  1. I don't have access to the old card anymore. The card is being picked up in bios though, i can see it in the pci slot on there.
  2. Don’t suppose anyone else has some ideas on what I could try ?
  3. I’ve used DDU and there is defo no Nvidia or AMD software left on!! Looking through the BIOS now doesn’t look like that’s an option
  4. Hello So I've just installed a r9 290 into my PC. It used to have a 1080ti in it, and since I dont play games anymore, i thought id give that to one of my family. I've installed it, plugged the cables in properly, reseated it a few times, still no joy. What it does is I start the PC, I can hear it all boot up and then the graphics card just shuts off, and then the PC crashes. This is all on boot up. If I go onto my BIOS or safe mode I can stay there for as long as I want without the PC crashing or anything, but I know that doesnt show a good thing for the graphics card So asides from this, I've not only reseated the graphics card, checked its plugged in, checked its working on another computer... and checked its compatable with my motherboard. I've also ran DDU with both Nvidia and AMD settings in the hope that it was a driver issue and the thing still doesn't work properly. I've been on my BIOS but I'm not really sure what I'm meant to be looking for, its using the PCI slot that the graphics card is in and it is picking the graphics card up. When I take the graphics card out of my machine and start using the integrated graphics, the PC works fine? However I get an error, saying no adl, load xyz. I'm lost here and not sure what else to do. Any advice would be great. im in the process of reinstalling windows - but doubt it will help with the card just shutting off on me on boot up. to confirm, the card DOES work in another PC Specs : i7 8086k ROG STRIX B360-H Gaming 16gb RAM 750w psu corsair
  5. Hello LTT community. I'm learning Java for a few weeks now and I'm really enjoying it. Problem solving that goes with it really makes you think. I have a question around methods. Im writing a simple text game.. No user interaction is really required except for the odd part here and there. Nothing fancy. My question is, should I be using methods? Should each part of my program be split up using the methods? For example, should my Welcome section be put as a method? Then the actual game part of a method? The scorings part of a separate method? Many thanks for any help.
  6. Using only the commands listed... Head -5576 /usr/whateveryourfilepathis | tail -1
  7. The thing is I have adblock installed but she uses IE and Chrome.. Are there any program ad blocks that you know of?
  8. Hi all, I'm just literally just jump straight in here. My sister has rare learning difficulty, and she doesn't really understand anything. However, she enjoys using computers, and well technology in general. For Christmas, my parents and I put together about £700 to buy her a computer. She plays games like Minecraft on it and lego games. She is also really into her online games (And I wonder where we get the ad ware from, lol!) Here's my problem. No matter what my parents say or do, she will click anything. She can understand some English, especially tech, so if a picture was to come up of an iPad, she'd click it. She clicks on Advertisements all the time and constantly downloads crap. It's been having Avast on it and yet this is the fourth time in a week I've had to manually remove a virus (Different viruses, I was doing it correct!). What software can I download for her to prevent her a) Clicking all theses shite adds b) To prevent her from getting a virus. It's really starting to get on my nerves. Thanks all

  11. Hello guys.. With it coming up to Christmas I have been given a bit of money to spend. I have decided to use that money upgrade my PC. My PC is about 1 Year old, and is still doing me great. I just would like an opinion on what parts to upgrade first? Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated. Thanks all.
  12. Hey guys, Kinda new to the whole home theater stuff, but anyway. I don't want to spend a lot of money, but is it possible to have wireless speakers in rooms in my house, which then connect to my android tablet, which then play music / radio? if so, what are the speakers called and app and how much am i looking at? Thanks ;]
  13. Just searched for something like this on these forums, couldn't find anything... I know places like Reddit are doing them, but meh. So anyway, would anybody be interested in doing a secret santa? Obviously don't have to spend much, just on the steam christmas sales or something
