  1. I'll try it out. Do you have any experience with untangled? I heard it is no longer free but people have also recommended it
  2. I am running 2.6.0. Is that the version that has the problem?
  3. We both have our own accounts. About a year 1/2 ago when I had a normal router there was no problem playing the game. Open nat and all that jazz
  4. I second this. Some routers have individual port settings where you can limit the rate to 10/100 which seems to be what you are getting now. Another way to check this is to grab a laptop and a short jumper cable and plug directly into the router and see what speed you are getting with that. Try the same port and a different port. that will eliminate the longer run and the computer. as variables.
  5. Hey everyone, I am currently running PFSense virtualized as my home router. I love PFSense as it offers a ton of great features and has allowed me to segment my network from some services I host. The big problem I have run into is that me and my brother are unable to play games together at the same time. Went to play BO3 with him and a friend the other day and we both had strict NAT. I scoured YouTube and Reddit and found a workaround to get one computer to have moderate NAT. The problem is that after my brother was logged in and connected, I was unable to connect to the BO3 online services at all. My best guess is that it was trying to use the same port. So that brings me to where I am now. I need an alternative to PFsense that still allows me to create segmented networks and VLANs without having all of the issues with UPnP and gaming. I was thinking of a Ubiquiti Edgerouter X but wanted to get opinions on software as I already have a hardware setup I like. I am open to any suggestions or If you have gotten PFSense to cooperate I am down to fix the config on that and keep it. Thanks for your input!
  6. I would recommend updating your graphics driver if you haven't already and your OS. I know Nvidia has some tight integrations with games and although it doesn't seem like the likely cause it doesn't hurt. when you install the drivers make sure to select custom install and check the box for clean install so it uninstalls and reinstalls of the driver files from scratch. As far as updating the OS, windows is windows so you never know. If you are more advanced, I know you can look at event manager and see what was going on and if there were any errors or warnings when it occurred before you turned off the computer. Hope this helps a little
  7. Please see my second topic posting where the issue of not being able to install windows was solved:
  8. Ok So I don't know which of these steps ended up fixing the problem but here is how i got the computer running again and windows to install: 1: I removed the M.2 SSD From the computer and installed it into a different computer. I then formatted the drive and transferred a file onto it to see if the drive itself was functional. 2: After confirming that the drive worked i reinstalled it into the computer. I then Installed ubuntu as an OS to ensure the SATA controller on the motherboard was functioning properly. I installed ubuntu with UEFI without having a single issue. 3: I then Went and re-flashed my BIOS with the latest update just in case it had something to do with it. 4: I redownloaded the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft, Formatted the USB drive with quick format unchecked to do a full format and finally created a bootable flashdrive with windows 10 After selecting the UEFI version of the flash drive from the boot menu and finally windows installed successfully. I hope this helps anyone in the future. This was defiantly a hard one but i finally have a working computer and thank god i use backblaze to backup my data or it would almost all be gone from the C drive.
  9. Thanks for the thorough answer! I'll give these a try and keep this thread updated!
  10. Thanks for the input! I can see the drive when installing windows it just doesn't let me install windows 10 on it. I do have an evo m.2 drive. Since the MBR corrupted i wonder if the drive got bricked.
  11. Thanks for the reply. Sorry to be unclear, The computer was running windows 10 But i set it up when windows 11 came out so that it would meet all of the requirements
  12. Hey everyone, A few days ago my computer gave me a blue screen error on startup which, after some research, turns out to be a corrupted boot. So since i had everything backed up to backblaze I'm thinking well this sucks but isn't a total loss. I go to reinstall windows and it won't let me install to my M.2 drive. I was able to delete and format the drive but i get an error saying that windows can nit be installed on this partition. So basically I am looking for guidance on my next steps. I recently made my computer able to run windows 11 by enabling my TPM chip and UEFI. I had secure boot enabled but disabled it for this situation to try and reinstall windows. I'm really looking for any guidance you all can give me. I'm going to get a hold of backblaze to get my data shipped to me but i need this computer to be running again and I can't get windows installed. **Final part, I am running storage spaces with two 3 TB HDD in Raid 1. Will I loose that raid array? just want to figure out how to get that back online when i get windows installed. Thank you all for any guidance!
  13. Hello everyone, So I had been away for a few days and when I got back I got the error message on my main PC: An unexpected I/O error has occurred File: \Windows\system32\winload.efi errorcode 0xc00000e9 If I try enter recovery it doesn't work. and says I need to put in a recovery media. So i make a windows 10 recovery usb and when I try to boot to the USB the bios splash screen looks weird and like broken up then the screen goes "windows blue" but I can't see any of the recovery or install options. If I press enter it flashes but i don't see anything on the screen. If i press ESC it takes me to the bios. I tried plugging in a new screen to see if it solved the weirdness but no dice. I just find it so weird that i can't even get into recovery off of a install USB. Also, if i don't boot from the USB the screen looks normal but i get that blue screen error message. Any advice on how to get this to recovery would be greatly appreciated! -Chris
  14. ah yea was wondering why i couldn't get it to connect. Unfortunately because of the isp i don't think port forwarding is working. it show connected on my phone and green on the mac but cant go to the ip address of the cameras. back to the drawing board i guess.
  15. Ok awesome i'll take a look at wireGuard. you don't by any chance has some good reference material for that split tunnel do you?
