Hello
So I've just installed a r9 290 into my PC.
It used to have a 1080ti in it, and since I dont play games anymore, i thought id give that to one of my family.
I've installed it, plugged the cables in properly, reseated it a few times, still no joy.
What it does is I start the PC, I can hear it all boot up and then the graphics card just shuts off, and then the PC crashes. This is all on boot up.
If I go onto my BIOS or safe mode I can stay there for as long as I want without the PC crashing or anything, but I know that doesnt show a good thing for the graphics card
So asides from this, I've not only reseated the graphics card, checked its plugged in, checked its working on another computer... and checked its compatable with my motherboard.
I've also ran DDU with both Nvidia and AMD settings in the hope that it was a driver issue and the thing still doesn't work properly.
I've been on my BIOS but I'm not really sure what I'm meant to be looking for, its using the PCI slot that the graphics card is in and it is picking the graphics card up.
When I take the graphics card out of my machine and start using the integrated graphics, the PC works fine? However I get an error, saying no adl, load xyz.
I'm lost here and not sure what else to do. Any advice would be great.
im in the process of reinstalling windows - but doubt it will help with the card just shutting off on me on boot up.
to confirm, the card DOES work in another PC
