ye i had to reset all passwords related to plusnet to be able to get it to work.....

the reason for the change of the hub was i keep getting ping spikes from an average of 17ms to 700ms+ which when gaming is well just game breaking so trying anything at this point i managed to finally get in had to reset all passwords related to plusnet and it finally let me in

Hi, EDIT: WAS ABLE TO FIX THIS BY RESETING ALL PASSWORDS RELATED TO PLUSNET TO THE SAME THING So i bought an aftermarket modem/router to place the one my ISP gives me (plusnet hub one) as i am having problems with ping spiking and when i asked them to look into they basically said no... the unit i bought is a TP-link TD-W9960 my home internet connection is DSL (70MBPS) the issue i am having is i cant get it to connect to the internet when i go though the setup process i tell it i am using plusnet_VDSL (i have checked with plusnet that this is correct) it then asks me for a username and password which i cant get right i have spoken to plusnet about this and there completely unhelpful and there support agents have no idea what there on about and "theres no one else i can speak to thats more technical". If i go to the settings for the ISP router (to manage all settings like port forwarding and so on) i can disconnect it from the internet when i go to reconnect it again it shows me an email address that they have made for me (never seen this before in my life) and it has a password thats 8 characters long that autofills but is hashed (not saved in chromes password manager or anything like that) so i have no idea what it is (theres a show password button but that just clears the password field????) if i reset this username and password the username becomes setup@plusdsl.net i still have no idea what the password is and after about 10mins the username changes back to the "normal one" they "give me" and the internet connection is restored and works fine again. So if am right i will need the about username the @plusdsl.net one and what ever this password is for the Tp link router to be able to make an internet connection? i hope this makes sense thanks

theres a 1gb link from ISP router (4years old ish) to my AP everything on my network is WIFI or wired to this AP. wiring is my AP 1gb cable to my switch which has both PC wired to it this is 2.5gb link between the PC's (steam local downloads are fast AF thats y i have this also there is only 1 cable running up stairs in the house from were the AP is) my ap is a TP-link AC1750 in AP mode doesnt handle nat the ISP router is dealing with that (my PC is a plex server as well) EDIT: added another screenshot to main post

even direct play on my home network has problems tho and thats got a 1gb link tested using my fiends server at 12mpbs and it was the same so its a playback issue with the laptop as it works fine on my phone

5800x with a 3080ti server and laptop is a 10900hk with a 150w 3080 in (Alienware r5 17") its not a hardware issue there linked on a 1gb network but it have the problem with direct play and over the internet

problem is about the same on both dont have subtiles

So i got my plex server all up and working but my laptop is having problems with playback over the internet and direct play. so the problem i have is my laptop using chrome or the plex app will stutter and freeze sometimes for about a second every now and again i thought it was an issue with my server and direct play as i have only just gotten into plex and what not but when i tried to stream something from my friends plex server i have the same problem and he has had his server for years and works fine for other devices so its an issue with my laptops playback but i dont really know were to go looking to fix it

ye am just paid for our yearly holiday so a bit broke now XD till payday which i think am going to get the lifetime pass then obvs when streaming in home the 4k movies pull like 80mb/s but thats really a non issue as its not transcoded at all just raw

my in home streaming is wired up to 2.5g and 1g ethernet for for my home cinema thats currently 92" 1080p but next year i think i will upgrade to TCL's 98" 4k TV for that setup and my monitor on my desktop is the alienware QD-oled the g sync one (the one ploof has) but outside the home my mum has a normal like £400 4k tv and then i have my phone and my wifes phone my internet has a max upload of 19mb/s realistly am only going to ever have 1 outside the home steam at a time

right but if my wife wants to download the content who need to own the plex pass? my account or her account? or both accounts

Hi, so i have a plex sever set up and working and i can stream from it from outside my network if i buy plex pass will that let other people download my content to watch (my wife has her own plex account that as access to the media) or would i need plex pass and my wife would need plex pass?
