  1. I recently sold my OnePlus 3 to my sister after owning it for just 2 months because I plan on getting something better. So, I came up with these 2 "mobile combos" and I need you guys to help me pick which combo'd be the best in terms of performance, value for money and productivity. I'm still studying which is why building a desktop (even a mini-ITX one) doesn't appeal to me. COMBO 1 OnePlus 3T + Lenovo Y520-15IKBN; Total: [1,050 USD] This combo is the more expensive one while having near-flagship devices. With the OnePlus 3T, I would still get really good performance on the cheap, but there are a few cons such as its camera's incapability in low light, average battery life and also the fact that it is going to lose its flagship title in a few days due to the debut of the OnePlus 5. The Lenovo Y520, on the other hand, makes up for it by having a pretty powerful desktop GTX 1050 paired with a decently powerful i5-7300U, which will allow me to be productive and game at the same time. A 4GB RAM upgrade is definitely needed though, but that is a small matter. COMBO 2 OnePlus 5 (Coming soon) + Acer Aspire E5-475G-55BD; Total [~979 USD] This combo is slightly cheaper than the first one while having a flagship and an entry-level device at the same time. The OnePlus 5 has already proven to destroy every single phone in leaked GeekBench benchmarks with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. The camera's capability in low-light (images leaked by Carl Pei), its battery life improvement over the OnePlus 3T due to the more efficient SoC, plus the bragging rights I'd get for owning a flagship really makes me really want this phone. However, I have to sacrifice a little by lowering my graphical settings when gaming on the Acer Aspire E5-475G, due to the weaker, entry-level 940MX as compared to the more powerful GTX 1050 in the Lenovo Y520. Productivity wouldn't take much of a hit since the i5-7200U is a pretty capable dual core chip, so I needn't worry much in that department. So, which combo should I go with? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
  2. To be honest, I'm sourcing for 2-in-1s for my friend, and he's your "average consumer" who cares about having a product from a reputable brand and relies heavily on after sales services and warranties. So, what reputable brand do you recommend? Thanks!
  3. Any screen size and any brand. SSD not needed, but good if can get one with it for under 700 USD. Mainly surfing the web and office stuff. ?
  4. Literally ANY 2-in-1 with the best specs for 700 USD or under.
  5. Any suggestions? Budget is strictly 700 USD. Thanks! ?
  6. @LinkShulk88 1. Prevent static by grounding yourself. 2. Start assembling components on the motherboard box. 3. A strong magnet to hold random screws. 4. If the case has tempered glass panels, keep them in the box till the end of the build. 5. Zip ties will come in handy but velcro straps will be even handier. These are a few, but just make a quick Google and you'll find plenty more. Good luck! I
  7. Ah, I get you now. Hmm... seems like a good idea, although quite a mischievous one, actually. Nevertheless, I'll just get the black ones. Thanks for your help! ?
  8. What do you mean? I never borrowed in ear headphones from her or vice versa.
  9. Costs a little more than the red and black ones. Plus, they get dirty easily.
  10. I'm going to get a pair of budget earphones and I'm stumped between the two colour options of the JBL C100SI. If I go with black, I'll have to make a marking on it as my sister already has the exact same pair. However, I feel red is a little too striking. So, which one should I go for?
  11. As @Sakkura mentioned, 4 certainly is an unlucky number in China, as unlucky as the number 13 to the rest of the world. 4 is pronounced as "sì", which sounds like "sǐ" which means "die". 74 is even worse, making the number sound like "Go and die".
  12. @CardinalHunter I'd say just stick with the i7-7700K. It'll give your GTX 1080 Ti all the bandwidth it needs for gaming and since content creation is just a secondary "activity", you should direct your cash towards gaming performance. Plus, the i7-7700K is cheaper than both the R7 1800X and 1700X.
  13. I'm planning on getting a new iPhone for my mom since her old iPhone 4 is starting to show its age and appearing sluggish. So, since she's and iSheep, I could just get her a 6S or a 7 but she loves the small form factor and brick shape of the older models. So, I've decided to go with the SE. The problem now is whether the ones on my local online store are real or fake. I recently bought my OnePlus 3 off of it about a month ago and it is legit. However, Lazada is more of a marketplace where sellers put their items up for sale somewhat like Amazon. So, there are bound to be fakes out there. Here are my choices: 1. Apple iPhone SE 1 (1279 MYR/ 290 USD) 2. Apple iPhone SE 2 (1349 MYR/ 305 USD) I'm not too sure about the pricing of these 16GB models but as far as I know, the 32GB ones go for 1755 MYR (399 USD). So, since both sellers of these 2 phones have a 5 star rating, which one should I go for? Cheap without ratings or pay a little more but ensure I get an original product?
  14. I've tried sourcing over on my local online store and I couldn't find such deals. Not to be rude, but strictly based on the first 2 configurations, which one would be more powerful?
  15. Used laptops don't really appeal to me. Also, finding a true quad core in brand new laptops for under 2300 MYR (550 USD) is impossible. Sorry for not mentioning I was comparing laptop configurations.
  16. Which of the 2 is the better configuration? Combo 1: - Intel Core i5-6200U @ 2.3 GHz, Turbo Boost up to 2.8 GHz - Nvidia GeForce 940MX, 2GB GDDR5 Combo 2: - Intel Core i5-7200U @ 2.5 GHz, Turbo Boost up to 3.1 GHz - Nvidia GeForce 940MX, 2GB DDR3 Assuming the rest of the specs are exactly the same, which configuration would yield higher framerates in gaming? Thanks!
  17. Really? I never thought these low-powered chips could be overclocked enough to notice a difference in framerates. I'll give it a shot once I get it.
  18. I'm not into eSports. I'll be playing titlrs like Watch_Dogs, Far Cry 4 and Forza Motorsport 6. You know, your everyday graphically demanding games. And from my previous experience with my beloved 920M which was robbed a month ago, I could run all the said games at 25 FPS and up. ?
  19. I'm aware of that and I'm contented with running games at low to medium settings at 40 FPS. ?
  20. By the way, @AluminiumTech @Ernest_L could you guys help me decide which laptop to get? I've listed the pros and cons of the 2 which I'm debating between. Here's the topic:
  21. The HP laptop has a Nvidia 940MX too.
  22. Did some more research and found out the Acer laptop has a 62 Wh rating. How does it stack up against the HP laptop now?
  23. First of all, I'm sorry if this topic is in the wrong section of the forum as I couldn't find a suitable subtopic about batteries so the one related to power supplies was my best bet. Also, I know you can't compare battery life just by looking at mAhs and Whs. But in general, which of these 2 laptop, yes, laptop, batteries would have a longer usage time just by these 2 quantities assuming the specs of the laptops are similar. If you want to know their exact models, the 2800 mAh battery belongs to the Acer Aspire E5-575G-52H9 while the 41 Wh one is from the HP Pavilion 15-AU102TX. Thanks!
  24. Thanks! By the way, I've made a new topic listing out the pros and cons of the E5-575G and the Pavilion 15 HERE. Reply at there, ah? Thanks!
