I'm trying to reset my bios to version 3.0 (default) but no matter what I try it remains 3.5 I went into bios clicked on load optimized default, cleared cmos by removing battery, cleared cmos with jumper but it doesn't change just remains 3.5. Any other things I can try? or is there a reason it remains 3.5? The reason i'm doing it is because ever since I updated I've been getting tons of problems with my CPU

RAM DDR4 8x2gb 2400ghz CPU cooler: H100i GTX (yes that she overkill I know)

So I built this PC around two months ago, everything seemed fine but yesterday when I tried turning on my PC everything that was connected to the mobo isn't working but every fan and Led that is connected to my PSU works, I tried removing all cables and reinstalling, switch ram sticks, trying ram one at a time, clearing CMOS nothing seems to work.. it once or twice randomly started working again but after an hour of use it goes back to the way it is.. the motherboard has a small red led beside the where it says "CPU" indicating that there is an error with the CPU but I still can't be sure whether it's the cpu or mobo.. I don't have another system to test this on, what should I do send both the cpu and mobo or is there a way to identify whether it's the cpu or mobo Motherboard: H110i PRO AC CPU: i5 6500 PSU: EVGA supernova 550 G2 (everything is less then two months old)

lol it worked but after about 5 hours of use it went back to how it is now and I tried to reset cmos again but I think it has nothing to do with that anymore it just randomly sometimes starts working and sometimes doesnt.. Oh well still got warranty

Tried replacing the Ram and it worked but turned off again I think its neither the CMOS or Ram problem but something else

How do I identify whether if its the motherboard or the CPU? and no I haven't tried updating or overclocking

I bought this motherboard 2 months ago which has caused me nothing but problems and now it stopped working.. I threw away the box and receipt too.. the motherboard is msi h100i pro ac I tried fixing the problem and fixed it but after 5 hours it stopped working again and ive been trying to fix it with the same method but it doesnt work if you want to follow this discussion its here

Stopped working again tried to clear CMOS but it doesnt seem to do anything anymore

I did it with a screw driver instead of the cap and it worked THANKS! @zanthros@NinJake for helping
