  1. [Bump] I have another question regarding the PSU I should have. I think I currently have like a 650w Powercool PSU and I've heard they are really bad. Will the EVGA powersupply, be able to plug EVERYTHING in without the need for additional extension cables and such? I just wanna make sure that I'm not making any mistakes or run into any issues when it comes to cable lengths for the Case, and missing cables etc etc (I'm sorry for being really stupid, but I get so worried easily about it because I've had so many issues before) Also, my B350-F motherboard arrived, aswell as the Ryzen 5 1600 CPU!
  2. I'd appreciate the parts list a lot, just bare in mind I'm only looking for a cpu/mobo and ram + SSD and maybe a powersupply (I'll need to check what one I have currently)
  3. Well I don't see why not, but I've seen a few reviews on Ryzen and it seems that it's had multiple issues off launch (which I'm 99% they might have actually fixed right now) so that was my reasoning for it anyway and was hoping to not run into any issues. I don't understand what you meant by 16GB RAM when on my parts list it is 16GB (unless you meant 1 stick of 16GB I don't know) and honestly I've not looked into many MOBOs, but the main thing I'm looking for is mostly upgradability. A decent reasonably priced board that will allow me to upgrade seamlessly for the future that will support my fans and front usbs (NZXT S340 case, which my current mini-atx board doesn't support [hella old]) aswell as an SSD. I apologise btw, I don't consider myself to be tech savvy at all. I would just rather have a system that works and performs really well with no issues off the bat
  4. Hello all, My birthday is coming up (2nd September). and I'll be going for an upgrade rather than an entirely new pc build. - and I was wondering.. Has anyone had issues with buying the Z170 motherboard on amazon and having to upgrade the bios prior to using a Kaby-Lake CPU (in my case it'll be the i5-7600k) Here's my part list: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/nPLyzM (I've already got the CPU Cooler/GPU and PSU and a hard drive, so the only upgrade will be the CPU/MOBO + RAM) I'm not sure whether to risk buying the z170 motherboard off of amazon knowing that on pcpartpicker it says I may need to update the bios. So what I'm asking is really, are the motherboards updated beforehand or will I HAVE to buy a skylake cpu in addition to my kaby lake cpu or would it be worth not taking the risk and just going with a fully compatible motherboard. (I apologise if this is not in the right category, feel free to move it elsewhere)
  5. I'm speaking of the cable that plugs into the PSU to actually be able to switch it on not the plugs into the motherboard, The monitors power cable is the same looking one as the monitors, hence why I thought that could have an impact on it but I guess not, good thing I'm getting a gtx1060 and 212 Evo for my new parts
  6. Hey guys, Sometimes my fan suddenly speeds up, and then slows down, I'm not sure what part of my computer it is because I have not opened it up to check... Any ideas what it may be? Note: When I took all my cables out to reorganise my desk, I forgot which plug went into my monitor and which went into my power supply, so maybe it could be something to do with that but I highly doubt it since both my computer and motherboard are fully working (The plugs look the EXACT same ) But if you guys have any idea what it may be? I'd appreciate it - New pc and parts coming soon anyway so it's not that big of an issue
  7. Will my I7-3770 (Not the K version) bottleneck a GTX1060 3GB GAMING CARD? - I've tried to bring this question up over at my build planning and have yet to receive any replies so I'm asking here - I watched a youtube video explaining it: But I don't know because I'm not very tech savvy. Please help!
  8. [Bump back up because I posted the previous comment late at night so nobody was gunna reply]
  9. Righto! Parts are ordered and should be arriving soon! - I have a few questions before hand tho, 1) Will my current cpu i7-3770 (Not the K version - even though it was advertised on the website I bought it from ) bottleneck the graphics card? ALSO: It's idle at 45C so I don't know if new thermal paste and the 212 cooler would improve those temps. 2) I'm unaware of how many fan slots are on my current motherboard. Can someone clarify how many and if it's enough for my cpu, fan in the front/back and if they'll fit If these can be answered I'd appreciate it! - If not, I'd have to save up for a new cpu or motherboard I guess
  10. I forgot to note, will my 550w power supply be okay for this?
  11. Thank you! I do like the part list you sent, and I may actually go with that SSD than the £71 Samsung one even though it's 130gb less, it should be more than perfect to put games onto aswell as the OS because other games I could use my 1TB HDD for and only have such games like BF1 on the SSD for load times . So I may actually use that. But I'm going to look into it about the 1070
  12. Agreed. The only "real" difference is: 3GB - 9 SMs - 1152 CUDA 6GB - 10 SMs - 1280 CUDA other than that and the chips they use, everything else is pretty much the same PLUS it gives that extra space to buy additional components!
  13. I watched a video talking about the difference between the 6GB and the 3GB and they're pretty much the same.
  14. I'm getting the 3GB version of the GTX1060 not the 6GB + I'm reusing existing parts because they're still in good enough condition to do so
