  1. This week, my PC has been freezing at least once a day. It starts with a program like file explorer or Google Chrome being unresponsive. Sometimes it's a simple right-click on the taskbar. There have been two instances of it freezing while HWInfo64 is loading up. Then it just spreads throughout every program until my whole desktop freezes. I can move the mouse pointer freely, but I can't access the task manager, no matter how many ctrl-alt-deletes I do. I can't click on windows and programs, either. I just end up turning off my system through the power button. It hasn't happened while playing video games (I hope it doesn't, ever). It only happens when I'm working on MS Word or browsing the internet. I've searched a lot of online threads to no avail. Here are my specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 GPU: Palit GTX 1070 8 GB Super Jetstream RAM: TeamGroup Elite 8 GB (2x4 GB) 2400 MHz MB: Asrock F4tality AB350 Gaming K4 HDD: Toshiba DT01ACA100 1TB PSU: Seasonic S12II 520W OS: Windows 10 Professional 64-bit I'm suspecting my hard drive since it's been struggling to keep up recently. Crystaldiskinfo shows that has a good health status. It could also be my GPU since I only upgraded it a few days ago. Again, it hasn't crashed during gaming sessions or Heaven/Superposition benchmarks. Temperatures are chilling, too. I seldom reach 50 degrees Celsius on my CPU while working. And my GPU stays at around 38 to 43 degrees. It never reaches 70 under full gaming load. Crossing my fingers that this is just a software or driver issue. How do I fix this?
  2. Thanks for all your responses. Will get the card tomorrow and provide updates.
  3. I'm relieved. ; _ ; Thank you for your fast reply!
  4. I watched this! I can't believe they got it running again lol. Well, if it can hold out with consistently great performance for two to three years, then it's still a good deal to me.
  5. Yup! Testing it as soon as I get home. But I've also read horror stories that the repercussions of ESD show up months or years after it happens. Do you think there's any weight in those claims? I'm just really worried because even though I got a good deal, I'm still spending a lot for this card. As such, I want to use it for as long as I can. Thanks for your reply!
  6. Hi! I'm meeting someone to buy their used Palit GTX 1070 Super Jetstream (it's a good deal) tomorrow. However, when they sent me a picture of their unit, it was laid flat down (PCB side down) on what looked like a cotton sheet wrapped on a table. While this model does have a backplate, it has a cutout showing its bare PCB (image below). Should I be worried about any electrostatic discharge damage from the cotton sheet? Or am I just being paranoid? Thanks in advance for your responses.
  7. LOL looks like my case window needs some routine cleaning. Thanks!
  8. My PC is working great so far. No blue screens and no crashes. However, I recently noticed that my motherboard (Asrock Fatal1ity AB350 Gaming K4) has a few black spots on it these past few days. They don't look like water. And if they were, they would've likely evaporated by now. They look more like grease, ink, or paint. And they're scattered throughout different parts of the board. And they seem to be coming from under or within the board. I also noticed that two of the screw holes were surrounded by this mystery grease. What could they be, and can they damage my system? Please see the image below for reference and let me know if you need more detailed images of it. Thank you!
  9. Alright! Will stop worrying unless my system actually becomes unstable. Thanks again!
  10. Hi, @seon123, @yaboistar, @greenhorn, and @Master Disaster! Thanks again for replying to my topic. I had a new discovery today: the 12v rail is fluctuating rapidly during gaming. I took the video below with Apex Legends in the background. I noticed that it was changing between .255 to 350, and sometimes to .400. I saw somewhere that this rapid fluctuation isn't good for your hardware. Should I be worried? Thanks!
  11. Thank you so much for the quick replies, guys! I'm planning on getting a brand spankin' new graphics card soon and I was worried that I might need a new PSU if this one's acting wonky. I'll definitely upgrade the S12II in the future. Will wait for more replies before I close this thread. Thanks again!
  12. Hi! My build has been running for two weeks without noticeable problems. However, checking HWinfo shows that some of my voltages are a bit high, particularly the 12v and 3v. The CPU VCore seems to be low at times as well. I know that software and BIOS readings aren't entirely accurate, but they're all I have right now. Might buy a PSU tester or a multimeter soon. Is there anything to be worried about? Please see the picture of the readings below: Here are my specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 GPU: Asus Expedition GTX 1050 2G RAM: 2 x 4 GB Team Group Elite 2400 mHz PSU: Seasonic S12II 520w All are in their stock settings, with no overclocks whatsoever. P.S. HWInfo also shows that one of my fans hit 0 RPM at one point, but I'm not sure if it's accurate. Thanks in advance for your replies!
  13. Will definitely have an electrician look at it. I think we have a grounding pole on our front yard. I have no idea why it's not being utilized, though.
