No this is a hobby putting out 1-2 videos a week.

Would anyone hesitate picking up used cpus? Ive seen some decent deals on 8 core i7s compared to their cost new. Just a bit cautious of buying something like that used.

Wouldnt be a bad deal if I can pick one up that cheap when it comes time for me to purchase one.

For video editing full hd and 4k videos purposes. When comparing the 5820k to the 6800k. Is there going to be a noticable difference in the performance of the 6800k over the 5820k. Or should I just save some money and go with the 5820k?

I had picked that cooler due to space concerns.. i have been back and forth on case choice and that one fit all of the cases I was looking at. Although I'm really starting to consider an AIO for aesthetic purposes.

If I ever did liquid cooling it would be an AIO system..but even then my biggest worry is dumping all of this money into a system and it would only take one leak to ruin it all. And then I'm out however much gets ruined in the process. And they do look cool lol.

yeah I've since re thought it and I think the x99 Sabertooth might be a better option and just add the thunderbolt port to it if I need it later. I'm still fighting the urge to water cool with an AIO as well. I like the reliability of the air cooler but I don't care for the weight hanging on the board. I've just got some fears of leakage with an AIO ruining my system.

Being that prices isn't a factor since they both come in around the same price range. What are the pros and cons that would make one better than the other?

I was told otherwise but either way not a big deal it will just save me a few bucks by not getting the third ssd. My biggest concern is which CPU/Motherboard combo is going to be best for my intended use.

No gaming strictly a productivity machine

Ok here are two builds that I have put together on pc parts picker. My intended use for this is a home office PC and content creation workstation using Adobe CC (Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop mostly) and Microsoft Office will be the main uses. I might play in some pro tools as well. Keep in mind on the xeon build I can source the cpus used on ebay for about $75 a piece on ebay and I'm sure there is a slightly cheaper MOBO option as well. But in its current state its only $100 over my i7 build. What are everyone's thoughts on which build would suit my intended use best. I'm not really interested in over clocking much either. For strictly a production setup what is everyones take on an ultrawide setup vs a multi monitor set up with smaller monitors?

Is water cooling worth it for a productivity machine that will not see any sort of gaming and would only get a mild overclock on a 6800k processor? Compared to running something like a Noctua D15S?

I had originally looked at that one...I was being picky and trying to do a red and black color theme...but I could always do blue and black if going that route

The 6900k is 8 cores at 3.5ghz and Broadwell E at just over 1k wouldnt running a duel quad core setup using two xeon E5 1620s give you the same results at a cheaper price? They are 3.5ghz Broadwell EP

You know never thought of that since I dont game. What would you reccomend if you are familiar with xeon machines?

No I dont game I just plan on using it for content creation, video and music streaming home office. Not going for a color scheme as im going with a case without a window. Yeah my intentions were on an X99 I have a budget of $2500 - 3k on the build. But even with a decent budget if I wasnt going to see a huge improvement from one to the other Id rather use the difference in cost on something else.
