  1. I had to counter the build guide linus made with be quiet! crap. Because it was sponsored by them
  2. *If looking for pcpartpicker link skip to the end* (PSU Not included in pcpartpicker. Link below) Here I will be explaining on why I picked each of these parts and why I think they are more bang for the buck than what linus had done. Processor - Ryzen 5 1400 I decided over this cause it has cheaper motherboards without needing any of that bios update crap. Also I like this more than the i5's cause it has more threads. CPU Cooler - be quiet! - Shadow Rock Slim 67.8 CFM Rifle Bearing CPU Cooler Cheap be quiet! cooler compatible with Ryzen 5, I don't recommend getting a seperate cooler for this since the motherboard is not for overclocking and the wraith cooler does amazing at temp speeds anyways. But I just had to add a be quiet! cooler cause the video was sponsored by the company. Motherboard - MSI A320M GAMING PRO MOTHERBOARD Cheap motherboard on the AM4 chipset. Can be substituted for MSI A320M GRENADE. Memory - G.Skill Aegis 1x16gb or 2x8gb DDR4-2133 This is personal preference. If you are looking to add another ram stick in the future then get the 1x16gb kit. But if 16gb is enough for you then get the 2x8gb kit so you can set up your memory in dual channel. Storage - Seagate - Barracuda 1tb 3.5" 7200RPM HDD and Kingston SSDNOW UV400 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive. Fast enough ssd for a boot drive and a good reliable but cheap 1tb hard drive. Nothing else to say. Video Card/Graphics Card - Gigabyte - GEFORCE GTX 1070 8gb Windforce OC VIDEO CARD This videocard is one of the big reasons I can say this build is more bang for the buck than the build Linus made. Cause I have a more powerful GPU, You can also substitute this to a different aftermarket cooler if you want to add a little extra cash, It's all personal preference. Case - be quiet! Pure Base 600 w/ window (Black/Orange) ATX MID TOWER Still an awesome case, but I prefer others at this pricepoint but this is a sponsored build so I had to go with a be quiet! brand. The room for cable management and building is good. It's great for beginners, Power Supply - be quiet! Pure Power 10 CM 600W https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA68V5NC2060&ignorebbr=1 I just used the power supply linus used in the video.Since it was a be quiet! one. I also can't find it in pcpartpicker so here is the link Price: $990.2 pcpartpicker link: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KsLpnn You don't have to directly follow this build guide if you don't want to like change the case for example etc. This is just to battle the build guide that linus had made. Cause I strongly disagree with the guide he made, I strongly do not recommend beginners and first time builders to follow that guide either cause you can get better at the same pricepoint. But if you disagree with a few things in this build guide then change it if you will. One of the great things about PCMR is you can make it however you want it. Thanks for reading everyone! Hope you like my build guide
  3. Oh.... but I am on a tight budget..
  4. I plan to do that secret unlocking thing on getting the 8gb from a 4gb model
  5. GTX 970 for $175 worth?? or push for 480 4gb for $199 ?? Should I go for the cheaper 970 3.5gb and get that extra cash for a game instead or go for the 480 4gb and get all that sweet performance
  6. Gonna buy a used i5 for cheap. I was wondering will these motherboards be compatible without a bios update?? Thanks in advance https://pcx.com.ph/product/msi-h81m-p33-s1150-motherboard/ https://pcx.com.ph/product/asus-h81m-d-s1150-motherboard/
  7. I also found a deal for a r9 280x recently rma'ed a bit cheaper by $10. should I bite it? It seems to be an aftermarket cooler. while the r9 290 is a reference one.
