  3. So this must been a known problem but the HDMI started playing up a few months ago. The bios shows to the hdmi and the windows boot logo shows for about 10 seconds and then hdmi stops working completely.... so i had to take them hdmi cord out of the main monitor and switch it to dvi but when I tried to setup duel monitors on the 25/09/2016 thats whem I posted about this due to I had to use the HDMI port for my second monitor... I wish I recorded the driver numbers when it started and posted it but instead I did major research and found nothing.... But thanks for the links! by the way this happened after a windows update so maybe windows 10 and the nvidia driver are conflicting with each other.... I miss windows 7
  4. update! Just found something interesting. (Second Monitor connected through hdmi to vga adapter) Windows detects another screen but cannot extend or duplicate the monitor, Nvidia control can not detect it....
  5. Oh and the other thing i dont have a dvi to vga so ill have to buy one for that.... but i could switch my main monitor into the other dvi now so ill be a sec
  6. try that first idea already.... And my second monitor is a NEC MultiSync LCD 1760V (13 years old)! And yes it works on this pc......
  7. I could try the first idea but the second one is a no go because of my motherboard only having one 16x slot...
  8. Yes you are correct! When the driver is uninstalled HDMI works but no other output works! When thr driver is installed dvi works but no other outputs work! Yep, tried rolling back the driver.....
  9. jello77, The two monitors work fine, at the moment the second monitor is running my raspberry pie for the time being
  10. Crap. its a asus 950 strixs! Anyway thanks for the fast respone, unlike the people over at toms hardware!
  11. A few months ago my hdmi stoped working so I looked around and found no answers. I tried to use dvi for my monitor which is working but today when I tried hooking a second display windows did not detect it. After reading for a while about this problem I ended up completely stripping my gpu driver with DDU by Guru3d. I discovered that when the nvidia driver was not installed only hdmi worked, and when I installed the nvidia driver only DVI worked . So I left the nvidia driver installed. Only the DVI monitor shows up in control panel and Device Manager, no other monitors show up. Nvidia Driver Version : 372.90 Windows Version : 1511 Windows Build Number : 10586.589 System : CPU : core i5 4690 mobo : Asus h81m-plus ram : 8Gb kingston hyerX gpu : Asus 950Ti strixs If you need any more info just ask. origianal Post by me over at toms Hardware http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3196786/windows-detecting-display-hdmi-nvidia-gpu.html ps.
