    Is it time?

Wow, the nvidia side of the gsync and freesync battle is a lot more expensive. The monitors that offer gsync are a lot more than those with freesync. Plus amd graphics are cheaper right now.

    Is it time?

If thats the case and it seems reasonable. Should I go for AMD's solution of freesync with a rx 580 or something? Currently game at 1080p on a 60hz panel Keep hearing that 144hz refresh rate is like seeing a completely different game.

    Is it time?

There is no concern of bottlenecking a 1080 with this setup?
  4. So the main parts of my build are: CPU: i7 4790k 4.4Ghz Ram: 8GB 1866Mhz (2 x 4GB) Mobo: MSI Krait Z97s GPU: EVGA GTX 970 Is it time to upgrade this system or just upgrade 1 or 2 components? I feel like I will get the most bang for the buck by upgrading my GPU. However, it seems like now is a good time to upgrade the CPU/RAM/Mobo platform. Although, I don't feel like I have much of an issue as far as what I play and use. I guess I am curious if I upgrade the graphics would the main components cause me to have a bottleneck?

    upgrade gtx 970 or monitor?

Main titles I play are Battlefield Series, Battlefront, Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, Fortnite. Common FPS games. Most games I play get 75fps or higher depending on the settings. Usually high settings or more depending on the title. If I upgrade the monitor to a 144hz display then I would not really be taking advantage of it because I know the 970 would not be able to hit those fps in most titles.
  6. So I am having a dilemma. I want to upgrade my monitor to a 120 or 144hz panel. Currently using a 27" 60hz 1080p monitor. My gpu is an EVGA gtx 970 OC version. Running on an i7 4790k. I wonder if I would be better of upgrading my gpu or monitor. Which would you recommend?
  7. I am starting fall semester soon. I currently have a mid-2015 15" MBP i7 2.2Ghz 16GB ram and 512GB SSD. As well as this: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/T7PbpG (Actually has 2 WD Black 2TB HDD) I am wanting to sell both and try something different. I want to get a 13" laptop with decent specs: Quad core 8th gen 16gb of ram (8gb if upgradable) 512gb SSD (smaller if more can be added) Thunderbolt 3 is a must. Graphics not much of an issue. I will get an external graphics enclosure and run it docked when at home. Looking for something clean and non gamer looking laptop. Would like to keep it under $1200. The lower the better.

    best of both worlds?!?!

https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/new-dell-g5-15-gaming/spd/g-series-15-5587-laptop/fncwfs622s This seems like a crazy good deal for the hardware you are getting and would allow me to play any games I would want. I might do some upgrades to the storage drives. But other than that it would be ready to god for me.

    best of both worlds?!?!

They have been the best value as far as hardware you get for the price I have seen so far. Only thing for me is that I would have to relearn my development environment moving over from mac currently.

    best of both worlds?!?!

Wanna say it was either a review from the verge or cnet. they praised the fact you get awesome hardware but the screen flexed like crazy and the keyboard could be pushed in until you hit components.
  11. Grabow

    best of both worlds?!?!

Wow the Dell G5 with an i7 and gtx 1060 6gb seems like a steal! I have seen some reviews saying the build quality is complete shite. But at that price!

    best of both worlds?!?!

Do you think the surface book is overpriced for what it is?!

    best of both worlds?!?!

Gaming laptop or Thin and Light Laptop: Doesn't bother me but thin and light would be ideal Weight: the lighter the better Budget: $1500 maxish CPU: i7 (probs anything lower is outdated) def i7 Location: USA Screen Size: 15 inch would be ideal Battery Life: don't really care ISP/TN Screen?: No preference really

    best of both worlds?!?!

I heard the same thing. But I have also heard people love em! Always two sides to a story. I am wanting a laptop. Tired of doing the dance to my gaming PC(desktop) and MacBook pro. It is necessary how ever for my needs. Was wondering a decentoy speced laptop that might be able to dual boot windows 10 and Mac os. Alternatively I could just learn the web developer environment on PC and would solve my issue!
  15. I currently have two systems: MacBook pro 15 mid 2015 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/T7PbpG I am a part time web developer and use the mackbook for developing web sites and web apps. I just find it easier to run my environment for developing on my Mac. Gaming PC obviously plays game. Mostly blizzard games and battlefield series game! Was wondering what would be a good switch to. Thinking about the surface book 2 because of the versatility. But it would be a huge learning curve to switch my devloper environment to PC. But if I could have one system that did it all that would be ideal. Also something like the Razer blade seems like it would be ideal!
