I sold my 3Gb GPU, what next - 4gb, 6gb or 8gb?
Tandaralandara replied to Tandaralandara's topic in Graphics Cards
Don't start again So are these 20% fater than 480 4gb? because that's the price premium over here -

All beasts sure but I'm really fine with 1080p and 60fps so PAscal or Polaris is the way to go now -

6gb is enough but apparently dx12 titles are VRAM hungry + AMD performs better in new APIs.. argh! yeah price will decide in this one during the next a couple of days if I get 480 4gb, can sell it away in a few months. Thanks for help citizens of Linuslandia -

I don't know what GPU/VRAM requirements for 2017 titles but I will grab whichever comes across on some extra discount.. since card aesthetics also matter (white, black or orange heatsinks/LEDs) so I will keep my eyes on PC stores for a day or two.. -

@1080p 60mhz like to try all kind of games but mostly Dirt Rally, F1, Black Ops, Farcry, Hitman And I want bang of the buck, no money for gtx1070 unless I find a second hand one. Not interested in Fury. EDIT again sorry so yeah LEDs would be nice bonus since finally got a case with the fcken window 1060 6gb is just so much more expensive than 480 4gb.. -

Very good question indeed when looking benchmark results; Nvidia does win in 80% of titles until NOW but then I found this update benchmark after AMD got their shit together and released ReLive driver-software package -
Is the 480 4g any bit an upgrade from 1060 3g? is 50-60 euros/bucks too much premium for additional VRAM amount but 1Ghz slower VRAM speed? AMD does have much more texture cores (=cuda cores), right?

What is best GTX series graphic card for 200 euro budget?
Tandaralandara replied to sw0gger3's topic in Graphics Cards
200eur gives you 1060 3GB or RX 480 4GB look around, don't buy last gen 970 -
Turbo on constantly with B150 ?
Tandaralandara replied to Tandaralandara's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Yeah that's actually awesome feature for cheap B150 boards at least to keep a non-k CPU on its max turbo speed. Was looking for some sweet combos like i5 6400 + B150 motherboard..is quite a capable system for 200-250 bucks atm -

Turbo on constantly with B150 ?
Tandaralandara replied to Tandaralandara's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Really that easy?? Can't find any relevant photo B150 with MSI click bios 5.. -
Is it possible to keep i5-6400 or 6500 at their max turbo frequency with this board? MSI B150M MORTAR ARCTIC I know multiplier is possible to set to the turbo digits in haswell B85 boards so locked CPU could always run at max allowed frequency

I7-6700k and what gpu for Solidworks?
Tandaralandara replied to Tandaralandara's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
All good information thanks. I see choosing CPU is no issue.. should move this thread to Graphics section I'm sorry I can't update you what GPU this friend of mine is going to choose at the end but he said now he does gaming too so won't go for Quadro etc. route but rather GTX or RX card.. non-tech savvy people are sometimes difficult to get advised when they don't know themselves what they are going to do with a computer -
I7-6700k and what gpu for Solidworks?
Tandaralandara replied to Tandaralandara's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
got it! because one friend was also suggesting 6600k.. but will go for 6700k to be on the safe side and has very good price at the moment. Not so huge projects in question, on two screens, so consumer grade GPU will be fine I guess. Found this and was like "so ugly so expensive.. is there any aftermarket coolers?" https://www.caseking.de/en/pny-quadro-k2200-4096-mb-gddr5-2x-dp-1x-dvi-gcpn-018.html ATM 6700k rig costs 590$ and 5820k rig 830$ without GPU over here; have to think between these two then, thanks for help all! 225$ http://altex.ro/placa-video-msi-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060-armor-3g-ocv1-3gb-gddr5-192bit-gtx-1060-armor-3g-ocv1 293$ http://altex.ro/placa-video-sapphire-amd-radeon-rx-480-nitro-oc-8gb-gddr5-256bit-11260-07-20g -
I7-6700k and what gpu for Solidworks?
Tandaralandara replied to Tandaralandara's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Yeah this software loves cores and threads as well. Sure that CPU power is never enough in this type of job but gotta put some limit on budget. Right now could get 6700k for 250 bucks..and either gtx1060 or rx480 in the same price range. Gotta search then if there are any 6 or 8 cores available for similar price range, probably Xeons too (x99 boards not so cheap hmm) I don't know anything about those business side gpu quattro etc. so if someone can shed some light are those worth money and where to buy them from (Europe only) please
