  1. Today, while in a local second hand tech shop, I was given a challenge by my friend, that challenge is to build a rig capable of running crysis on a budget of $10.70 AUD. So I set off to find some parts. There will be pics when i get some Part List (updated regularly to incorporate new parts found) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2xRNM8 I was given a few rules, by my friend: 1. Obviously it must run crysis (or at least the benchmark) 2. Parts found lying by the side of the road are acceptable 3. Parts cannot be directly donated to me for the purposes of the build DAY 1: I managed to purchase an Intel Pentium D 820 for $0.50 and scored a thermaltake case on the side of the road CASH Remaining: $10.20
  2. So roughly 2 weeks later and have received a replacement from corsair and it works fine again
  3. To avoid the issue occurring again if it was a specific thing to that series PSU, knowing that its not now i will just RMA the PSU
  4. @deXxterlab97 Well that leaves me with no explanation for how the PSU exploded other than random 1 in 1 million failure
  5. Just out of curiosity could over voltaged ram caused the PSU to go up
  6. Roughly the same price as the RMx unit
  7. Still under warranty, and for those wondering how it died, i switched it on this morning and it blew electric out the back of PSU Any recommendations for a replacement PSU
  8. My 90 day use, corsair Rm650x PSU blew itself up while being switched on this morning. Should i rma it or switch to a new PSU
  9. Opinion: in my mind based upon the issues i have previously had with AMD crimson drivers i would recommend the 1060 6GB IF you have the money a 1070 is also a good choice other than that the 1060 is the one to go for Breakdown: The 1060 is a solid 1080p card running most games on Max settings If the only thing holding you back is aesthetics, i also recommend you have a look at a card with RGB lighting and a neutral base something like the ROG STRIX Based upon reference cards the 1060 operates at a cooler temperature and outperforms the reference 480 Video Review:
  10. It should work i had a build extremely similar to this just with a 500GB drive instead and a GTX 260, it will run Minecraft mostly problem free the only problems i experienced were ram related so if possible more ram would be good, as for the screen recording you will most likely need a dedicated GPU if you want it to run smoothly 20-30 bucks man that's expensive, there is a used computer hardware store near me that sells them for 75 cents i would try to find a store like that if you're building this yourself
  11. Hey man( i presume) i can help you with that
