  1. A thought has just occured to me - if I were to use the newer version of this monitor, that is with a 90W USB-C capability, would that mean that the USB 3 slots on it would still have full power capabilities even if using at 4k60 with a laptop that draws around 40-50-60W max?
  2. Yeah, figured that out from the article Alex linked. I have plenty of ways to charge my devices, it was just quite convenient doing it through the monitor since I like slow-charging my stuff. Still stands the question why is it charging them so slowly even when the USB-C hub is active but as I mentioned I assume it's the huge draw of the 4k60 monitor?
  3. Wow .. I had no idea. I mean I understand it's cheaper than the U series and hence they had to cut costs but this literally makes 0 sense LOL I mean it's not the end of the world for me and not a huge deal breaker but wow.. just why Thanks a lot for linking that. I had read quite a bit of reviews of the monitor before purchasing it but never read that anywhere. Oh well, at least now I know it's not something I've done/connected wrong. In case anyone is looking into buying this monitor and stumbles across this post in the future: I definitely can't agree with some of the cons in this article. I bought the monitor because I edit photos for a living. The color coverage IS NOT bad.. it's actually .. excellent. Without color calibration it is nearly identical to the monitor of a macbook m3 pro in terms of overall look, obviously some very small color differences that 99% of your audience will never notice. That being said, I also would not buy it brand new. I got mine off of someone from town who had used it for a week and still has 2 years and 10 months warranty (for almost 40% less than brand new, discounted price - literally was a no-brainer for me). Overall the screen is the usual high-quality (for this and I'd say even slightly higher price range) Dell screens. I was debating between this one and the Benq PD3205U but the low brightness simply pushed me away. I work in a bright rooom (naturally sunlit with no direct light) and having a 250 nits monitor for color grading is simply absurd, especially given the price. So far I am extremely happy with it!
  4. I never mentioned using the USB 3s on the laptop I meant that after turning off the laptop and hence stopping the USB-C connection the USB 3 ports on the monitor also stop. Which makes no sense since the monitor is plugged in the AC and running. At least it makes no sense to me since that's exactly how I used my previous monitor (U2722DE) and the usb ports were running and charging my phone even when both machines were turned off.
  5. Well given that the SSD is brand new and it actually works with the more powerful PSU I'd say your best decision would be to change the PSU (at least it's a cheap part). System power draw is probably not that high but in my opinion going for 800+ high quality psu is the best investment long-term wise especially as all components are starting to require much more power
  6. Hello fellow members of LTT forum, I am having a bit of a weird issue that I can't wrap my head around and solve. Let me start by listing my setup: - Monitor is Dell P3222QE - It is hooked to my PC with a DP cable to a 3060ti - It is also hooked to my working laptop - T490S with a USB-C (running at 4k60) - External KVM switch for my mouse and keyboard (I think that's irrelevant but more information never hurts). It's connected directly to the laptop and the PC Motherboard (not the monitor). Now here comes the problem: when I have the laptop turned ON the USB 3 ports on the monitor are working and I can charge my phone, use my monitor light bar etc. The second I turn the laptop off and all of the USB 3 ports stop working. What I tried so far: - Turning "Other USB Charging" to "On in Standby mode" - USB-C Prioritization is set to "High resolution" otherwise laptop refuses to display on the monitor - Turning everything off and on again (lol) Can anyone give me possible solutions? Thank Also another small thing that's kind of bothering me - I used to have 2x Dell U2722DE and their usb 3 charging was quite fast and okay. With this one, even when it's working I will need around a full day to charge my iPhone which I guess comes from the power draw of the 4k60 resoltion and hence it draws away from the power of the USBs? Or is it something I am doing wrong again.
  7. Welp I just fixed it .. and what was the problem? I connected the USB-C to the charger (AC Power - 1) and not to the USB-C Thunderbolt 3 (2) port as shown on the picture. I am leaving this here in case anyone in the future has a similar issue. I knew it was possible since that was the way I did it originally it seems but then I moved the USB-C to the charger (dumb me)
  8. But what I am trying to do is not daisy chaining? Or is it? I am getting confused. I mean what I am trying to do with the laptop doesn't seem to make sense to not be able to work? I am simply connecting a USB-C monitor and an HDMI monitor in their respective ports. Why wouldn't it work? Are the connected DP cables messing everything up? If yes what would be the solution for an easy switch between the two? I assume a KVM?
  9. Well that's what I am doing. As I mentioned on the laptop I am doing USB-C for U2722DE and then for the U2722D monitor I am connecting to the laptop via HDMI. However, it says no signal and I have absolutely no clue why.. funny thing is the week before that it was working haha
  10. Hi everyone, so here is the situation - I am working from home and I have a working laptop (lenovo t490s)+ my PC + U2722D and U2722DE monitors. The wiring is as follows: PC -> U2722DE with DP -> U2722DE to U2722D with DP again - this works perfectly, like a charm Laptop -> U2722DE with USB-C (so that I can both use it as a display and charge laptop with it) AND Laptop -> U2722D with HDMI The whole point is so that I can switch my inputs on the monitors and go to DP (on both) so that I can use with PC and go to USB-C on one and HDMI on the other so I can use with laptop without having to remove any cables. Now this is where things get tricky. Initially I was setting up only the laptop and everything worked great. I hooked up the DP cables and now my U2722D is refusing to connect to the laptop via HDMI (says no signal). I tried everything. I swear I tried everything - removing DP cables, removing PC entirely from the monitors - nothing the damn HDMI cable still says no signal (and it's brand new so I know it works). The even weirder thing - when I hook everything back up and use my laptop the U2722D is showing picture through the DP cable (still daisy chained to the U2722DE) but in some weird stupid resolution 2048 smth and 30fps (obviously unusable). I am relatively tech-savvy (don't want to boast just mentioning that I tried the basics and absolutely everything from the Display settings) and I tried pretty much everything and at this point I am literally out of any guesses.. Hope you guys can help me out.
  11. Hi everyone, ever since I built my custom PC I seem to have a weird issue. Every time I try to connect a bluetooth device my audio (and pc) freeze upon connection. This is the setup: CPU: Amd Ryzen 5 5600x (3.7GHz) 100-100000065box-190587 MB: ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS - 90MB14G0-M0EAY0 RAM: 2x8GB DDR4 3200 G.SKILL Trident Z RGB - F4-3200C14D-16GTZR (14-14-14-34) PSU: 600W be quiet! System Power 9 - BN247 Case: Zalman N5 MF SSD: SSD Samsung 860 Evo - MZ-76E500B/EU HDD: 1TB WD Blue WD10EZEX GPU: ASRock Radeon RX 550 2GB Phantom Gaming R - 90-GA0500-00UANF PCI Adapter: Gigabyte GC-WB1733D-I, 2x2 802.11ac 160MHz, Bluetooth 5.0 What I've tried to solve the problem: reinstall bluetooth drivers (although when I try to do that windows automatically installs its own before I manage to install the ones from the PCI adapter). I've tried disconnecting completely the bluetooth speakers ( I have 2 ) and still nothing. Everything else works absolutely fine apart from this issue that I have no idea how to fix.. I am also 100% sure that everything is connected correctly hardware-wise. Looking forward to some opinions/suiggestions :)
  12. I see .. guess I'll be boosting that brightness. Sucks though ..
  13. Hello everyone, I have had my iphone x for almost half a year now and it's been truly amazing but recently with the push of dark mode in many of the apps I've noticed something. When I am using dark mode in messenger, twitter, reddit wherever there are icons and such when I scroll down or wiggle up and down fast there seems to be this (bear with me as I have absolutely no idea how to explain it and screen record doesn't show it) delayed follow-up of icons almost as if I am dragging them as well, sort of like they're are bleeding (not the normal color bleed we're familiar with but more like blood dripping down). However, I noticed this happens only when brightness is below say 40%, anything above that it's not that noticeable and above 70% it disappears completely. So .. is anyone experiencing this as well? Any ways to fix this?
  14. Yeah I guess I'll just keep saving money for now. Will try to find an envy model without HDD.
  15. Forgot to mention touchscreen is a must. Never had a laptop with a touchscreen but after seeing friends with those I have no idea how I've lived so far without a touchscreen lol.
  16. Well I kind of do. Why would I go for the Envy series though ? All of them have HDDs and they consume a lot of battery? Correct me if I'm wrong of course but wouldn't that mean I won't be able to get 8h no matter what I do? For now I know that my best choice is the spectre 13" x360 8th gen i7 and 16gb ram but that's well over my budget and the only other thing that's left in my budget range is the asus I mentioned but sadly it has 8gb of ram ddr3 which is simply unacceptable in 2018 .. may as well just stick with this laptop and use my phone somehow idk ..
  17. Yeah, an upper ceiling I'd say 1250USD, that's as far as I can possibly go.
  18. Really sorry for the late reply, extremely few busy days in uni. For battery life I am quite serious .. literally the more the better, I won't be satisfied for anything that goes under 6h under wifi and chrome usage. I can buy from both markets. Right now the only laptop I have my eyes on is the Asus Zenbook Flip 14 with the i7 and mx150 - people are saying battery life easily does 7-8 hours under normal usage, okay performance for this kinda laptop but the only problem is I can't find it with 16GB ram .. and 8gb ram DDR3 doesn't sound good enough to me for this kind of price laptop.
  19. I am in the UK but have access to EU market easily. I am not too sure about the max weight just anything below 2.4 would be fine I guess ? I just want to easily carry it around and just not think about the weight at all. Display size is smth I don't care about that much anymore coming from the 17 .. I am fine with 13 to 16 and battery life .. the more the better. literally. Currently looking at the HP Envy/Spectre x360, ASUS ZenBook Flip 14 UX461UN and the Lenovo Yoga 730. Not sure if those are my best choices though. Open to more proposals and comments about the beforementioned laptops.
  20. Yeah, I know a mac is what I need but sadly it's way out of my price range. And if I were to get a mac I'd rather do it the proper way.
  21. Hello guys, I am in the market for a new laptop. Currently, I am rocking the Asus N752VX and for a student well .. it's just not the right choice. What I want from my new laptop is for it to have: long lasting battery (full day of lectures and whatnot without me thinking about battery ofc not being that guy rocking the full brightness and stuff), very good display (4k if possible because I like watching stuff on it and occasionally gaming). Yes .. gaming - I am going to be gaming extremely rarely but I do wish that when I do it will actually perform. My price limit is somewhere around the 1100$ price mark. SSD is a must. Also I forgot to mention my other main issue with the Asus - it weighs freaking 3kgs .. and I travel quite a lot. Even if we leave alone the fact that I want to carry it to university every day just traveling with it on planes is horrific so lightweight is something I'd appreciate.
  22. Yup, I just went into the recovery options and rolled it back. Skipped a whole anime without anything happening. Weirdly enough my gpu driver is missing but I'll re-install that and keep monitoring it. Thanks for the advice
  23. Well, I am extremely embarrassed to say this but I have no clue how to do that. Also once you do it doesn't the update just force itself again?
  24. Hello guys, ever since the latest windows 10 update I've been having some weird issues with my laptop (Asus N752-VX). When I'm watching anime in kissanime and I press the forward arrow (->) or backwards arrow (<-) to skip forward or backwards things go crazy. My screen starts flickering like crazy, black to normal, my desktop gets all kinds of crazy and all of that until I restart the laptop. After that - everything is fine. While I play games (CS:GO, Forza 6, Project cars) everything is good, laptop gets warm and that's about it (which is obviously normal). When I watch movies from my HDD nothing happens, everything is smooth and fine; even tried holding the forward and backward keys for like 30 seconds - still nothing. Everything is fine with youtube as well. Now many people would think okay then it's only kissanime then just don't watch from there well .. it happened in another website which name's I can't mention for scientific purposes. Then it hit me that it's not just kissanime. Same trigger - skipped a few times and everything started flickering until restart. All of that, as best as I can remember, started happening after the last Windows 10 update. I think since then my gpu drivers (Nvidia 950M) updates once as well, but I am not 100% sure. So could anyone give any suggestions? I'm really scared that my gpu might be going bad even though for screen graphics card the laptop seems to be using the integrated one in the cpu (at least that's what nvidia control panel shows).
