  1. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll go for a new IPS gaming monitor. Right now I got 2x27" side by side, but I won't be able to do that with a 34" OLED and a 27" IPS next to it. My desk just isn't big enough for that. If I had that option, I could easily just game on the OLED and do work related stuff on the IPS. Even my browsing behavior would probably be a problem on an OLED. I've seen burn-in pictures of the bookmarks bar, and my browser is open A LOT during the day.
  2. There's a part of me that thinks, it's idiotic to choose a display that's so fuzzy when it comes to using it. A computer, to me, is something that's ready to be used in a lot of different cases, and your use case shouldn't be hindered by a monitor who has to be handled with gloves on. And then there's the other part of me who just wants the best of both worlds. Who wants the amazing response time and image quality. That being said, I think I'm leaning more towards another IPS display.
  3. I'm considering buying a OLED as my monitor, but I'm kinda worried about burn-in issues. I got a B8 tv, never had a problem, but I never really displayed static images on it for longer periods of time either. It's a different beast with computers, and that worries me a little. I game, sure, but I play games like BF, WoW etc, where the bottom row of the image never really changes. I also browse a lot, I work from home doing spreadsheets etc. How concerned should I be about burn-in? The monitors I'm looking at is the Alienware xxxDW and DWF
  4. Sometimes when loading Windows, sometimes just when Windows is loaded. He also experienced that he could use it for a hour or two, but then it crashed. That's the problem, I can't find something that just stands out. He mentioned he might've used a HWID spoofer. I've never used something like that myself, so I don't know if that can do something like that.
  5. Hi all, My brother just bought a new PC, and it's been working fine for a week. All of a sudden though, it just reboots while he was using it. After that, we can't even get into Windows, it just keeps rebooting. I tried reinstalling Windows, tried taking out the nvme and connecting a ssd instead, tried removing the RAM sticks and try them one after another, tried resetting BIOS and I tried pulling out the CMOS battery and installing it again. Nothing works, it just keeps rebooting. Any ideas before he returns it to the store?
  6. Those are the experiences I'm asking about. I haven't had a white keyboard since the late 90s, so I really can't remember how it was.
  7. Hi LTT forum, I'm considering buying a white keyboard this time, but I was wondering if any of you regret getting a white one? And if so, why?
  8. No, but they look better and cleaner I love air coolers and I really love my Noctua. But if I'm gonna build a on-display PC, then I'm probably not gonna use a air cooler.
  9. I would go with M.2 drives and probably an AIO cooler. My computer is located in our bedroom at the moment, so I need to think about acoustics too.
  10. The P3/P5 looks beautiful. Is it open in the ends though? That would probably suck when it comes to acoustics That's another thing I forgot to mention. I like a computer to be somewhat silent. I got the Define R5 case right now, and it's been really good when it comes to the acoustics.
  11. You're right, it's different for all of us. I've been looking at the Lian Li cases. I like when it's made almost entirely of glass, I was actually thinking of getting a case that I could mount on the wall. I'm probably gonna go for the exploding rainbow theme too, I just like them pretty lights I'm not gonna build it myself, so I won't have to deal with annoying cases, that won't be my problem. I do prefer a case, where the PSU is hidden.
  12. I'm building it to last 3-4 years, so my budget would be around $2500. It' gonna be a 3080 and probably a 10600/10700K.
  13. I don't know what cases costs today to be honest. Can a $200 max do it?
  14. Hi LTT, It's been ages since I last build a computer, but with the launch of the 3080, I find myself looking to build again. Can any of you recommend me a beautiful ATX case with good airflow too?
  15. Currently 1440p and I can't see that change anytime soon. It would be stupid to go for 5700 XT with a G-Sync monitor, right?
  16. Thanks. I was using GamersNexus benchmarks and from what I could tell it said that the 9700K was quite a lot in front when it comes to gaming. But I can see on your link that that's not the case. Okay, so back to 3600 I guess. I had originally thought about a 5700XT for GPU until I remembered that I got a G-Sync monitor, so I thought I would grab a 2070 Super. Would it be stupid to use the money I save on the CPU on a 2080 Super instead?
  17. Can you provide a list or link that shows which games supports that? Because after all these years, I still haven't come across more than a handful of games that supports it. I'm all for trying to build for the future, but more often than not when it comes to hardware, it's just a mirage.
  18. I hate my brain sometimes. I'm seriously considering the 9700K now as the FPS increase seems big enough to justify the price difference. What do you think? The price difference in my country and at this vendor would be $130.
  19. It's a prebuilt, so they don't ship it without it supporting the Ryzen 3600.
  20. So I'm going with my first prebuilt PC as the pricing doesn't seem to be high enough for me to consider building myself. Of course, that limits a few things such as brand selection. Just something to keep in mind, as I list the components I've chosen so far. I thought I had settled on a 5700 XT, but I began hearing some complaint about AMDs software being crap, and that made me think that maybe I should go for a 2070 Super instead? I had picked a Powercolor Red Devil 5700 XT, but I can choose (amongst others but I heard good things about this) a Windforce RTX 2070 Super for $75 more. Should I do that? I'll mainly be playing games such as BF V, RDR 2, PUBG, etc. Heres the full system: Fractal Design Meshify C Ryzen 3600 ASRock B450 Steel Legend - I could get an Asus Strix B450-F for $30 more, should I do that? 16 GB 3600MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX CL18 650W Cooler Master MWE Bronze Let me know what you think, please.
  21. I get why some of you are saying that I should just get a better GPU and leave my CPU alone. The thing is though, and I didnt put that in my OP, is that my current system would go to my gf, as her 3570K and R9 290 isnt really cutting it anymore. Plus I would use her old system as my Plex server. Thats the reason behind I want to change my whole system, as I would be able to check a lot of boxes at the same time.
  22. I have seen that argument a few places, but what does that have to do with PC gaming?
  23. Trying to build myself a new system, but having a hard time deciding between CPUs since I don't know enough about it. I play in 1440p on a gsync monitor. Current system is a 5820K and 1070. Trying to decide between these CPUs: 3600 3600X 3700X 9700K What would you choose if you used your computer for 90% gaming? The CPU is gonna be paired with a 2070 Super.
  24. 100%. Here are two results, both taken within a minute of each other, both taken on my phone and within 1 meter of the router. The lowest is what is called 5GHz2 band and the highest is 5GHz1.
  25. Alright. I've just been experiencing varying 5GHz readings depending on location and if it's the first or second band. One of them is better when upstairs, and the other seems to be better when I'm downstairs.
