  1. I think I found a set that'll work for me. F4-3200C16Q-32GTZR, G.Skill TridentZ RGB 4x8Gb 3200Mhz CL16. In terms for performance, would a 3200Mhz CL16 module run about the same as a 3600Mhz CL18 module?
  2. Im in the USA. I was originally wanting 64gb, but after seeing prices I decided to settle for 32gb lol I don't really need anymore, I mainly just game nowadays.
  3. There was one set from G.Skill (F4-3600C17Q-32GTZR) that was on the QVL list I was about to buy, then went to order it on amazon and it said it wouldn't be shipped till mid-july... This market is crazy right now. It was a little pricy too. Every other set I can find is $400+ and that's a little out of the budget. I'm already $2000+ deep into this project lol
  4. I'm currently in the process of putting together a new PC and I seem to be have some issues finding memory that'll work good with my setup... I haven't built in a PC to this scale in quiet a few years and ill be honest, I've become sorta out of touch to the PC community for a long time. I've got a Ryzen 7 5800x with a Asus ROG Strix x570-E. Every set of memory I find that's in stock and in my price range isn't on Asus's QVL list for supported memory. The last PC I built I didn't pay attention to this (I didn't know any better at the time) and I could never get my Corsair Vengeance set to run at the correct speed using XMP. I don't really trust myself or know anything about manually overclocking memory and would rather just turn on XMP and have it work. What are the chances I can just get a set that isn't on the QVL list and it will still work at the correct speed? I'm looking at 32Gb Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200MHz C16 (CMW32GX4M2C3200C16). Any input on what memory I should use is welcome too. I have no idea what's good and want isn't anymore... Thanks
  5. Hi everyone, I got a weird issue I've never experienced before. I have an older (Was originally windows 8 machine) Toshiba Satellite L55T-A5290. Wanna say its from the 2015ish era. I'm an Automotive Technician and it is my main laptop that sits on my toolbox for our shop program. I recently revived it from being my sisters old college laptop by swapping a SSD into it and installing windows 10. Has been working like a charm for 3 months, but this morning I went to go start it up and its stuck in some sort of boot-loop, but not a windows boot loop. Computer worked fine the day before and I shut it down through windows once the day was over. The laptop turns on, has power, power button lights on and activity lights come on. Instantly the fans ramp up and go down quickly like normal, but it does this repeatedly about every 10 seconds and goes on forever, never posting and the screen stays black. Was originally thinking a bad memory module, so I swapped one out and tried different combinations, but all give the same symptoms. (Unless both sticks fried at the same time). The fact that it doesn't post at all makes me believe its a hardware issue and not software. Would prefer to figure out this laptop rather than buy a new one, as literally all it does is use Chrome.
  6. Hi guys, So today I downloaded Doom eternal from the Xbox app through the Xbox Game pass. For about the first hour the game ran really smooth, not a single problem. Playing on the Ultra present, 144fps+ no problem. I got toward the end of the first mission and that's when the good stopped. I started having random FPS drops to like 25fps for no apparent reason. One second the game was running smooth 144fps, then like a flick of a switch the game would be limited to 25fps till I restarted the game. After getting frustrated a little, I quit playing for a couple hours. I came back and the FPS issues seemed to have gone away but I have a completely different issue making the game unplayable... Ill load into the game and into the main menu fine, start the mission and after like 30 seconds, the screen will just randomly go black for a second or two and come back, and it happens over and over again randomly. While the screen is black I can still move around and play the game and can hear the audio, just no video at all. I really have no idea what could be the issue as I literally didn't change anything from when I played the game before when it was running fine. I have my GPU drivers updated to the latest update and haven't updated them in the time where it was running smooth to this problem. Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X GPU: MSI GamingZ RTX 2060 Motherboard: ASRock B450M pro4 RAM: Corsair 16GB DDR4 Monitor: HP 25X 1080p 144hz 16:9
  7. Not sure if this would go in hardware or software, since it deals with overclocking. So I just recently built a fresh PC, got a 2700x with a 2060 and tried overclocking it. I got it to about 4.2ghz and I thought it was stable as it didnt crash while gaming for about 2 days then it started crashing randomly. Thinking it was the overclocking, I just went back to stock speeds, but the random BSOD's didn't stop. I've since then reset my bios to defaults and did a CMOS reset but still can't stay in windows for more than 2 minutes before it BSOD's. I would give a stop code but it seems to be different every time.
  8. what kind of cooling you got?
  9. Im building a new system and i was wondering what kind of performance gain you get in games with the 1070 Ti vs the 1070. I don't know if its worth the extra $50-$100. I'm only going to be gaming at 1080p 120hz.
  10. I know this is probably a really old question, but is there really any benefit from getting a 1600X over a regular 1600 if you plan on overclocking (Or the 2600X over the 2600)? I've heard things like their basically the same exact chip just the X version has more Ryzen Features that are disabled once you overclock. Also what benefits do you get over 1st gen Ryzen to 2nd gen? I plan on streaming but I don't really see the point in going for the Ryzen 7 when i'm not going to be doing it seriously.
  11. Yea im seeing a lot of ebay listings for "New" ones but their already well over MSRP and because I live in the US, its $25-$50 for shipping. Im not sure its worth buying a $200ish Micro-ATX board that's only B350 just because its White lol Could you tell me some online retailers that i could buy from that isn't so expensive?
  12. I've been trying to find this board everywhere but it seems to be discontinued or something. Only thing I can find us a reburbished one on newegg and a couple ebay listings. Its not even on amazon as "Out of stock" or anything. Just doesnt exist.
  13. Does anyone know of any White themed Micro or Mini-ITX motherboards with the AM4 socket? Im looking to make my new build in the new Corsair 280X RGB in white. I currently have the Arctic version of the MSI Tomahawk board but its ATX and the case only supports up to Micro-ITX.
  14. (Not really sure where to put this thread so im just going to put it here) Im planning on building a new desk from the one i recently built a few months ago. This current desk i just made out of simple 2x4's and some plywood and some thin sidetrim and stain to make it look a little nicer. Now that it's been a couple months I've noticed some flaws in the design that I've already worked out, but now im trying to find a better solution for the top other than plywood that will look nicer. I've been looking into using MDF but i've never used it before and don't know how it is. Any other material suggestions are welcome. What are your guys opinions on this?
  15. Im looking into building a home server mainly just for fun, doing things like getting familiar with Linux, maybe host a couple game servers for my friends every once in a while, and possibly set up a NAS. Im not looking to build a overkill current gen Xeon E5-2679 v4 server, but do any of you guys know of some cheap old hardware that could work? maybe some old gen i7's or something.
