  1. Thanks for the suggestions Doge and brob! My current rig: Case: Corsair Obsidian 350D CPU:Intel i5-3470 Mobo: Gigabyte G1 Sniper.M3 RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz GPU: EVGA GTX 760 Superclocked PSU: Corsair CX600M SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB HDD: WD Blue 500GB
  2. Thanks! Just one
  3. I was thinking about Noctua but they are far from aesthetically pleasing Good suggestion I know it is but I would like to go crazy with it To make it look nice I will probably need to spend a lot on custom sleeves and all that good stuff.
  4. Hey guys! It's been a pretty long time since I've been on the forum! I built a €1000 gaming PC last December and it's still going strong. Now, I am looking to build a more aesthetically pleasing PC because as my first build, my current PC is a mess 1. Budget & Location Looking to spend about €2500. Ireland. Do not need a case. I'm reusing my Corsair Obsidian 350D because I love it 2. Aim Not gaming. Looking to build a general use PC for internet browsing, movies, music and some Photoshop. The aim of this is to build an aesthetically pleasing PC so preferably matching colours Red or blue preferably. 3. Monitors Looking to buy a new monitor (See below) 4. Peripherals Only peripherals I need are monitor and speakers. I'm not sure if 4k is worth it as even 1080p would be an upgrade for me right now. If anyone could recommend a good combination for my usage that would be great. 5. Why are you upgrading? Do not have much time for gaming anymore and have just lost interest in it to be honest P.S. I've been out of the tech world for a while so forgive me. Would the crappy Intel Graphics be enough if I did go down the higher resolution road for watching movies and such? And is there new generations of CPU's coming soon?
  5. Thanks I'll try that!
  6. I only have 1 DIMM (Only got 1x8gb by mistake) and how do you clear the CMOS? I'm still a n00b.
  7. No, it freezes at the Gigabyte splash screen
  8. Hey guys, me again. I finally finished my PC but of course, something went wrong. The PC is powering on but on the splash screen, I simply can't do anything. It freezes then after a few minutes the screen goes black. The keyboard is working fine. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great. This is meant to be a Christmas gift for me and my younger brother so if something is f****d then no Christmas present
  9. I meant to say I thought I knew what I was doing, but I just don't want to ruin my first build. I have been waiting 2 weeks for Amazon to deliver the CPU and I finally got time to build tonight. Thanks for the help guys, I may just close this thread, I seem to have angered a few people...
  10. Hey guys, I finally got around to building today. I'm a first time builder but I know what I'm doing. I was having a bit of trouble mounting the motherboard and I touched it a few times when putting screws in the mounts. I'm also having a nightmare with the 24 pin and I don't know if I'm touching the case enough. Amazon haven't delivered the CPU yet so I can't even see if everything is ok. Sorry for the sloppy post but just wanted to know if touching the mobo can damage it?
  11. Definitely going to go for this monitor. Thanks guys!
  12. Oh, didn't realise it had DisplayPort, I think I'm sold on it now!
  13. I'm sure it is, but it's a never ending argument. I highly doubt it's possible to notice 3ms difference.
  14. Is there much of a difference between the two?
  15. Do you have the monitor? If so, do you game on it?
