  1. I also make my cables. I guess I should have been more specific....... I was meaning the quality of the cable itself.
  2. I have a variety of equipment in my rack (Router,Switch,Firewall etc.) BUT My cables looks like dog crap. Not because I don't understand cable management but literally the cable quality is junk. What is everyone using Cable wise? RJ45 connectors as well? I need a nice visually appealing setup. Thanks for the help.
  3. Well "Personally" I have been building desktops for over 8 years and am bored. Watercooling is no longer exciting etc. I was kinda testing the water with this because I don't need the computer anymore. If something would go wrong its not a big deal. SO modifying isn't a huge concern of mine. I am however interested in building laptops. I have never done this, and I cant seem to find a lot of information on it. So the idea was to build the old mac into a very useable computer again. Just possibly with non apple components haha
  4. Hello everyone. I have a very unique question that I would love to know the answer to. I have a 2007 MacBook, I absolutely love this thing. We all know by now that these can honestly no longer be used because they are so old. They don't receive updates, etc. BUT can you redo the computer? I am meaning like new Motherboard etc? It doesn't even have to be Apple anymore..... I wouldn't mind it being a windows computer. I just want to use it because I have always enjoyed this specific MacBook. The keys are great, etc. Any help would be amazing. Thank you all
  5. I've restarted probably 20 times haha. Nothing but blue screen. Not even a bios option
  6. So I start my computer up today and this is what I see. Not a blue screen of death but just a blue screen. When I click anything is goes completely blue then after about 30 seconds it goes back to the original screen......? Any ideas?
  7. So the router is working great and the Wifi is now a AP. The issue im running into is for instance, my media can no longer be shared on my TV downstairs from my Desktop and I cant connect to my wireless Printer now either? Pretty much the computer is directly connect to the router and because of this my computer can access anything thats attached to my wifi. How do i change this?
  8. Awesome I really appreciate the help. Any suggestions on what software to use since putty wont be available to me?
  9. Currently trying to configure my Cisco 2950 24 port switch to work in my home network. I can't seem to be able to actually figure out how to connect it to my Macbook. On the back there is a Console port which is just an ethernet cable, I plug my MacBook into this port and have no idea where to go from here. I know Cisco commands but I don't know how to do this with a MacBook as I have only used Putty on the PC. What software should I use for mac and what do I need to do to be able to type commands? Thank you in advance for the help.
  10. Awesome thanks a lot guys. I was having some issues last night with router duplicating IPs but I switched it to AP mode and its all good. Thanks again!
  11. Currently trying to setup my router to work with my home network. I am using the stock modem from the ISP and the ASUS RT-N66U for my Router/WIFI. I have purchased an UBIQUITI Edgerouter and would like to make this my router and turn the ASUS into an AP. Should I assign them all static IPs? Including the Router? or can I DHCP on the Router and then static everything else?
  12. Whats your recommendation for storage?
