    HDMI audio splitters?

I was mostly worried about even more video input lag, the tv I'm using has a game mode that really isn't half bad. And "extracting audio" from hdmi just sounds kinda funky, probably requiring some processing, so for me it's a real concern. None of the reviews I read for any of them mentioned anything about gaming or latency, so I wanted to know if anybody had experience with that before I made a purchase.
  2. I have a HTPC connected to an older Marantz receiver and I'm using a 3.1 setup. I have been using audio over hdmi to the tv, then optical from the tv to the receiver. After much frustration, I realized that the tv only supports stereo audio over hdmi. Since my receiver is older, it has no hdmi on it, but many optical inputs and outputs (and more S-Video than you could ever need lol). I have found some splitters that pass through the hdmi, but also give an optical out that supports 5.1 audio, like this one. So, do you guys have any experience with these? Will they mess with the sound quality or increase latency a noticeable amount (I do use the system for some gaming)? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
  3. Okay, that sounds fine, I'm sure it'll pick up when we finally get 3.0. I decided that I'm going to join, so I guess I'll see you in the 'verse!
  4. Cool, to be honest that's actually more than I was expecting. I realized that the thread I saw about weekly meetups is over a year old now. Do you guys still try to do those on saturdays in some form?
  5. So I've been playing SC for a couple of months now, and I love the game, but can't convince any of my friends to get it, so I've been thinking of joining an org. I was drawn to this one in particular since I've been watching LTT videos for about four years now and remembered them plugging this org in some videos years ago, and I'm a college student with a part time job, so I can't be quite as committed as some of the other orgs require. I was wondering how active this org is, or how many people are usually in the discord? I saw that you guys meet every other week, but are there usually people around to just bomb around with in the verse?
