  1. Thought I'd give an update, I took off the AIO to check for plastic, there wasn't any so I replaced the thermal compound and installed the AIO again. My temperatures still fluctuate like that graph I shared, but my CPU temperatures are so much better than before, >30C idle and ~50C gaming, while before it was up to 70C idle and 90C gaming. I think that there was too much thermal compound before, also he installed the AIO pump so that it was vertical, which meant that the tubes leading to the radiator were pretty stretched out. Now the tubes have a bit of slack, so I think that helped. Maybe the AIO heatsink wasn't making enough contact before, but whatever the reason it's working really well now, thanks for your help.
  2. Thanks, I thought maybe the cooler I got was lousy. I will check tomorrow if he installed incorrectly, I could imagine he left plastic on the heatsink, that would definitely explain it.
  3. I only recently dusted my computer with compressed air, and I had a computer guy come a couple of days ago to install a brand new cooler. The cooler is performing worse than the previous stock intel one. I did have ~20 google chrome tabs open and was watching a youtube video so not exactly idle, but I still think the temps are too high which is why I'm thinking of getting a new cooler. Here are all my system specs: CPU: Intel Core i7 7700 Motherboard: MSI B250M Bazooka Motherboard Graphics: MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Gaming X 8GB Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury HX424C15FB2K2/16 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 Black Solid State Drive: Kingston SSDNow UV400 240GB SSD Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 2TB ST2000DM006 Power Supply: Be Quiet! Pure Power 9 500W Power Supply Case: SilverStone Precision Series PS14 ATX Case Cooler: Coolermaster Seidon 240P AIO
  4. I started another thread today about unreasonably high cpu temps, below are idle temperatures. I'm just curious as to why the temps keep jumping up then cooling down again, is this normal? Do cpus generally range ~10-15 degrees like this? I think I will buy a new cooler, not too sure how else to keep temps down.
  5. The range of the voltage seems to be form .9 to 1.2V according to cpu-z
  6. You can see this program (CAM) says my cpu was hitting 100C playing Just Cause 3, but I think it is off by at least 10C. Speedfan says the temp was ~90C playing Just Cause 3 and max ~85 playing league...... I really don't like these temps, and this is with the coolermaster aio cooler
  7. I had somebody install it for me, I know they cleaned off the old thermal compound and added the included CoolerMaster stuff. I don't see what he could've done wrong
  8. I need help on a cooling solution for my PC. I recently bought a CoolerMaster Seidon 240P AIO cooler as I thought it would outperform my stock intel cooler. I'm really disappointed with how it's doing, while playing league of legends temperatures easily get to 85C, and for the first time I have had FPS lag in game. I was playing Just Cause 3 with ~20 chrome tabs open, and temps got to over 90C (this is according to SpeedFan). Previously I had a stock intel cpu cooler (named FoxConn?), and it performed way better, but I still got temps of up to 90C playing GTA5 at max settings with chrome tabs open, and GTA5 did occasionally freeze. It really sucks that the AIO isn't working for me, I think it will be hard to resell. I still want to buy another cooler instead of defaulting back to the intel cooler. I'm thinking of getting either an NZXT Kraken 240mm aio, a Corsair H100i 240mm aio, or a Noctua NH-D15. I just really don't want to waste anymore money on a lousy cooler, I'm definitely not overclocking my cpu and still getting terrible temps, which cooler would work best for me? Thanks, also here are my PC specs. CPU: Intel Core i7 7700 Motherboard: MSI B250M Bazooka Motherboard Graphics: MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Gaming X 8GB Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury HX424C15FB2K2/16 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 Black Solid State Drive: Kingston SSDNow UV400 240GB SSD Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 2TB ST2000DM006 Power Supply: Be Quiet! Pure Power 9 500W Power Supply Case: SilverStone Precision Series PS14 ATX Case Cooler: Coolermaster Seidon 240P AIO
  9. Thanks, I was a little confused about the different section for cooling and radiator. I might go for the corsair H100i 240mm aio now. It has good warranty
  10. Will my case be compatible with a 240mm aio? I want to buy it so that a friend can install it for me, I don't want accidentally buy an aio that doesn't fit in my case
  11. So 240mm would fit in the case no problems? Also that would leave me with only the 1 case fan
  12. Cpu is intel i7 7700, don't plan on overclocking, atm it runs quite hot. I'm going to wait for the aio before I play games like gta V again, where it got as hot as 90 C.
  13. I was wanting to install an aio water cooler in this case: https://www.pccasegear.com/products/37412/silverstone-precision-series-ps14-atx-tower-case I only have one case fan in the back of the case, I was thinking of putting in a 120mm aio cooler (corsair h80i) in the front along with another 120mm case fan at the front, will this work? Would a 240mm water cooler be better? i have a MSI B250M Bazooka Motherboard, I just want to check that the cooler will fit before I buy it. Thanks
  14. Thanks, I got a warning from the program I was using to monitor cpu and gpu temp so I was a little worried. I guess I can continue to crank up the settings on my games
  15. When playing Battlefield 4 on ultra settings, 1080p and 144fps my i7 7700 got to ~82 C. Is it safe at this temp for an hour or two, or should I reduce the settings I'm running the game at? If 82 C is ok, at what temp should i get worried and reduce the load on the cpu? I know the T junction is 100 C but other than that I don't have a clue. Also I only have one front case fan, will installing another one in the rear do much?
