  1. Oh, damn. I thought my CPU was a good one lol. Do you think combining a 4070 with my CPU would be a problem for games like Starfield, Destiny, Path of Exile? I'm not really into crazy ultra high end gaming, I just want a smooth experience overall. And thanks I'll definitely start looking for a new PSU as well. Any suggestions come to mind?
  2. My bad. The most famous ones are Kabum, Pichau and TeraByte. We unfortunately don't have access to the most famous ones in the US.
  3. Budget (including currency): R$ 5.000 Country: Brazil Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly gaming As the title says, I'm going to finally update my GPU. My main concerns are: compatibility with the rest of the components and case-compatibility. I've been using a GTX 1070 from Gigabyte for like 5 years or more and whatever I can get will definitely be an update — so I'm not particularly worried about getting the best GPU out there, I just want to be able to play modern games in 60fps at 1080p. This is my current setup: CPU: Intel Core i5 11600K (@3.9GHz) Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition Motherboard: TUF Gaming B560M-Plus Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX, 16GB (2x8GB), 2400MHz, DDR4 GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 GigaByte PSU: XFX 550W 80Plus Gold Case: Thermaltake H34 mid tower I have an SSD and a HD as well but that's it. So, I'm ready to spend a little more to get something that will last more 5 years. I'm also thinking it's possible I might need to update my PSU as well, right? Modern GPUs might require more power. I was thinking maybe a 4070 would be cool. Any thoughts or suggestions? Anything I should avoid at all costs?
  4. Those are quite expensive indeed but it's good to know they would fit my build. What other motherboard + CPU combo would you recommend?
  5. So, it has been a while since I build my very first custom PC and now I want to upgrade it. A small disclaimer: I'm not a hardcore gamer and I'm ok with not having top-notch hardware. This is my current build: Case: Thermaltake H34 CPU: Intel Core i5-6400 Cooler: T4 Motherboard: B150m Memory: HyperX DDR4 8GB (2x) GPU: GTX 1070 Giga Byte G1 Gamming 8GB PSU: XFX 650W TS 80 Gold I'm leaning towards updating my CPU first and possibly get more RAM. I would only get a new motherboard if that's ultimately necessary, otherwise, I would probably keep this one as motherboards are pricey in Brazil. Which CPU would be a good fit for this build? Should I get 2 more HyperX DDR4 8GB? I'm terrified of compatibility issues. By the way, I've asked specifically about CPU and memory but I'm open to suggestions! :) Thanks in advance.
  6. I actually didn't. I don't know how to properly do this kind of thing and I'm trying to find a more basic way to solve this. I'm afraid that I might do something irreversible and I won't be able to fix that on my own.
  7. I have no idea what to do in the bios or what to look for to solve this problem. I had to google what cmos mean. D: Total noob here
  8. I just took these pictures: If I'm not mistaken it says the CPU's clock is around 3GHz, right? If that is the case, then the low FPS can't be created by CPU bottleneck. It must be something else, right? -- EDIT: Just tried to play GTA and FPS is still low and now I'm having some occasional freezing and a huge delay on texture loading. Plus I believe it took the game a lot longer to load.
  9. I'll try that! Thanks for the advice. I'll update the post asap. I talked to some people who had very similar builds (GTX 1070 + LG29UM68) and they didn't had such problems. I believe I can manage to make it 75Hz without an overclocking software. But if I'm mistaken, which one would you recommend?
  10. I got a new PC yesterday. It has the following specs: i5 6440 B150M PRO4S from Asrock 16GB HyperX 2400Mhz T4 Cooler 1TB 120GB SSD GTX 1070 G1 Gaming 8GB XFX TS 650W 80+ Gold LG29UM68 (2560x1080 @ 60Hz) Windows 10 Pro I downloaded the driver from Geforce Experience and downloaded BF1. Other drivers are already updated as far I'm concerned. I just installed every driver from Asrock to my mobo. I used both MSI Afterburner and Fraps to get some info of FPS and GPU/CPU usage and temperature. First thing I noticed was the fact that I was having some massive stuttering. The game was absolutely unplayable even with Fraps showing ~60~70FPS on Ultra settings. I do not have pictures but Afterburner was showing GPU = 60C and ~50% usage around 1900Mhz and CPU = 40C and ~100% usage. I disabled the Xbox DVR but nothing changed. Checked energy settings on Windows and it is set to high performance. After that played a few more matches with the annoying stuttering and then suddenly it stopped and the game was running super smooth. Literally in the middle of the match the lag stopped for no reason. Player for around 2h without any lag or stuttering. It was fine. Then I installed GTA V and used the settings recommended by Geforce Experience. Everything high or very high. It was around 70fps but I could feel some stuttering. Nothing big but it was there. Afterburning kept showing very similar temperatures and usage for both GPU and CPU. And then suddenly it started lagging hard on that very first mission you need to race your friend. Today I played both games again and I had a huge drop on FPS. I feel little to no stuttering but according to Fraps BF1 is around 40fps and so is GTA V. But today my GPU is always on 100%. Temperatures are basically the same. I tried Middle-Earth Shadow of Mordor and it runs perfectly around 80fps with no screen tearing, ghosting or stuttering. Pictures I took after ~1hr of BF1: Some more extra info I got: I just played a little bit of GTA V. Core clock was locked on 1924 Mhz. FPS was close to ~50 and GPU usage was never 100%, it was more like ~80% but it really changed with time. Sometimes FPS goes to ~70 but it also goes to 30 from time to time. No massive lag, it was pretty smooth imo. I also tried Quantum Break and I had 80+FPS and no lag at all on ultra. But core clock was exactly 1911 Mhz. CPU around 40C at 100% usage and GPU around 59C at 80 to 90% usage. Do you guys have any idea of what could possibly be happening here? Is this CPU bottleneck the GPU because it can't achieve higher clocks? How can I fix this low clock? Idk if this is useful or not but a couple of pictures with some info:
  11. I'll build my computer in the Thermaltake Versa H34 case and I wonder if the fact that the XFX 650W TS 80 Gold is non-modular will cause me problems with cable management or even air flow. I don't know if this is relevant but I'll be using a Micro-ATX motherboard and a GTX 1070 Strix. Thanks in advance!

  13. Exactly. Patriotism is just how people who lead the country convince you to kill dozens of people and put your life on the line to defend their interests. It is just a mechanism of control. Like religion. It saves people the trouble of thinking for themselves (which is hard and painful a lot of times) while give them really strong emotional backup and the feeling of being part of something big.
  14. Most people aren't even really affected by these things. Lots of people can't see the difference but they lie on forums to look cool. I mean, if you can afford it then why not? But you can't that won't stop you from having a good time gaming.
