  1. Hi! I'm about to order a new pc with Asrock Z370 Extreme4, i5-8600k, Gskill RipjawsV x2 ram and FD Define C TG case. The cpu cooler is Thermalright HR-02 Macho rev b. My question is, will the cooler fit with those other parts? Ram isn't an issue I believe, because I will use the furthermost dual channel configuration from the cpu socket, so the first socket is not in use. Neither is the case, it takes taller coolers than macho. But will the macho heatsink interfere with that beefy rear IO/vrm heatsink design of Asrock Z370 Extreme4?
  2. We will order from here https://www.mindfactory.de/
  3. The money spent on the PSU is away from the money spent on the case. Noise isn't that big of a concern as the GPU will make a lot of sound anyway with overclocking. I'm trying to justify the 50€ price difference, does it provide the system "cleaner power" to make the oc more stable or some of that sort? From what I've gathered the Seasonic is said to be a trustworthy unit too. There are more options of course. The Evga g2 and g3 for example, but they are similar price to the RMx, and the RMx is said to have more silent fan profile. If I go with that price range, I will probably choose the RMx.
  4. Hi! I'm planning a gaming PC for my brother, on which I'm also planning to teach him how to overclock. We have chosen already to use the i5 7600k with a Asus Prime Z270-A and Thermalright hr02 macho cooler. GPU we haven't chosen yet, but it will be a midrange gpu, amd or nvidia. Maybe even used. PSU is the part that I have trouble to choose. Choises are Seasonic S12-520ii or Corsair RM550x. I know they are quite different price range. As our budget is kinda tight, I'm trying to justify the cost of the Corsair for myself. They both have gotten pretty decent reviews. What will I gain overclocking vice in going for the Corsair, other than modularity?
  5. Wouldn't the aftermarket cooler make the system much more quiet? E: Also, there's a 7€ difference between the boxed and tray CPU. Could aswell buy the tray and a proper cooler? E2: One more question. The board contains 2 PCIe x16 slots. If I plug the wifi-card into the lower one, will the main slot with GPU still run at full x16 speed? According to specs: 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16) 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4 (PCIEX4)
  6. Selected parts: parts.jpg Building a gaming rig for a friend of mine. Got a couple of things that still need deciding. We live in Finland, ordering most of the parts from Germany, case from Finland and Win 10 Pro from Kinguin.net. Already have a SSD. - Is 8GB of RAM enough for newest games or should we opt for 16GB already? - Is GA-B150M-D3H a good mobo for this build? Lots of people seem to be recommending MSI B150M-Mortar, but I'm more comfortable with Gigabyte. Is there any difference quality-wise? Both boards pack all the desired functionality. - Case. Any recommendations for the best price/perfomance mATX case, budget 40-100€ on this. Options we've had a look at include Silverstone TJ-08B-E, Cooltek C3 and Fractal 1100. - Kinguin.net. Does it work for OSes? I've bought a couple of games and they worked fine. We are poor college students so we don't really care where did the product key come from as long it's working ^^ E: Yeah, forgot to mention games he's gonna play include CS:GO and BF1 mostly. He's gonna buy a 144 hz 1080p monitor.
