  1. I’ve tried multiple installs of windows and that didn’t work, I’ve not tried Linux before
  2. I’m making a friend her first pc, works fine when it boots, gets into windows and then the gpu stops displaying once either windows downloads the default drivers or I try. I have tried my 1080ti and AMD 580 it works on post and windows at the start I have also tried multiple bios’ x99 deluxe original 5820k this was meant to be a Christmas gift but I’m out of ideas now
  3. Did a CMOS clear, updated and downgraded the bios to same result. XMP on or off didn't change anything either
  4. Yes. It displays up until I install the graphics drivers
  5. So, I bought the following system and I am reusing my ASUS X99 deluxe Original and 5820k. PC posts, can install windows etc and then when I try and install the AMD drivers it's either not detecting the GPU even though I can see it's working, or it blackscreens and nothing happens. I can still look at BIOS just not windows. Any ideas? James
  6. Turns out it can actually fit a 140 in the back and so
  7. Yeah it does. I don't have 3x120 to test but i checked for photos and it does.
  8. Looked at the mounting brackets and roughly fitted the one cheap 120mm i have. Does fit 3x120
  9. So opinion, I have an h700i and two Noctua industrial 140mm fans currently and I am going to buy some more. My case can take 2x 140 or 3 x 120 in the top and front What fan setup would you go with? (Noctua D15 cooling a 3700x and a 1080ti so air pls)
  10. https://www.gear4music.com/Recording-and-Computers/Behringer-MICROHD-HD400-Hum-Destroyer/6RR?origin=product-ads&gclid=CjwKCAjw36DpBRAYEiwAmVVDMKShv9dus_xYc9WI2vhK163uhFgKu4dgtU6UT499ugvB1m2cM2xO9xoCkawQAvD_BwE This is what fixed it for me in the end. The houses electrics seem to be massively over the top due to it being made by an electrician (the guy I used). Only thing we could think of was interference between the PC and interface as there's so much power coming from mine.
  11. Correct, top spec MacBook minus i9
  12. I’m working through my bachelor degree in music currently and one of my friends who is an insane composer and arranger is having an issue and I’d like to get some more ideas into ways of fixing it. in short, most people don’t have access to things such as an orchestra so they’ll use sounds from software and soundbanks. We both own some but he’s invested in far more, some such as Hans Zimmer strings involves 190gb of audio. So if you imagine how large a full orchestra is it takes a while to load and isn’t the fastest to respond even with an SSD. I then looked into m.2 to thunderbolt for a faster solution which would allow around 1.3gbs compared to an external ssd at 500mb ish. Anyway weird idea part, I have an external gpu enclosure in my house and that’s pcie, so would a pcie to m.2 adapter work fine with it? I was looking at thunderbolt to m.2 and they seem to be around £160+ so as a free alternative I’m curious. Unfortunately I’m far to busy currently to test this myself. Also if anyone has other ideas into faster external storage which doesn’t break the bank I’d be appreciative James
  13. Update, the lil guy survived. Left PC off at the mains and it's ALIVEEEEEEEEE!
  14. I'll give the gpu a test in a new system come morning. I always do clean driver installs and remove overclock but hopefully it will work.
  15. Yeah, the gpu doesn't show anything at all, no signal both with dp and hdmi. Monitor works fine with other computer. Pc also works, I waited a bit and tried logging in and it worked based on my stream deck loading and audio playing.
  16. Basically, updated driver, ran the 3d mark Ray tracing benchmark and a little bit after my 1080ti seems to have bricked it... Anyone else heard of something similar with this update?
  17. lava lamps run really hot, 60c + I think. So we're pointing out he's cutting off airflow and making the air he's trying to cool his pc with noticeably warmer
  18. his argument is it only changed his cinibench heat by 2c whilst he won't run any extended stress tests over time also yes that's a lava lamp Anyone able to list reasons why this is stupid?
  19. So, I have a focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and an AT 2035. I can detect myself working on the direct monitor, and on windows, and with audacity I can record myself. Whenever I try and use discord or skype (two i've tested) it locks up my mic and won't let me speak or even work at all. I will make a quick video explaining and attach in comments. help pls
  20. Ah right, unfortunately, I can't move them any further away from me so I guess I will just have to live with it
  21. I bought two and both of them have the same issue. If I turn the volume on the back to 0 it won't happen but any higher you can hear it always at the same level.
  22. I had a weird issue a while ago with my other Pc which I use for gaming. I recently bought new monitors for my music setup though (JBL 305s) and they have this constant hum whenever they're on regardless if they're plugged into an interface or anything. Any ideas? James 20180930_173509.mp4
