  1. Hi. I'm currently looking for a budget laptop under 450 GBP in UK. I only plan to play older games like Fallout 3, NV, Morrowind, This war of Mine, Xcom Enemy Unknown and STALKER at decent settings and frame rates. I also plan to answer emails, so something with a good keyboard (if possible even a back lit keyboard) will do me good. My requirements are: 1). Decent graphics performance. 2). Good battery life for answering emails. I plan to look into the Acer Aspire 3 Ryzen APU laptop, but I've heard that the driver support of AMD mobile APUs have been pretty bad. Also, please note that you can either link me to a sale, or if it's over my budget then you can still list it here and I'll wait for a sale on it. Thanks in advance.
  2. I have tried that. Didn't work much. Game mode, full screen optimization etc.
  3. Well pretty sure they aren't a gpu driver issue. Amd adrenaline edition drivers just got released today, so performance should be better on those. But it wasn't the case in bf1. I know for sure that windows has messed up something. My gut tells me that.
  4. Hi. I'm planning to downgrade my windows 10 1809 to 1803 due to recent weird performance in some games such as bf1 etc. My question is, is there any way I can downgrade without losing my main drive data, just the windows is downgraded? Or will I have to format my C drive and just do a fresh install? Keep in mind that I want the programs to work correctly after downgrading if I choose not to do a fresh install. Is that possible? Thank you in advance.
  5. Or if it's the 2 gb model then the R9 280
  6. I'd personally go for the gtx 770 if it's the 4 gb model.
  7. Which one should I try? Should I update to 18.12.1.2 (idk exact number, just the latest one)?
  8. Hi. A few months ago, I used to play a bit of bf1 on my pc and it ran solid, as it should. 1080p ultra got my at least 80 fps. Now after a few months, when I play bf1, I'm BARELY getting 60 fps in single player and regularly dropping into the 50s. Even changing the preset to Medium, I only get only around 80 fps. My cpu temps, usage, gpu Temps, usage, ram and vram usage are fine. My amd driver version is 18.11.2 My windows 10 version is 1809 (Build 17763.134) Let me know if you need any other details and I appreciate the help in advance. My system specs: I7 4790k Rx 480 4 GB 16 GB ddr3 ram Before you ask, my system is fine. It used to run the game fine before. Again, thanks in advance. Also, I'm getting another (similar) problem on Rocket League where if I start the game WITHOUT MSI afterburner, my frame rate only stays in the 40s-50s but if I start RL WITH MSI afterburner, my frame rate stays locked to 85 (I've manually locked it to this.). Maybe these 2 problems are related?
  9. Why are you gonna change to a small psu later anyway then? Just buy a 650W PSU from the get go. And instead of the 2400G, go for something like a Ryzen 2600/1600. The 2400G might bottleneck your gpu. Rest seems good, just make sure to fit an ssd into this budget too.
  10. Yes I did re install the game but still the same problem. GPU is updated to latest Adrenaline drivers. Okay I have now updated my Windows and this seems to have fixed the issue.
  11. Hi. So recently, I don't even know how this is happening, but I've been getting VERY low fps suddenly in Rocket league. At 1080p, high quality settings, my fps is in the 40s-50s mostly. My gpu usage is also maxed out. Gpu clock and memory speeds are also what they should be. GPU and CPU temps are fine too. This wasn't the case before. I used to get a SOLID 85 fps locked (I limited it to 85). I've also tried Borderless mode but didn't work. My other games run fine, it's just RL that's messing up. My specs: i7 4790k rx 480 4 gb 16 gigs ddr3 ram. If anyone could help me out... I tried Googling it but I haven't found a viable solution.
  12. Ok I have now replaced the thermal paste with Cool Lab liquid ultra. Temps have improved by around 9-10 C Previously, in load temps settled at around 72C Now temps seem to have settled around 62-63C. This experiment was a success.
  13. I don't exactly remember the temps back then, but when I did replace the paste they did appear to improve. But I'm wondering if this is the BEST I can get. The temps aren't satisfactory for me. Also, another question,is liquid metal safe to apply on this gpu. Will it react with the orange surface on the heatsink?
  14. Hi I've tested my Sapphire RX 480 4 GB today in Tomb Raider benchmark. I ran it for 20-25 minutes. At 70% fan speed, 1080p high settings, average around 80 fps, my temps settled at around 72C, though it did peak up to 73C. My ambient temps are 22C. It's been a few months since I've replaced my stock paste with Cooler Master thermal paste (one that comes with hyper 212x). So are my temps fine? I'm guessing they're still a little high, could that be if I didn't remount the gpu properly? Or MAYBE something went wrong during the whole dis assembly and re assembly. Also, will a Cool Laboratory liquid metal improve temps? Also, will it react with my GPU cooler since I heard it liquid metal does react with either Aluminum or Copper, not sure which. Let me know please. Thanks
