors at different screen resolutions off a single graphics card? If this is so; is the recommendation (EVGA GTX 770), that was made in my previous question, still appropriate?
  4. I am planning on using both monitors on the Windows for when I play Flight Simulator X and when I need a second monitor. So Synergy isn't ideal but is a possibility. I will keep that in mind.
  5. Hello, I have a Windows 8 computer that I built about 6 months ago and will be getting a Macbook Pro soon. I am looking to get a new keyboard and mouse that will be used with both of them. I am not heavy into gaming although I enjoy Microsoft Flight Simulator X. I am more into typing and will soon be doing video and photo editing. So comfort is high on my list along with being a bit budget friendly. Although if I'm impressed enough I would spend a little extra. I am leaning toward wired but wireless would also be fine. I am thinking of using this to switch keyboard and mouse between computers. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FEM3OKM/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2WOB02D2FPID7&coliid=I12SZTW9IG15KP I currently have one monitor and in the future will get a second. I don't think I need a KVM switch because my monitor supports DVI and Display Port. So I'd switch between computers using the monitor imput selector. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for the help.
  6. The design of the card is in keeping with the theme of the gold and black of my build. I am leaning toward this. Thanks for advising me...
  7. I would like to get some advice as to what graphics card(s) I should get for my PC. I have a budget of about $300 give or take $75. So far I have one monitor and have plans on adding one more for a total of two. I am mainly interesting in flight simulation and watching movies. I currently have Flight Simulator X and would like to have a graphics card that is compatible with FSX. Here is a link to the specs of my computer: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2aHRS I have since added a couple of hard drives. I had thought about using a GTX770 but I saw the review of the Asus GTX750ti posted by Linus today. What would be better in my situation. Two GTX750ti? One GTX770? Or a totally different card? This is my first build so if I could get some pointers as to the brand of card would be best; that would be great. I would like some advice....
  8. No such thing as good quality, quiet LED fans (I think only Silverstone may have them.) Get good non-LED quiet fans and use LED strips for the case if you want a lighting effect. LED fans are cheesy as well. What would be a good quality, non LED fan? Something that is quiet?
  9. Hi, I'm planning on building a computer. My goal for the build is to be able to browse the web, play Flight Simulator X, play X Planes, occasional video editing, and be able to run multiple operating systems like Linux and Window 8 and possibly 7. I would like to put some emphasis on quiet operation. I am located in the USA. I would like to spend less than $1500; not including peripherals and monitors. Graphics / monitors: I am planning on getting a Asus PB278Q with a resolution of 2560x1440. I hope to add a second monitor and a graphics card later. For now relying on onboard graphics. I was thinking NVIDIA for the graphics card (open to suggestions). Case: I am thinking a Corsair 750D Power Supply: Corsair RM series (I need help sizing) Motherboard: Asus Z87 Pro http://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z87PRO Processor: Intel I5 4670K Cooling: Corsair watercooling (open to suggestions). I would like to have fans that are quiet operating and have a selection of LED colors. Storage: I'm thinking a SSD of 120GB or 250GB in size. What brand and model do you suggest? In the future I would add an additional SSD(s) for other operating system installs and a HD(s). Memory: I'm thinking Corsair Vengence (but open to suggestions). OS: As long as Flight Simulator X and X Planes a compatible with Windows 8; I would get windows 8. What version would you suggest? I am not interested in overclocking beyond what the automated overclocking feature Asus provides. I am trying to stick to a Black and Gold theme. Thanks in advance for everyones help.
