  1. Ok guys i thought it will be a good idea to update the post with the result so i installed my friends 8GB stick and 1st time it didn't boot after pushing the ram a bit hard into the slot it booted. As soon as i finished booting i opened the cpu-z and checked about the duel channel situation and the result is in below screenshot As you can see it says it runs on duel channel, i have two 4GB sticks in the slot 2 and 4 and the 8GB stick in the slot 3. as i hoped the old stick turned out to be the exact same ram without the heat spreader even it has the same timing, i think that might be the reason for this result Anyway thanks everyone who replied
  2. yep the ram is working(my friend just bought some new sticks that's why hes giving it to me) and it shouldn't have any problem booting so according to what i heard dual channel doesn't affect gaming performance right ? so i will be ok in that side as well
  3. Thanks a lot for the explanation and thanks for the clarification so i should go ahead and install the 8GB stick right ? and nothing will happen (negatively) to my PCs performance right ?
  4. I dnt think my mobo has that opton since its a gigabyte b150M,both rams are same speed.i think the timing also the same.according to what i searched and geard ita just the heat sink which is different. since mu mobo only supports 2133mhz all of them will run at 2133mhz. im kind of new to this so please can you explain what you mean by JEDEC standard ?
  5. Yeah those temps are pretty much normal for a hot day i would say if the temps peak at 70c it will be ok.
  6. Thanks for the reply. thats what i heard also but wasnt sure.i think i saw a video from linus saying u can use duel channel + a single memory stick. and yes i have already installed 4GB sticks in a single channel.so there will be no issue right ? Even the other ram is kind of old ?
  7. Thanks for the quick reply so will it affect my gaming and pc performance ? I mean if i install this ?
  8. Hello guys... im using 8GB (2*4GB) 2400Mhz ram kit atm and one of my friends have a extra 8GB (2400mhz) single stick which i can use.all sticks are from the same brand(Team elite+) same speed, 4gb modules are new with new heat sinks but the 8gb module is old. 8GB kit(2*4GB) - 8 GB stick - I have some concerns that i have to clarify if i install this 8gig stick 1.will it stop my 2*4GB sticks running on duel channel ? 2.will it be incompatible with my 2*4GB sticks since its an old one ?
  9. Yeah but i fear that it will break the RAM and if i removed them some how will i be able to get them back in again
  10. Hello Folks.. I have GA-B150M-D3H (rev. 1.0) and my problem is, i installed 2 ram cards in two slots when bought the mobo and they locked into place perfectly after a little while to install my VGA i pushed in the two ram locks in the bottom(closed the lock) Now i bought a new RAM but i cant get the bottom ram locks to open i tried really hard to the point that i feared i will break it but i cant get the bottom ram locks to open. This is same for the all 4 ram slots including the slot the rams are already installed.surprising part is i can get the top ram locks easily open.I know that some MOBOs have bottom locks fixed but in my case when i bought it they were open im the one who pushed them in. Do any one else have the problem ? Any help will be highly appreciated Thanks in advance.
  11. Yeah look is fine by me just wanted to know since my mobo is so small will the pci slots line up with the pci brackets of the case.
  12. Hello guys... so im going to buy a corsair air 740 after going through lot of cases and reviews and till i get my new motherboard on my hand(in about 2 months) im going to use my Gigabyte B150M-D3H(http://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-B150M-D3H-rev-10#ov) so this might be a silly question but just want to clear my mind. my problem is will my motherboard's pci slot align perfectly with the case pci brackets and will everything fit in perfectly ?
  13. Hello folks.. As the topic says any one have experience with both pads or know any thing about the difference or similarity (about surface) between the two pads.
  14. Hello folks this might e a dumb question but please be kind enough to give me an answer. so my problem is when i turn on my PC i hear a water flowing noise from my radiator area, its not that loud but when i move my ear close to it i cant hear it but after like 3 or 4 seconds it goes away. is this normal or should i be concerned ? thanks in advance
