not a big performance leap in video game, overclocking basically is just a hobby for enthusiast
And what about web browsing? Video editing?

Hey guys, Im planning on overclocking my I7-6700K (MAXIMUS VIII HERO).
But can anyone explain to me, how many performance boost will i get in games when OC'ed to for example: 4.5Ghz
Will i see a few xtra fps?
What are the things i should be careful with?
-
Nice build, If i would buy it i'd change a few things such as:
NZXT Kraken X52 if you care about looks and Silent build
ASUS Maximus VIII Hero LGA 1151 Mobo
Coolermaster mastercase maker 5 since it gives great adjustability

the master case has afaik a cutout for the cooler, should be no problem. It might be even easier if the mobo is already installed because that way, it can't move
Alright! Thank alot. Looking forward to wednesday. My first build
Specs:
Mastercase Maker 5
I7-6700K
NZXT Kraken x52
Asus Maximus viii Hero
Corsair Vengeance LED DDR4 3000mhz CL15
EVGA G2 SuperNOVA 750W
Samsung 850 EVO 250GB
Seagate barracuda 2TB
EVGA 1070 FTW

possible yes, but it's easier outside of the case. don't see a reason why you shouldn't put it in from the start, just don't power it on and your fine.
you could even close the side panel if you like
But i have to install the cpu cooler in later and that needs a backplate then? How can i fit that when i already put the mobo in the case? or is there a cutout at the back of the case?

without anything above the CPU, don`t. You`ll only risk killing it, without any reason.
Put stock cooler on, if possible, or don`t put the CPU in
Is it possible to install the CPU after i install everything? I7-6700k, Asus Maximus viii hero, Coolermaster mastercase maker 5.

I wont run it tho, forgot to mention. but its an I7-6700k. only wanna build it yet but not sure if thats the best thing to do

By Wednesday i get all my computer parts EXCEPT my Kraken X52 CPU-cooler, Can i just build it and leave the cpu open? Or should i wait till i get my cooler?

I'm not using it as a proper workstation just some mukking around and experimenting thats why im not going for a i7-6700k.
Ah ok!

Sockets on intel, such as LGA1151, 1155,1156,1150 use their numbers to describe how many pins they have, Dont pick your cpu based on your MoBo, Pick your Mobo based on your CPU!
-
If you're gonna use it as a workstation, Why not pick the I7-6700k?
For PSU, EVGA G2 Supernova 650W is a great power suppy.
For RAM go with 2x8GB since you can upgrade later on.
Videocard is mostly what you like, but i think the EVGA 1070 SC FTW gaming 3.0 is a great choice

200 is too low of a metric for time spent in games.
GTA 5
Ark
Skyrim
Arma 3
Fallout 3
DayZ
GTA 4
Arma 2
Those are just the games I can see in Steam. It's not counting games outside of Steam.
Yo dude you play ark on epic right? how much fps?

U could buy them now, but maybe wait until u can afford everything
Prices of some components might drop aswell, especially when Kaby-Lake comes out, atleast that is what I suspect
Yeah thats what i was thinking aswell.. But im really hyped to buy my PC

I7-6700K has Intel HD Graphics 530

Well GTX 1070 already droped in price.
I bought mine for 500€, and now I can find those cards for like 420€.
Not sure how much cheaper they will get, but if you are in US, you can wait 1-2 months.
Also do yourself a favor and buy samsung evo 850 instead of that cheap ssd.
It costs 20% more but it will give you 40% better overall performance: http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Crucial-MX300-275GB-vs-Samsung-850-Evo-250GB/3642vs2977
Well, I live in the netherlands and the price is 490 Euro's.. But i dont mind waiting tho I can put a R9 270x in it for a while.. But thanks a bunch on the SSD comparison. Will take a look at that and buy a samsung SSD instead

Hey guys, im thinking off just buying my PC already without GPU, Cause i feel like the gtx 1070 will drop in price and i dont have the money yet.
CoolerMaster Mastercase Maker 5
I7-6700K
ASUS Maximus VIII Hero Z170 Mobo
Corsair vengeance LED DDR4 DIMM 3200mhz
NZXT Kraken X52 Aio liquidcooler
EVGA Supernova G2 750W
Crucial MX300 275GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200rpm 2,5i
Should i just buy it today, assemble it, Get it running and just use the I7 6700k iGPU for a while till i get the 1070?

I wouldn't buy either honestly, I think they are both over priced for what you get (some handles and a removable drive cage)
Like i said, I dont mind the price for a case. And the mastercase series really got my attention, but i really wanted to know how the fan hub works and if i can fit a kraken x61 in it
-
Hey guys, Can anyone explain to me what the fan & Led controller does, does it mean that i only need to plug the fan controller cable onto one of my fan pins on the mobo? Can i also fit an kraken x61 into a maker 5? Also is the maker 5 worth it the few xtra bucks (That i dont mind tho) versus the mastercase pro 5?

Retail licenses of Win10 can used on your new PC (provided you do not use the old pc)
For OEM licenses (or the free Win10 upgrade) then no that is not transferable.
I upgraded when Windows 10 was free to download, so i cant take it with me to my new build?
-
Hey guys, can i transfer my current W10 to my new PC? only need the OS nothing else, and how?

550W is more than enough. Go for 650W if you're planning on SLI and upgrades.
Thnx.. still thinking bout getting a 1080 instead of a 1070
