  1. I need your support. I built my own PC back in 2016 (first time builder) with the following Specs: ASUS Maximus VIII Hero/Alpha Intel Z170 DDR4 S-ATA 600 ATX Motherboard ASUS STRIX-GTX1070-O8G-Gaming Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 Graphics Card Corsair CMU16GX4M2C3200C16B Vengeance 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 3200 MHz Intel Core I5-6600K Processor The issue I face is I could really do with updating my CPU, as Xplane 11 is not that great and battlefield 4 fine BF5 however 5 is too bad to even play. I originally wanted to go for the I7 9700k, however, discovered that my motherboard will only accept the i7 7700k. I don't really want to have to replace my motherboard if I don't have to as I want to keep the costs down. All I do on my PC is play FPS such as Battlefield 4, and Fifa and Xplane 11(possibly with VR in the future) Therefore my question is, do I just opt for the 7700k and live with that for the next year or so? ( i.e the 7700k will it improve vastly the performance in the games I currently have and be capable of supporting future updates in the next year or so) Or Do I bite the bullet and invest in both a new ATX motherboard? if so which is the best value (that includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, m.2?) which is the best processor that will give me the right performance for my limited use that will also have a reasonable longevity? Regards James
  2. Building my first gaming PC and don't intend to use for anything but gaming. Not sure which CPU to choose as there seems to conflicting views on the web. I am not bound by a budget for the CPU, but at the same time don't want to pay for more than i need. Whether it makes any difference or not, i do intend to VR game at some point in the future and therefore want to ensure i future proof myself as much as i can.
  3. its currently on amazon for £95 (see link below) key thing for me is i am keen to get it right first time and not have to buy another PSU later down the line, so would appreciate advice on what you feel the market leaders are? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CP-9020078-UK-Builder-CS750M-Semi-Modular/dp/B00GMIPO46/ref=sr_1_20?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1481979843&sr=1-20
  4. Ok, so i am new to the PC thing traditionally a Mac user (no boos please) and have decided to take on a project to build a Gaming PC mainly for Flight Sim, but also for a bit of Battlefield. With the intention to upgrade over time. The advice i seek is in regards to matching a PSU to a tower, and in addition to understand if the PSU i intend to purchase is suitable for now and the future. My intention is to get the Corsair Obsidian 750D Airflow Edition tower, purely on the basis i intend to expand over time. The PSU i am looking to purchase is the Corsair 750W CS750M (Based mainly on price), therefore my questions are: 1) Is the PSU a good match for the 750D tower? 2) Will this PSU support Dual NVIDIA 1070 in SLI? (the intention is to have one to begin with, and then add a second at some point in the future)
