  1. I'm going for overkill, to be able to run it as silently as possible when idling and running it with normal use. Being able to keep the bottom slot empty is quite ideal for me, as that is what I'd like to do, as any radiator down there would obstruct the view, especially if I were to fit a gigantic on down there. I was thinking of the Vardar EVO RGB's, as they'd fit right into the aesthetics of my build (Trying for a black&white build), and purely using the RGB for white illumination in the case. Yeah, no doubt the HW Labs would also perform brilliantly, but they wouldn't be a perfect fit looks-wise in the case. As the case is quite square itself, the EK's fit right in.
  2. I see I wasn't quick enough with my edit I'm an absolute sucker for the EK Coolstream looks. They're not bulky and has got a really clean look to them. When looking at the averaged scores, and even the individual specific scores, the XE360 seems to just about outperform everything else in its class, and excels especially in lower-rpm builds. The PE360 is also quite good, and isn't far off the XE in performance. In push-only, the XE360 and GTX are pretty much neck-a-neck, but I'd much prefer the XE in looks.
  3. Hmmm, I didn't think the penalty of it would be this bad. It's in the bottom quite a bit overall. I've been wanting to keep my bottom clear in my case, but it can fit a 60mm easy, as I've got a fullplate for my GFX which will populate the top PCI-E slot anyway, so there's plenty of room below for a full thickness 60mm rad in the bottom. I'm building in my Lian Li o11-Dynamic, so the space is quite tight. However, depending on the motherboard I'm getting, I should be able to fit at least a 45 mm in the top, and a 60mm in the bottom. Currently sporting a Corsair H115i in the top, which is just 26mm, and even with fans, there's still plenty of room down to the motherboard. Had a chat in PPC's facebook group, where a lot of people have built in the o11-dynamic, and they chime in that I should be able to fit the 60mm in the bottom, and the 45mm in the top. Looking at the charts in the test, it looks like EK is still a very viable option, when looking at PE for the top and XE for the bottom, when looking at push-only low-to-mid RPM fans (I'm generally looking for a more quiet operation, unless I'm pushing the system). Also, I'm a sucker for the looks of the EKWB Coolstreams, which is why I'm trying to gravitate towards them as much as possible. They're not bulky and very clean in their looks. Am I completely off in my evaluation of the charts?
  4. Do you have a link for the entire article/test?
  5. I'm doing EKWB SE's, as I'm building in a Lian Li o11 Dynamic. Might be able to squueze in a PE in the side slot.
  6. 1080ti gpu, but currently assembling custom loop. Have blocks for both, just waitng for radiators. Going with two 360's and vardar fans, so there's ample room to push it quite far.
  7. So if I'm to look for a new PSU, do you have a specific model in mind that would be suitable?
  8. I'd say it's probably due to the high demand of the 3900X and the coming 16 core part as well, which can draw quite a bit of power. In most cases, the BIOS is tuned to only require 1 EPS plug if the lower models is detected, but once you plug in 3900X or above, it'll probably message you and require the second EPS to be plugged in as well. When the times comes, I'll plug in the extra EPS connector, and just cross my fingers and hope nothing says puff-puff-pass :D But it gets confusing quick, when Corsair has made three different versions of this PSU: RM750 (Non-i, non-x, which I have) The I and the X version.
  9. I'd rather have it plugged in with 8+8 just in case, than not. At this point, we have no clue of the actual power draw when you put some extra juice them. I'm not exactly planning on running it stock.
  10. Sweet, thank you! I'm looking to get some cablemod cables, so I was planning on just ordering an extra EPS cable with my order from them.
  11. Hi. A fair bit of people has probably been waiting for the past months, like me, for the announcement and release date of the 3rd gen Ryzen CPU's. With the first pics of the boards surfacing, I'm noticing dual EPS plugs on some of them. With my thoughts of getting a 3900X, and not exactly planning on running it at stock, I mind find the need for both EPS plugs. My question is then this: Will I be able to run dual EPS on my Corsair RM750? The PSU is fully modular, and has three plugs for PCI-E/EPS, with only one being in use for my GPU, and one for my current CPU, leaving one vacant. Is it as simple as just getting another EPS cable for my PSU, plug it in, and it's all go from there, or am I also looking at getting a new PSU for my upcoming build? Regards, Dozer.
  12. According to Guru3D, the story of "give us a call" from Intel is now being expanded. Not only are they, allegedly (Linus TM pending), trying to undercut prices, but they are even trying to influence actual results of the benchmarks. This is a bold claim, and will without a doubt pour gazoline onto the already blazing fire that is AMD vs Intel. Personally, I take this with a huge amount of salt, as it reeks of a third party running interference, trying to smudge Intel, and get the war going even further. Intel is trying to manipulate Amd Ryzen launch
  13. We're getting closer and closer to the new Ryzen launch. A few days ago it was announced by AMD themselves, that Ryzen would launch in "early March". Now, Sweclockers.com claims this to be on March 2nd at 4 PM CET (7 AM PST). The article is in Swedish, so have google translate handy http://www.sweclockers.com/nyhet/23387-amd-ryzen-lanseras-den-2-mars
  14. It might not. From what we saw on WAN last Friday, Intel will most likely ship out a new subset of skews with higher frequency, and maybe drop the prices a bit. But even with that, AMD is putting a brutal price tag on their new lineup. They need people to buy their CPU's, and they need it bad.
