If you heard that sound in the exact moment of installing the RAM stick on the slot, you're fine

Hi guys, So a friend asked me what i could make to make him play recent games to such a small budget of 200€. So, the specs: Well, add to this a generic case and a unknow psu (will try verify that asap). My plans were to get a Q6600, get the ram up to 2x4gb or 2x2gb (since i don't find any 2x4 kits lol) and a new GPU without auxiliary power, something like a 1050Ti. My way of thinking it's correct or I can do this way better? Some feedback would be awesome. Thanks.

Are you using it for rendering?

+1 for compressed air, it removes almost all the dust from hardware if used on the right way.

hi, i bought a x58A-UD3R some days including a i7 920 on the deal, fine. I knew it had this famous "endless reboot" problem that i confirmed when i got home. Haven't done any deep visual inspection on burned small smd caps or something but removed the CPU and for my surprise, some pins where not in good shape. I can't take any pictures because my dslr camera lens it's not capable of zooming so far into the socket but i will drop here a image of the pins that seem to be "faulty": The 2 pins that are surrounded by the yellow circle are: Black - Vss Red - Vcc and the other 1 pin surrounded by red circle is QPI data. So, i tried to bend those back into place, the QPI data pin seems to be in place but it's still deformed. The Vss and Vcc where bent back too but i noticed they don't had their "heads", seems like they were cutted (??) so those pins, even bent back to their original place. don't touch the CPU gold contacts. After all this bending, tried the MB again, same problem. May this be the problem of the endless reboot's? If i could confirm it I can buy a new socket and change it right away. Thanks, snow

Yup, first of all my goal is to get a job in the country i will interested in and then move there, don't want to move until i guarantee myself a job there.. Well, i want to master myself in Hardware, repairing and mounting mainly. Already do it's a main hobby but want to get deep in the learning. What's your opinion on Canada in 3/4 years? I see Linus always arguing how shit cad usd it's right now, would it be better in the next years?

Well, i just want the money enough for my addictions, in this case, hardware I said that i wanted the country to use English as main language because, well: 1) it's a language that i manage to speak fluently 2) like it even more than my main language (portuguese) 3) and well, i think it's the "go everywhere and people know what you are saying" Japan and other cities would be awesome, but i had to spend time learning the languange and well, it would be time wasted i think. I want to arrive to the country and "set-up" my life up without any language barriers Well, this seems my answer for now. I just wanted to get my head on some ideas Thanks @M.Yurizaki @Miguel552 @TheNuzziNuzz @corrado33 @JoaoPRSousa @Minibois for all the feedback till now!

Hi! I'm Portuguese guy (from Portugal, ofc, lol) that always had a wish to live in a country where English is the main language. Well, at the moment i'm in the middle of a pre-university course, "Networking and Informatic Systems", i'm myself a hardware guy but wanted to see my "skills in paper" and that's why i joined that course. I have finished obligatory school (12 years here) so after this course i will be joining university for 3 years, in the "Electrotechnology & Computers Engineering" course and do a special path to Hardware specialization. Well, after that i want to leave Portugal. Portugal it's a good country, no doubt, i like it, but i really want to make this dream come true (first line of this topic). So, at total, only in 3-4 years i will be done with studys (i hope), so by that year, which country would be the best to live in? I really wanted a balance between salaray-tech-life conditions. I hope i got myself explained right Thanks, snow

Well, if i were you.. I would buy the supa slim Fractal Node 202, build a beefy system on it, buy a slim monitor that it's big enough for your needs and not bigger than the node 202 lateral side and attach the monitor to side of the case, removing the stand of it. I think it would be compact enough to travel with on suitcase and you will have the power of a desktop everywhere btw, Madeira or Açores?

Well, in Portugal you have some pretty nice models in that price range. Search on PCDiga and Globaldata
