  1. Hiya, I recently dug up my old laptop to see if I could get it working again. So far I've had no luck at all. The thing seems to be dead-dead, no lights turn on (not even charging lights), fans don't spin, and there is no output on the screen or an external monitor. At this point, I'm not too optimistic about getting this laptop back up and running. Frankly, if it doesn't work, darn! Although, it would be nice to have it up and running again! So if anyone has any ideas on how I could go about fixing this, I would greatly appreciate it! At this point, I am open to less conventional ways to fix it - open to those ideas too! Here is what I have tried so far: Holding the power button down (lol) Disconnecting the battery - will not power on without the battery connected. Plugging into an external monitor. I bought a new charger to see if it was just dead and not charging...nope! I also tried to jump the power button. That did not work either. Thanks for the help in advance!
  2. Yes. I actually managed to get this PC to get the correct speeds buy turning off "Auto Disable Gigabit". Why would that ever need to be an option LOL!
  3. I had cat5 running to my computer. I was just testing next to my router via laptop and cat5e.
  4. Probably should've mentioned that. I actually did contact them and all they told me was to check my cable connections. Gotta love Verizon!
  5. Hi, I just upgraded my internet speeds to 1 Gbps through Verizon (East coast, USA). Therefore I had to upgrade my Ethernet cable from a cat5. I replaced it with a cat7 and I am only getting about 80Mbps up and about 90Mbps down. I made sure I was running 1Gbit Full Duplex though windows as well as verified it on my router. I don't think it is a bad cable because I tested with a cat5e and cat6 cable and got the same results. Let me know if you have any ideas! Thanks.
  6. Yes i am from the US, as i said a discrete laptop so light would be my preference. Battery life is not a big deal.
  7. Hi, So as the title says i'm looking for a good college laptop that can also run some AAA Titles. I would like something discrete and not really a visible gaming computer. My budget is around $1500 USD. Thanks for your help in advanced!
  8. Hey everyone, I was just wondering if it was possible to connect to a wireless speaker and play music through an iPhone 5s audio jack simultaneously? I am trying to play music in 2 rooms at once Is this even possible? Im also not trying to buy anything if possible. If it's not possible please leave some suggestions on what I can do! Thanks, Tropic
  9. Is there a way to check if a part is broken or failed? Just did a stress test...it seemed to be working fine...i should also mention that CS:GO runs fine without any problems...if that helps you help me
  10. Tried all this...none of them worked but thanks anyways!
  11. Hey all, I've been having a problem with my 950 for a while. Not sure what the problem is but i know that GTAV and Fallout 4 are not working at all! Like they won't even start without crashing! I just started to open other programs to see if there were any other non-working programs...i found that not even WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER worked. Think its a driver problem but i really have no idea at this point. I tried updating drivers, uninstalling crap, reinstalling more crap but nothing seems to work! I even took out my gc and tried to play GTA...it worked but was running at like 2 FPS..If anyone can help i'd REALLY appreciate that(i haven't played video games in 3 weeks..i'm going through withdraw lol). Also i can run CS:GO and Unturned not sure if that changes anything but just putting that out there. Thanks, Tropic
