  1. Budget (including currency): $1000 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Roblox, minecraft, eventually heavier titles Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): No existing parts https://pcpartpicker.com/list/g3ntvf I simply chose these based on ease of finding them. This build is for a friend of the family and neither them nor I are going to kill ourselves trying to find parts. The father gave an initial budget of $600-700 however changed to $1000 to make sure he got something that is "going to last". Just looking for suggestions. Thanks!
  2. Well.... figured it out.... she didnt like the new cpu. Posts fine with original 1600
  3. Ya, i just tried reseating the current cpu, still nothing. I will message back when i get in old cpu in and see if it posts
  4. Also, i really dont want too but im going to try switching back to original cpu.
  5. For shits and giggles i put my mobo and cpu in a build on pc part picker and it says this "Some AMD B350 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Pinnacle Ridge CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions" Im not sure if this would cause no display.
  6. Not sure if it matters but the lights on my keyboard say illuminated and the numlock does not change anything. My mouse wouldnt light up at all, so i have left the mouse unplugged for now. I have also tried booting without any hard drives in and no gpu and nothing. I think next step might be reseat the cpu, which is hard to not get in properly so im not sure if that would even be it.
  7. Not sure what your first question is asking, however the monitor and gpu are connected the same way they were before i started swapping hardware. The onboard display is what i tried the hdmi with and neither worked.
  8. I am using display port on the gpu but i tried hdmi on the mobo to a different monitor as well. I cant even get into the bios as there is no display being sent from the pc to the monitor. It almost seems like the computer is running fine but with zero display output.
  9. I removed the gpu, reseated the m.2, still nothing.
  10. Good morning, i have two PCs and i did some hardware swapping. My main rig has a MSI B350 gaming plus mobo with an AMD R5 1600, 16 gb corsair ram, msi 1060 6gb, 500gb ssd and 1 tb hdd. My 2nd is my htpc which has an asrock micro atx b450 pro4, amd r5 1600 (newer 12nm version), 16 gb corsair ram, zotac 1050ti, samsung evo plus 970 1tb m.2. I decided to install the ssd on the htpc, install the m.2 on my main rig, completely removed the hdd, but also swapped cpus. The htpc booted up perfectly from the ssd and recognized the cpu no problem. My main rig however will not post. It turns on, fans are running, the mobo doesnt have any of the ezbug indicator lights on showing it doesnt recognize anything, ive cleared cmos, i have left it running for 30 mins now and my monitor still doesnt see an input. Ive also tried connecting directly to mobo with hdmi to a different monitor, so i can say it isnt an issue with that. Its just odd that nothing is happening and the mobo is telling me something is wrong.
  11. Budget (including currency): $300 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Launchbox: Atari to PS3, Netflix, web browsing, etc So I am working on building an emulation/HTPC. I purchased the Fractal Design node 202 w/ included PSU. A friend is giving me his GTX 960 for free to use. So now I am down to selecting a cpu, mobo and ram. With this case I am limited to mini itx. I need wifi and bluetooth. The other side of this story is my current gaming PC is a ryzen 1600. I know some will probably recommend a 3600. If thats the case I would put that in my gaming rig and throw the 1600 in this. Just looking for recommendations for a CPU, MOBO and RAM. Thanks!
  12. I plan on playing everything up to PS1. Anything newer i will emulate on my main rig. What would you recommend for a GPU knowing that? Ive read that onboard graphics can handle PS1 but other state getting an older 700 series nvidia
  13. Hello everyone, I am hoping someone is able to assist me. I am in the thought process of building an emulation/LAN machine. Something compact that I can easily take with me. The LAN side of things I have figured out because its mostly classics like Starcraft and Unreal Tournament 2004 era stuff. I need help with the emulation side. I have emulated NES and SNES games in the past and even a couple PS3 games on my current setup. I am currently in the process of acquiring all the games I think I want. I would like to use a front-end so its all nice, neat and looks great. There are a few I have watched reviews on but I haven't chose one yet. I was looking at launchbox, coinops, and hyperspin, but i am open to suggestions. I am willing to pay if its worth it. I am also under the impression that I still need to download the emulators themselves?? If this is the case is there a list of emulators that people recommend for each console?? Is there a really good tutorial that walks through the process of downloading the front-end and emulators and then combining everything and making it all work? I cant seem to find something like this. Im sure I will have more questions the deeper I get in. I just wish it was as easy as 1 download to cover everything, games and all. Thanks for the assistance
