  1. Hello, I am planning to get a new laptop for web development work. I’ve been a Windows laptop user for all my life but I want to dip my foot into Apple laptop and see what’s up. I’ve seen reviews and just the battery life alone intrigues me. I have a budget around $1800-$1950(USD). Here’s some context, where I am situated these are some of the options that I am wanting to get. These are all brand new prices Macbook Pro 14” M1 Pro base model = 1750$ Macbook Pro 14” M1 Pro (10c-16c, 1TB SSD, 16gb RAM) = 1820$ Macbook Pro 14” M2 Pro base model = 1920$ Personally I would love to get the upgraded M1 Pro with 1TB of storage. The SSD of both base and updated model is faster than the M2 by quite a lot and with the bigger capacity I can use the device for longer without having to store data outside via external means. However, I am not sure how that battery would hold up even though it is brand new from 2021. Is the battery degrade overtime inside the sealed box? I am curious to know how other people’s 2021 Macbook Pro 14” are holding up, especially the battery. What do you think of those 3 options? Which one should I get? Thanks in advance and have a great day!
  2. @Nathanpete Will my laptop with the spec that mentioned above able to utilized the full potential of the said monitor? I play mostly MOBA and some FPS like CSGO, and Valorant.
  3. I thought HMDI doesn't support 2K 144hz. 15.6" screen is my laptop screen, the one that I plan to get is 27" inch
  4. Hello, I am planning to get a gaming monitor and I found this Asus TUF Gaming Monitor (TUF GAMING VG27AQL1A). My laptop is a couple of years old now, it is a MSI gaming notebook. Here's the spec of the laptop: GP62MVR 7RF Leopard Pro CPU: Intel Core i7-7700HQ RAM: 16GB Screen resolution: 15.6″, FHD 1920 x 1080 GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 3GB GDDR5 Interface: 1 x HDMI 1 x mini Display Port Can my laptop run this monitor at 2K 144hz? (or even with G-Sync or Adaptive Sync)? I fully understand that this is a bit overkill for my laptop, but I think it's good to future proof. Cheers!
  5. I can't find it here. WD SSD is hard to find, ADATA, kingston and samsung are much easier to find
  6. @boggy77 @Downkey Based on your recommendation, I think I could make use of these instead: SSD: KINGSTON A2000 (500gb = $79) PSU: MSI MPG A650GF ( 80+ Gold) = 99$
  7. The reason why I picked that motherboard and CPU combo is because of I want room for upgrade and some feature that are nice to have like (wifi 6), as for the CPU it is because the 5000 series is waay kinda expensive in where i'm from (around $400). For PSU, I don't have many options. I see some MSI PSU 650W 80+ Gold around 100$. I don't know if it's any good because from what I know, MSI is not known for there PSU.
  8. Ahhh sorry, I totally forgot to include the speed and capacity. 8gb (x2) kit, and 3200mhz
  9. Hello, I've never built a PC before and from some researching, I've come up with this spec. Does this make sense? What adjustment can I make? For graphics cards, it's just for placeholder for now because the price is too damn high. I would love a 3060Ti or 3070. It also worth noting that I will be upgrading this machine later on. Thank you in advance! 10. It is a MSI GP62MVR 7RF Leopard Pro (GTX 1060). Also, the "distortion" only happens when i tilted the screen downward. It doesn't happen when the screen is in a fixed angle.
  11. Here's what i am talking about when i said it's "distort"
  12. I'm quite sure that there's no dead/stuck pixels or cracked. By distortion i mean, the screen would show a brief horizontal lines and then when i tilted it a bit lower or back (like when your open your laptop), the screen start to work again like normal. Also, it is very frequent that that happens. I'll try that shinning the light on the screen technique next time the screen goes black when i boot.
  13. Hello, I have a problem with my MSI notebook display. I cannot figure out whether the problem caused by my screen cable or my gpu. The problem is that sometime when i boot up my laptop the screen does not show anything just black screen; however, the system is able to boot up properly. I can confirm this because when i plugged it to another monitor via mini-display port, everything work as usually except the screen on my laptop is black. This happens very frequent and when it does, and i happen to be at home i could use the extended monitor to login, shut my computer down, close the hinge down, wait a few minutes, press the power button and hopefully it does not go black again. OR i would guess typing my password while the screen is black and then Alt + F4 then Enter to try and shut down the laptop which is not fun. Moreover, when it actually booted with a working screen when i try to bend the screen down ( like when you try to close the laptop) the screen would sometime goes distorted for a brief moment then work again. My assumption is the ribbon cable of my laptop screen is loosen or about to break or worse case scenario i have a bad gpu. I hope someone would help me pinpoint the problem and hopefully it is fixable.
  14. Thank guys, i'll try my best not to break anything. Have a nice day!
  15. My laptop currently running on a 7200rpm mechanical drive.
