  1. Hi, I am building a new pc soon and was wondering what the community thinks about what motherboard I should get. My build will be composed of: CPU: Intel i5 7600k (https://www.umart.com.au/newsite/goods.php?id=37770) Motherboard: Undecided RAM: 16gb (2x8gb) 3200mhz Corsair Vengeance LED (White LED) (https://www.umart.com.au/newsite/goods.php?id=35671) Video Card: Gainward GeForce GTX 1060 3GB (https://www.umart.com.au/newsite/goods.php?id=36245) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper D92 (also wondering if this is a good cooler) (https://www.umart.com.au/newsite/goods.php?id=29236) I already own, and will be using for the build: Case: Nzxt S340 (White) HDD: 1tb WD Blue HDD PSU: Corsair VS550 (550 watts, non modular) The theme for the build is White, Black and RGB, I love RGB however I don't want the stereotypical 'Gaming RGB Spaceship Design' I would like a fairly simplistic motherboard with white accents (so like not a ROG Strix board). And I will be using this build for, Gaming (Overwatch, CSGO, Warthunder, Battlefield, H1Z1), occasionally light video editing and rendering, and general web uses. And I'm kind of on a budget, however I want the motherboard to be good quality and something I wouldn't need to upgrade for a few years, so I wouldn't like to spend much more than $280 AUD on a motherboard. So basically I was wondering If the Cooler Master Hyper D92 was any better than the Hyper 212 priced the same at $49, and also the motherboard i should choose out of: MSI Z270 SLI Plus (https://www.umart.com.au/newsite/goods.php?id=37836) Gigabyte Z270X-Gaming 5 (https://www.umart.com.au/newsite/goods.php?id=37778) MSI Z270 Krait Gaming (https://www.umart.com.au/newsite/goods.php?id=37834) If you could please simply reply with your opinion, it doesn't have to be long, maybe just the one that looks the best to you. Thanks.
  2. Is the graphics card overclocked? Usually if the card is overclocked too far it can crash and cease to display image to the monitor. This is temporary and can be fixed with a restart, that is if it does not fix its self without. But usually all that happens is the program will crash/close. What to do (not in order, but do them all): 1. Check that the computer is definitely shutting down, rather than the graphics card not showing any image. 2. Make sure you are up to date on graphics drivers. 3. Monitor your temperatures while doing graphically intensive tasks, to check that nothing is overheating (cpu and gpu). To do this I recommend NZXT Cam. https://camwebapp.com/
  3. The logitech G231 Prodigy is similar to the G430 and identical in design, but is orange, not blue and is updated. https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Microphone-Consoles-Smartphones-981-000625/dp/B01K4AE4MK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481944527&sr=8-1&keywords=g231
  4. So I've uninstalled and re-installed drivers, and although I have noticed minor improvements, it is not back to performing how it should be. While playing a game of CS:GO Arms Race I had NZXT Cam running as I find it great for monitoring hardware when gaming. I made sure no un-necessary programs were running, and that the gpu fan was spinning. For the first 2 minutes of the game the card was running at 1056MHz, at 49c and fps in between 60-80.The card then dropped down to 880MHz, at 40c and about 40fps, this lasted for around 4 minutes and the majority of the game. Towards the end of the game I noticed an increase in performance with the card running at 1108MHz at 43c and 85fps. Although this does seem like throttling to me, the temps are relatively low.
  5. About two months ago I built a new rig, I have had no problems with it and it gamed well. But just in the last week or so I have noticed a significant drop in performance when gaming, usually it can run CS:GO in 1080p, High Settings at around 200fps but now I can only achieve about 80fps averaging out at around 40fps and sometimes dropping below 20fps,and occasionally to 0. This can make gaming quite an un-pleasant experience.
