  1. I am looking into a Framework 16 laptop for work. Pre orders are live and I have been playing around with the builder. When I configure a laptop DIY my price is more that when I configure a pre-built with the same specs. With the DIY I can select a 180W power adapter but on the pre-built I only have the option to select power adapter language. According to the "whats in the box" section, a power adapter is included in the box. I assume this is for pre-built systems. My question is based on this, it appears to me, that there is no financial benefit to a DIY framework. Is this accurate? DIY-$2,249.00 7940HS 32GB (2x16GB) 1TB SN770 Win 11 Pro Expansion shell US English Numpad module Black 180W power adapter (US/CA region) 2 USB-A 2 USB-C 1 HDMI 1 Ethernet Pre-Built-$2,158.00 Overkill which includes 7940HS 32GB (2x16GB) 1TB SN770 (doesn't specify this model but its the cheapest so for comparisons sake i chose it on both systems) Win 11 Pro ---------- I then chose Expansion shell US English Numpad module 180W power adapter (US/CA region) **I assume this in included in the box with the pre-built** 2 USB-A 2 USB-C 1 HDMI 1 Ethernet
  2. I am looking for a floodlight camera that can record locally over the network. I can’t find anything except ones with cloud storage or local SD storage.
  3. I already did this when I got the board back and still had issues. I updated to 1903 via bios flashback since I could not reliably get into the bios. Issue still persists.
  4. My system started to blue screen in Windows... I ram memetest86 and found errors. Before I sent the RAM in I stated to get this ghosting in the BIOS and while in the BIOS it would freeze about 10 seconds after entering. I RMA'ed my RAM with Corsair. With new RAM I still had the same issue. That led me to believe it was either the motherboard or the CPU. I sent my board into ASUS and they said the bios was out of date..... I assume they updated it. They didn't say specifically if they did. Upon getting the board back I had the same issue but this time I would only occasionally be able to get into the BIOS. When I am unable to get into the BIOS I get A9 q-code. When I get into the BIOS it still freezes within 10 seconds or so. Do I have a bad motherboard that ASUS did not fix or is my CPU bad? CPU was overclocked to 4.2GHz. Voltage was 1.4275 I think Srtix x99 Gaming i7 6850k Corsair h115i Corsair 860i PSU 32GB Corsair RGB Pro 3000Mhz EVGA 1080ti SC2 Hybrid
  5. I have matching models so SLI does work fine in supported games. I'm using the old flex SLI bridges currently but I plan on getting some 4K monitors and from what I've read the HB bridge makes a difference at 4k. Guess I'll have to try Ebay or get another brand *sigh* Thx for the help.
  6. So EVGA discontinued them? Did they say why only the 1 slot was?
  7. Amazon doesn't even list a 1 slot. EVGA direct just says auto notify. I've been holding out for an EVGA one because both my cards are EVGA and I'd like to match the ascetic.
  8. Does anyone know why the 1 slot EVGA HB bridge (part number 100-2W-0026-LR) has been out of stock everywhere for the past few months? I picked up a second EVGA 1080TI in November and have been unable to find the EVGA 1 slot bridge anywhere online or local. Moving slots isnt an option so a single slot HB bridge is the only option.
  9. I'll check that when I get home this evening. If if it isn't under the correct category would it cause this issue? if my system is powered down safely I have USB on boot up. This only occurrea from a hard boot.
  10. The first time it happened (6-3) a system restore did not work so I ended up doing a repair install and that fixed my issue. It happened again this evening and a system restore fixed it.
  11. I have a very strange issue that just started to occurs in the last week or so and I'm hoping someone can shed some insight as to why it's happening. When my system is hard booted for any reason when it boots back up I have absolutely no USB devices. Doing a system restore sometimes fixes the issue which leads me to believe it's software issue. In BIOS i have mouse and keyboard support. I also have it in the windows 10 system diagnostics menu where you can launch, command prompt, system restore, OS rollback etc. Amyome have any ideas as to the root cause of this? It's very frustrating. 12. I said Tobii because its a name brand people would know and be able to suggest alternatives. I also said for Windows Hello logins. It works well for that and would be used only for that purpose. Thanks for the link. I haven't purchased a gaming laptop in probably 6 or so years so I'm not familiar with this brand but I like what I'm seeing so far.
  13. I am looking to buy a gaming laptop but it has to have a per key RGB keyboard and either a depth sensing camera (Tobii, Intel RealSense) or a finger print reader for Windows hello logins (just because I want to use Windows hello) Spec wise: (Usual suspects) GTX 1070 (maybe 1080 if price is good) 17" 120hz 1080P IPS screen Samsung 950 pro m.2 (ideally) I'd like to not spend more then $3,000 on this system. The issue I have found is that I can't find a system that has everything I want. MSi offers a Tobii model but not a per key RGB keyboard. Sager offers per key RGB but no Windows hello options. If there is a laptop out there that has everything I want but I just missed it please let me know. Thanks.
