Fords and power steering issues. Name a more iconic duo... Well at least that one is easy to top off when it gets low and will give you plenty of loud warning before anything goes really wrong with it.

I agree with letting the shop do it. Especially if it is on the house.

When you gas up, pop the hood and make sure you have water in the overflow. I'd do this until you are sure there is no more leak.

It's time to determine where the leak is from, once and for all. There are places, like the headgasket for example, that can total a car. The part is only $50 but the labor is $5000. If there is something wrong like that, then it's time to move along....

Money well spent. Follow the severe duty maintenance schedule in the manual and cars can last a long time. Yup, even Fords.

2013 accord sport owner here. I purchased at 35K and now have 155K on her. Other than a couple of valve train issues that were about $400 to have repaired, and rebuilding second gear (manual transmission, 100% my fault no-lift shifting it also about $400), the car has been dead reliable and still looks great. People are always surprised with how old and how many miles are on it. That said, I agree with waiting till the Taurus gives up the ghost and I would buy a used accord and save yourself a lot of $$$ on depreciation.
