From just guessing i would put Firefox somewhere in between chrome and ie for HTML5(player) support. IE10 and 11 seem ancient compared to quite a few browsers and i read that it was 90% or 92% HTML5 integrated , i just don't quite believe that so Active X stays on. Perhaps your using flashblock for moxilla ?i did not realize it blocks both flash and HTML5 by default. Check that previous comment on not an issue.. Somewhere around installing Firefox i have been getting two critical error messages almost daily, so says the event log. The one that bugs me is a task process type error. scvhost error. event id 455 process id 1832. From what read earlier it is something to do with windows logging and recovery and possibly drive permissions related. Though i cannot link it to firefox in anyway. Actually the error messages only start about 1 hour after a few Windows Updates

With IE10 and IE11 having a fit every odd Tuesday, Firefox seems the best choice to use in place of IE as it is not nearly as resource heavy as Chrome. I have a feeling i am not alone in re-installing firefox when Internet Explorer is being....Internet Explorer. With that out of the way, I can say that most of the betas i have used with 64 bit support have been decent enough. I would not know what to look for if it was not stable or performing well. i would like to know if anyone is having a sub par experience with Firefox Beta 64bit versions.

Is it possible to use system as a page file , but only a small amount compared to what Windows would manage automatically for all drives. I don't know the ins and outs of the game engines or Direct X or C++ ect., Until i do find out what i need to do to with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and it's X-Ray engine, the only solution for crashing is a custom set page of about 3GB Min. Maybe there is a way , but searching with google is not the most elegant solution, Simply put it is not effective so far. Let's Say Engine uses 3GB of Memory , (if that) then it calls on the virtual memory and if it is not enough than CTD. Changing it did help. But I want the engine to use system memory for what other games automatically would do. Is there any comprehensible way to go about this?

I know you can change the skin to look like msi ab or even the older evga x . though it is somewhat complicated compared to before. I don't think it changes the fact that half the settings still are not up yet/

Has anyone else installed the last few revisions of evga precision x 16 only to uninstall shortly after. Almost leaving a sour taste behind, so to speak. I did use evga's previous version evga precision 4.2.1 not only for overclocking but for monitoring GPU in almost every game. I forget the details of why they no longer use RTSS , like MSI Afterburner still does, but the vanilla UI and OSD on EVGAx16 is not even comparable to MSI AB or the older evga x . my point: I cannot seem to work with it, many settings don't seem to function. is there some way to mod it to function like MSI AB 4.11 or better still evga x 4.2.1?

There is this laptop, and it is okay, but the OS is being bogged down by bloatware and lots of programs which start up with windows. Also windows modules installer ,along with something else i cant see, is keeping the CPU at about 60-70% , Memory usage is about 45% and disk is all over the place. This is a problem. Even though it is not my laptop i assured him i would get it working real smooth like. Maybe chuck an SSD in there, a Sandisk 64GB (Sata III) should be fine for just the OS. My question is should i just use some migrating software , like acronis, and try and quickly refresh or restore windows after , or fresh install and possible not be able to re-configure the network myself. Some features may be using someones VPN.

Sata 2 should not make a big difference in Windows Booting and BIOS times. This is based loosely on my experience with a WD1501FASS, Sata II and an Intel X25-V Sata II . The WD Hard drive could load Win 8 in under 25 seconds on a regular startup, with a restart taking slightly longer. The Intel X25-V could take around the same with Win 7 and 8 if it was only half full.

That is a good deal and it is still on. i think it uses 3d TLC or something , Similar to the 850 pro's 3d vertical nand I wonder why the user reviews for both are not near as good as the 840 Pro and 840 Evo. Leave that for better minds than mine. It is no matter anyhow . I have already purchased the Sandisk Extreme Pro. If i had more funds to spend on a single drive i can see the 850 Evo 500GB or 1TB being the better buy.

There is a number of fairly decent ssds in the 240GB within the same price range. I saw something new in looking at a friends computer today. Well more heard it and saw the effects. Running Windows XP 32 bit, SP3 i imagine, we encountered an issue with some documents being reformatted into symbols , encrypted i think. The story is often told , the recipient of an email opens the attachment and then the file on the desktop is now ransomware . I hope that is not what happened though. I saw no program that replaced the background or anything. So much crap was running at once i could not identify quite a few things. So the short version is possible ransomware , CPU and Memory and Disk were slow but not pinned. Excel files on the desktop were encrypted, Any thoughts?

Yeah, ok. I get it , mostly. The only part i am fuzzy on is re-installation. I am due for a fresh install soon, and i have already had a bit of activation flippery last summer. Reading only Microsoft words from their site or Windows Wizard or whatever it's called, it is very unclear . So maybe it is : Install Windows 8 from media disk and activate , update to 8.1, then activate again. Then I guess get a Windows 10 update and activate that. And I did get a new number for the 8.1 update, can't remember if it was the license number or product activation key. I had only used 8.1 for a week .

Being one of the few people still using WIndows 8 (not 8.1) i can't help but feel i should have waited another month or so and picked up a copy of Win 8.1. Hearing that Windows 10 is a free upgrade for Windows 7 and 8.1 users only , kind of gets me. I know i can use the Windows App Store to Update to 8.1, which should have been a service pack imo, but i am not a fan of not having the same Product key and no official way to get the physical Windows 8.1 media disk . Also After letting Windows do this app store update , made a mess of things. I have read a few articles on "how to get the Windows 8.1 media disk after applying the Free 8 to 8.1 update " or some title resembling that. Now, in 2015 surely there must be something i can do, let me know your thoughts on obtaining 8.1 ISO,Physical Media, Product Key while using Windows 8 pro . Also if there is an effective method let me know please

I am trying to find a deal on a newer laptop with a 1920x1080 panel under $1000 CDN (after tax+S/H) . Lenovo has had quite a few in the 600-900 Dollar range which are using Intel Broadwell i5 and i7 processors but there Screens all use some 1366x768 panel , i assume is TN. Whats that all about, Some are spec'ed with i7 5500u 8 or 16GB Memory and one or two with dedicated GPU(GT 840M or something) I would appreciate any input on a laptop/notebook that is 500 to 1000 dollars with a 1080p panel.(i5 or i7, 6GB Memory or more ) I have been looking on newegg . It is a quick and easy way to search for a good amount of what is avaiilable but im sure there is better sites .

From starting with the having the essential parts To the final bootup with the glitches ironed out( Closed Case, everything installed) , How long would completing a CPU and GPU water cooled setup take. Also is the pc out of commission the entire time?
