  1. Nothing went wrong... all is finely good with this rig...! did not get as high cinebench as I thought tho only jumped 35 points from 1332 to 1367 maybe if I take the CPU to 4.1 I can break 1400 ?
  2. Ok time for a quick update on this long and drug out build ... I have ordered NEW Ram RGB even ,still went with the 3000Mhz just a different Cas. instead of 15 I went with the 16 Cas. It should come in tomorrow around noonish that should do the trick. Then I can get started on the looks of this rig. I had put some of the 120 MM RGB fans in it but as soon as I turned on the power the fans came on the lights worked fine... for a split second and the RGB went out and have not come back on no matter what I have tried. The fans work but the lights are a no show. So RMA the fans as well ... Now I have to say this and this is just what I have been through myself the last 5 different components I have ordered from corsair I have had something wrong with them in some way and have had to RMA the parts the fans will make number 6 ??? what the heck is going on with corsair ??? never had these kinds of issues with any of there parts. I would like to know if anyone else has had these kinds of issues with them or any other company in the last few months? At any rate I got the AIO installed gr8 temps looks gr8 ... now the case wants to buzzzzzzz ??? lol really ??? I'll track down the buzz and snuff it out some how but damn ??? After the new Ram is in place that should take the Cinebench score to a smoking 1350 to a 1400 if all goes as planed right now with the bum ram I have and it running at 2400Mhz i am still hitting 1332 on cinebench so its on the right track. I have a few more days off so I will get to game for a few days and see how it all is under load for real. CPU is finely at 4.0 I can get 4.2 stable and cool but I think its a little too much so I just set 4.0 and let it ride . Under full load with games running and a few tabs open and a LTT YouTube video running in the back ground the temps are around 52c -65c and I have not seen them higher ...yet. The GPU never hits 60c even with the overclock of 150 on the core and 350 on the Mem. I have only seen it hit 60c once for just a few seconds and that was that. EVGA 1050TI SSC no power plug on this one just 75w from the pcie and thats that . GR8 little card for the panel I am running 1080p 60Hz thats it no fuss no muss . I really can't say enough good things about this little card I am really shocked at what this little card can do for a 160.00 price point . WoW ! as we speak I am running at 2152 on the core and 3507 on the mem. This little card the temps are under 60c ( fans on auto 35% ) min. frame rate is a solid 48 FPS on high settings in Heaven Valley and very close to the same in Heaven " with the Dragon " so yeah after all is said and done the price is just under 800.00 as it is. Adding RGB this and that will be maybe 50.00 more so for 850.00ish I have ROG B-350 gaming F MoBo , Ryzen 5 1600 , 16GB Corsair 3000Mhz Ram well the new Ram is different but you get the point , EVGA 1050 Ti SSC , CoolerMaster 240 lite AIO , EVGA 650 BQ simi Mod PSU all tucked into a very nice CoolerMaster Master Box 5 white with the black front panel . As it comes together finely !!! its a sharp little rig I'll get some pic's up sometime after the new ram is in and doing as it should ... if it does ? lol I have had lots of help tracking down the issues with this rig and want to say thanks for the help from all of you that offered. Thanks to all Pic's to follow ... less something else goes wrong haha !
  3. So far , so good ! doing much better now at 2666 after the Dec. 2017 Asus MoBo bios update. Kinda feels like the ram is being trained a little at the time if that makes any since to some of you. AIO came this morning... so yeah you know what time it is ... hehe I do have a few questions " IKR...what this time Jaxx " 240 master liquid lite just two fans I ordered two of the new corsair RGB fans " OOOOooo pretty ... lol " little story there too I ordered the SP120 RGB's (20.00 ea.) not what Egg sent me... Egg sent me the new Corsair LL120's and a 35.00 dollar gift card too for HelloFresh any way. Question : if I am putting these 4 fans in push pull and I only have one fan splitter will I need another one or is there some other way to pull this off ? Other than ordering a fan splitter online where would could I buy one of these in a brick and mortar ? Also the RGB connector can I use a fan splitter for this and just plug both the RGB into one port on the MoBo ? (strix ROG B-350 gaming F using AURA )
  4. The Ram is finely stable 2400 up to 2666 ... just will not do anything else no matter what. I am sorry I only get to really dive into this issue when time off allows so the time in between post is ...well it's my boss's fault . any who ... going to roll with it. Just got a cooler master 240 rad AIO with some " light up fans OOOOoooo pretty " temps & noise are way down ( load 62ish) with the fan profile kinda up there but still no loader than it was at the start 32 - 36 just sitting pretty good for a 40.00 AIO still on sale on the egg too. Now lets talk about AURA ??? wtf??? I mean really after all the issues I have had at this point ... really ??? yeah !@#! if I get the dang thing to sync up I'll post a shot... think white H500P with 120 mm fans in the front and a small spot on the strix B-350 MoBo at the bottom . I did move the the GPU down a slot so it could be seen better. Going to do a RX580 8GB with a ram combo sometime in the near. For now It's turned out to be a 1080P little beast Med. to high settings on a 60Hrz panel ( 27"HP ) Total coast so far the whole rig win 10 and all 796.00$ U.S. Cinebench score is about the same @ 2400Mhz as it is @ 2666 I get a score from 1292 - 1306 @ 3.8 on the CPU so plenty of room to grow I did notice running 2933 the score was very close to the same as 2666 just a few points difference thats why i decided to let it ride the in game performance well first of all it's running em no worries and running em well so when I brake down and go for 4.0 or better there is still some room to be had here. GPU is the only thing holding back this rig ...at this point. I got a lot of help from the community here and thanks to all that helped this one had stumped in this small one stop light town with no AM4 DDR4 test bench anywhere in sight it was a part swap till we found it . The mem test tell us there were no errors was killing me till the RMA of the CPU was done that sealed the deal it was a toss up at that point the mem controller on the board or in the cpu or the ram itself well you know what I mean " backspace is hard " lol so is spelling lol and thinking makes my head hurt ... time to GAME for a change no more working on it ! again THANKS for the help !!! and a big thanks to AMD for not sucking at the RMA as well as FedX and their shipping skills made that whole deal painless. Who knows maybe I will put a Vega Frontier in it so I can really feel like a beta tester ... any ways thanks all peace
  5. lol Not to wish bad luck on myself but I have swapped out the whole computer at this point so if the Ram is not the issue what in Blazes could it be ???
  6. Thanks for the reply ... this one has made my hair gray trying to track this down. So the Ram is next to go back ...who in heck knows how long that will take but I will post a update when the Ram fairy blesses me with a new kit. " corsair LPX vengeance " so back to the laptop for a time Thanks for the all help all that have responded.
  7. Alright ? @ 2133 all is fine and good @ 2400 I am still able to run games . This is done at factory settings just changing the Ram freq. If I set the DOCP @ 2933 all the compute is fine and good but the video " games , benchmarks and the like " just will not run ? Also in Cenebench the openGL GPU benchmark will try to run but will hang at the start or freeze somewhere in the test. I have not been able to complete a single run not once. Heaven and Heaven valley run and run well at 2133 & 2400 , 2933 will not happen . I have changed the MoBo , the GPU , the CPU all that is left is the PSU and the RAM I have had the PSU tested and it's fine.... so the RAM here's the deal there I have run test after test and they all say the ram is fine??? yeah WTF??? yes everything is updated and installed and has been a fresh install from top to bottom more than once. Could I be overlooking something ??? help at this point I am way lost ???
  8. Ok CPU is back and installed RMA was very painless ... brand new CPU & cooler ... it's still doing the same shit... ? ok now RMA the Ram ? ffs I have changed everything on the rig now ... I need a win ffs
  9. Screw it !!! CPU is in route for RMA after a 2week of madness I finely got the time to tear down the rig and ship it. witch was pretty painless so Nov. 24, 17 ship date let's see how long AMD drag this out . I am on the east coast " N.C. " and it's going to Florida so should be a quick trip day or two at most I'm thinking a day to inspect it and a day to ship and two days to make it back . We'll see .
  10. I have swapped the MoBo already as for the lightning strikes this is a totally different sys the lightning strike was the reason I started the build . I have also swapped the gpu and the psu . New data today tho ... the new update from ASUS has done something good... lol I am now for the first time stable above 2133 but still not stable @ 2933 it's running now at 2400 but all is right with the world. It's running benchmarks "gpu" as well as the harder games to run just fine . I did lose the timings some but I had done that many time already .... now I'm really lost. this is the last weekend I get to test it and pick either the Ram or the CPU RMA or both but the down time ...
  11. My Ram check on the mem test is showing no errors so nothing wrong with the Ram ? Running just one stick of the Ram system runs fine , Both sticks it crashes only in games or benchmark programs . I switched the ram sticks out on the on channel and one of the Ram sticks the system will not boot. Remember I am getting no errors on the mem test ??? was going to swap the ram just have not got the chance as of yet? Is there anything else that can cause this other than the Mem controller in the cpu ???
  12. The PSU is the one component I have not tested ? I mean it's a EVGA 650w simi mod PSU could it be bad ??? I have looked to see if the socket in the wall was stable and yeah 120v I wonder if it could be dropping and peaking. The whole reason I am building this rig is a Lightning strike 3x in 4 months ... does not strike twice in the same place my ass ??? we think it can in through the cable line to same one my rig is pulling ethernet from as we speak . thing is the damn computer runs well good cinebench scores just will not run a game at 2933 for shit and heaven benchmark crashes just like the games do . I'm fukin lost with this one. before anyone ask yes there all updated ... lol less I forgot some or windows has not updated it's self ... it says it's up to date but you all know how that goes.
  13. First a little back story. Started this build in mid June/2017 had all the parts by July 4th. Parts list: Ryzen 5 1600 stock cooler , MSI B350 Tomahawk , Corsair LPX Ram ( CMK16GX4M2B000C15) , EVGA 650w PSU , EVGA GTX 1050Ti SSC, Kingston 120 SSD, Seagate 1 TB HDD, CoolerMaster Master Box 5 white black front panel 3 120mm fans . Finished the build and off the bat memory issues the mem. would not clock over 2133 all games where glitchie jumpy and would crash to black screen or desktop and some time blue screen or hard lock the system. After a Bios update I was able to get the mem. @ 2933 but with only one stick of the ram would it run at 2933 the crashing was still going on with both sticks of ram less I was running at 2133 or 2933 with one stick. ??? I then replaced the MoBo with a STRIX B-350 gaming- F witch is the current build and still having the issues. Swapped the GPU with a old SC 760 I had and still the same issue. I have run Mem. test and there are no errors on the RAM so I am left with something in the CPU after all driver updates and two clean installs. I have started the RMA with AMD just earlier today 10/31/17. I'm going to give updates as I get them. Anyone have any clue what this issue is feel free to let me know I am not tearing down the rig till late Wed. this week. I was also not sure where to post this so I just started a new thread here in the build log. For more info on the back story see ( This makes no since at all and Starting over with a real MotherBoard ) Let's see how smooth this RMA goes for an average Joe , so far tech support has been very helpful . I have tried to run Adia 64 stability test and it will not run for more that 30 sec. and stop the test " hardware failure " no clue what is going on. As I square this away I will continue with the build log... lol thx for the all help .
  14. Bios update was the first thing I did !!! 902 on the strix B350 board .
  15. Not going to believe this ...! Brand new MoBo and still having issues . I am able to run both Dimms but only @ 2133Mhz. and there is a update of a driver or software I have not identified as of yet that will start the whole thing crashing all over again. Aida 64 test ... it will not run it " hardware failure " also says something about the timing of the GPU being to low and if I want it to fix it. I said yes and crash town started all over again up to that point it would run everything I threw at and run it well ... but the ram is stuck @ 2133. I have since done a clean install and am running for now. I'm pretty sure the issue is in the ram now but not 100% could still be the CPU. I'm lost at this point . I live in a small town so I think I am the only one on the AM4 platform here so no one to swap out with and test with. With my luck I have a 50 50 chance of being 100% wrong...?
