well i copy movies back an for alot. I also used my unraid for a lan cache but it was slow so i stopped that. and i mean i would like to just drop a movie or file and just have it be done withing a minute or 2. I was able to copy files to unraid at 500-1000mbs -

NAS Setup for file storage and Plex Media Server
Majorhavoc257 replied to Majorhavoc257's topic in Servers, NAS, and Home Lab
This is Truenas scale. i went with this because i want to run docker containers. for plex, homeassist, Piaware etc. Data loss isnt an issue because theres really nothing on it yet. how would you set up a pool with those drives? im still learning about how all this works. -

So ill start with the specs. This is built with extra parts laying around and if you have any recommendations i would like your feedback. CPU: 8700K MOBO: Gigabyte Z390 MEM: G.Skill 64GB DDR4 @ 3600Mhz GPU: 1050Ti for plex Transcode STORAGE: 1x 500Gb Nvme and 4X 8TB Seagate 6Gbs drives NET: Asus 10GB SFP+ Currently the Nvme drive is set as a Cache and the 4 HDDs are in a RAIDZ1 When i copy data to Truenas i see speed around 200Mbs but after about a min it drops to 2Mbs. Truenas and my PC are wired on a 10GB switch along with y other server that has UnRaid. Any help would be much appreciated. and if you need more info let me know.
