  1. The fan orientation is already in a position where I have most cable to work with, but not enough to route it to the top. I can't seem to get the cable off the graphic card back board. I might be able to if I buy several extension and make a route through the top, but I would prefer not to do that if unnecessary. There is around a 5" cable slack sitting on the gpu backboard. Does the backboard get really hot?
  2. Hi, I just finished my first pc build yesterday and ended up with one of the fan cables sitting on top of the graphic card backboard to reach a fan header. I was wondering if having a cable on the graphic card backboard might cause the cable to melt due to graphic card heat? Is it okay to leave the cable where it is? More information: I am using the Fractal Design's define nano s and asus z170i pro-gamer motherboard. The fan cable is noctua a-14 sleeved cable (I am particularly worried about the sleeving).
  3. I was under the impression that the FSB was responsible for communication between utilities and the CPU, which having a lower speed compared to the CPU would affect it. Thank you for you clarifications (:
  4. This is my first time building a PC and I had trouble understanding some specification on a motherboard. I have been looking at the ASUS Z170I PRO GAMING Mini ITX Intel Motherboard, but the FSB speeds came up as a concern for me. It shows 3.40 GHz (O.C.) - 2.13 GHz as its speed, which I was wondering if it would bottleneck my i7 6700K CPU?
  5. thank you for the very informative links! I never really understood how upscaling works.
  6. "Only get the 4K if you're sitting VERY close and/or plan to connect a console to the monitor as well. 1080p outputs to a 4K display noticeably sharper than it does on a 1440p display." I have recently be told this and wanted to see if anyone could confirm whether this is true. Is 1080p output on 4k display much sharper than it does on a 1440p? I was always under the assumption that if the 1080p content had the same bit-rate, it would upscale to nearly identical quality between the 1440p and 4k monitor.
  7. I have actually wondered would 1080p upscale to 4k actually cause the image quality to decrease due to the upscaling? I have never owned a 4k screen and have been using a 24" 1080p screen my whole life. That is why I have many questions about how viable a 4k screen vs a 1440p screen is for upscaled content, since native 4k mvoies and streaming videos is so hard to come by.
  8. I just built my first desktop with the titan xp and was looking for a suitable monitor. I found 2 variants that I really liked, but wasn't sure which would be most suitable. I am currently deciding between the a 27" 1440p 144hz and a 27" 2160p(4k) 60hz monitor. I sit around 29" away from the monitor. If anyone has experience with the differences between 1440p and 4k, I would love to hear your insights. I mostly plan to use them for gaming(moba, rpg), video editing, and watching videos (youtube, netflix, movies, etc). I'm torn between prioritizing refresh rate for games, or resolution for a better video viewing experience. My main question is the resolution difference very noticeable between 1440p and 4k at around 29" from the monitor ? Does the image quality of (youtube / netflix / anime) of upscaled 1080p content look much better on the 4k display? Is the difference not noticeable enough to forgo the 144hz refresh rate? I am very grateful for any help or insight you could offer me!
