So I bought a new USB today to use as a windows install disk and when I got home and went to open it I realized it had been re-sealed with tape.
It was shitty packaging that looked like it might have just fallen apart and they had taped it up to stop the USB from falling out.
I was still slightly suspicious.
Then I plugged it into my PC and went to look at it, only to find that I couldn't access it because it had been encrypted with bitlocker and I needed the password.
This isn't normal, is it?
So I formatted it and ran the thing to set it up as a windows install disk.
Why would a USB be encrypted so you can't use it out of the box?
If it was tampered with, for what purpose?
I bought it from a local electronics shop that I trust, I'm friends with some of the employees.
