  1. I've already done done that, but apparently because of privacy rules all of their information is protected and not public by default
  2. Theres a domain that i want to buy thats already owned by someone else. I did a whois check, but all of their information is "redacted for privacy". There is no email address that I can find to contact them on. I've thought about hiring a domain broker to help me from sites like godaddy, but they charge you quite a bit of money just for the service regardless of whether they get the domain or not + 10% commission, and they also ask you to offer a minimum of $200 on the domain. Are there any domain brokers that don't charge you anything if the deal doesn't go through? any other domain brokers that you recommend in general? and is there anyway i can try to contact the owner of the domain myself? Also please educate me. How do these domain brokers contact the domain owner when all their information is private and not accessible?
  3. If I do decide to ditch the idea of guest network throughout the house, would it be possible to change the password of all my access points at the same time?
  4. Hey all, I have a fairly basic networking setup in my house. I have my main router on the ground floor that connects to a switch which then connects to all the different access points in our house. My house is made of concrete because of which i have an access point in every room; all these access points have a different SSID, "a's room","b's room" etc. I've looked into a mesh network but all of them seem a bit expensive at the moment. Is there anyway i could use the existing access points as a wired wifi repeater? and I don't mean giving them all the same SSID. Every hotel I've been to has one wifi network that covers the entire hotel with multiple access points in different locations, how do they do it? Is it possible to do something like that at a private residence? Also on my main router I have guest access, and that works fine on the ground floor but when we have guests that go upstairs the guest network doesn't really work well. Is there any way i could replicate this guest access through out my house? Any information, recommendations on routers/access points or any networking software/hardware really helps! Thank you ? Ps - my main router is a linksys max-stream AC1750 Heres a network map https://imgur.com/a/aWBYVpF Edit: I am planning on switching over to gigabyte soon and have a budget of around $50 for each access point. Any recommendations on good access points/routers would be very helpful
  5. i dont have a budget in mind really, depends on how good the software is
  6. Hi, I'm looking for a network monitoring tool that gives me an entire layout of my network, the devices connected (access points, phones, pc), their ip addresses, etc. I don't mind a piece of hardware thats connected to my router (although i prefer software) thanks
  7. aren't these supposed be like 100$ headphones
  8. I absolutely hate them. I mean they're very comfortable and sound really nice, but and this is a huge but, a very big but.. they make this weird rustling noise whenever the wires brush against something. I looked it up and found out that this sound is called 'Microphonic's ', and a way to fix them it to warp the wire around the ear and put it in a sort of over the ear placement, but this just makes the headphones feel super uncomfortable. The earpod's never made this sound, and it feels like it is a pretty big problem and yet i don't see people complaining about it anywhere. Are my headphones defective? Am i not using them right? Do you have this problem?
  9. I came across dd-wrt while looking for the answers, is it possible to use it to try to create a mesh network?
  10. I tried that but most of he time my phone refuses to switch over to the closer faster connection if the older connection is even slightly available
  11. I live In a 4 story all concrete and cement house, and to counter the fact that our wifi becomes really slow when you're behind a wall, we have wired access points in every room. Right now we have multiple wifi SSIDs like -"a's room", "b's room", etc. Is there any way i can turn these access points in a giant wifi mesh with just 1 SSID? kinda like how hotels do it. Our main router is the Linksys Max-Stream EA7500 http://amzn.in/2rcrqQ9 its in the basement. I am planning on getting new access points, because the ones i use now the D-Link DWL-G700AP http://a.co/i4V1yL6 are really old and don't go over 40mbps. I get about 150mbps wired, and am planning to switch over to a gigabit connection in a couple months. So any new access point suggestions would be really helpful. Thanks for your help
  12. I'm trying to buy cablemod cables for my pc, but this one cable keeps kicking my ass. So for a ASUS Strix GTX1080 I need a 8+6 pin PCIE, but they don't seem to have any, could I just buy a 6 pin PCIE and a 8 pin PCIE cable instead? PSU - Corsair HX850i
  13. The build is about 10 months old. I did just submit a ticket to corsair support waiting to see what they say. PS- sorry for the late replay, had a bit of a problem with a bios crash
  14. Woot! I finally got it working! What i did wrong was, I downloaded the latest BIOS file from the asus sight and renamed the .zip folder to 'M9H.CAP' and put the entire folder in the usb drive instead of extracting the .CAP file within and renaming that to 'M9H.CAP' and putting only that in the usb drive. The simple stuff always gets me the first time.
