  1. Hello, I was just wondering if this exists anywhere as I'm currently trying to set up a near wireless setup using retractable cables and magnetic adapters, just one problem though I cant find one for USB type-B (printer cables). As I have a i think 25 key AKAI midi controller that I don't always want on my desk. So if not a direct magnetic adapter for type-B is there maybe a really small type-B Male to micro-B or type-C female? If you're confused on what I'm asking feel free to ask and I'll try to explain it in a less autismo way.
  2. I'm honestly just curious at this point if anyone might have some insight or just a rough guess of when we might be seeing the RTX 3000 series back in stock again. I know it's basically a meme at this point but I've been trying to buy a 3090 since launch in September and haven't seen any stock available anywhere. I'm guessing that I probably won't be able to pick one up until like june-july but I really don't want to wait that long as I need more vram for revit than my 1080 ti gives me. So I'm stuck between just waiting in the meantime or buying an overpriced titan or quadro. Any idea for stock or suggestions anyone?
  3. As I'm sure you're all aware it is completely impossible to find a sub $200 graphics card even worth it's salt during the holiday season. Well of course I had a friend come to me and ask "Hey, can you build me a good gaming pc for like $500 before Christmas." I immediately asked him if he was going to be ok with buying used hardware and fortunately, he said yes. The thing was though I didn't fully expect how bad the GPU shortage is was back in December, and I spent over 2 months scrounging eBay, craigslist, offerup, Facebook marketplace, but I could not for the life of me find a decent graphics card for under $200. Well as you can see I ended up getting him the ASUS Strix GTX 1070, and oh boy was this thing a mess. Though from the eBay ad I knew it at least worked but one fan was dead. So, I thought ok I can just grab a random case fan and well just zip tie it to the graphics card. Though when I got it the PCI-E slot cover was bent, the cooler had some oxidation, and 1 fan was broken too. The thing is that I actually had to give it what I called "Turbo Mode" and well to sum it up I set the 120mm fan to 60% rpm and then didn't allow the other 2 fans to turn on until the card reached 82°C. Because I wasn't going to have the 2 remaining fans on the GPU screaming at 100% all of the time because the card detects the 1 broken fan. So I warned him about the Turbo mode and told him the workaround for it in the meantime and luckily he said it only ever did go into Turbo Mode" 2 times. Both of those were from running Cyberpunk for 6+ hours and the room temp was probably around 74-80°F. Thank God, about a month later I received the replacement fans and swapped them out for him. Now he has a fully functioning PC that doesn't become a Boeing 747 on the rare occasion.
  4. Hey guys I've been on the hunt for a new mouse for a few years but can't seem to find the perfect one yet and was hoping someone could maybe help me out. I've been using a Corsair M65 RGB for the past few years and I'm starting to get some issues with left click registration now. So its time to move one, I love the M65 mouse specifically for its vertical profile. Its really the shape that attracted me to it as previously I was using a Razer ouroboros (I know its heavy, slow and expensive, I was 15 and the case looked cool lol). I also use a Logitech G305 on the go but I can't use it for more than 40+ mins without getting cramps in my hand as for my size hands if I palm grip it my fingertips almost touch the mouse feet on the bottom. Really what I care about honestly is the shape of the mouse or really its vertical profile, Its been really hard to find a mouse with that similar long progressive slope to the front with a steep drop off in the palm. Also with this profile the overall height of the mouse is kind of important to me, I could probably deal with another 1/4" but anything past that would tilt my wrist too much. I don't mind having large wings on the side for thumb/pinky rests and weight doesn't really matter either. If I could say what could be improved on over what I'm currently dealing with on the M65 is maybe a slightly wider horizontal palm area (over corsair logo), no "sniper" button, and if possible slightly lighter. I don't mind having to spend more to get something I really want. I really like the M65 just that damn sniper button has pissed me off so many times when trying to play aggressively I go make a shot and the cursor moves half of what I expected it too. I don't know if corsair changed the software to allow you to program it to whatever dpi you're currently using rather than a preset but its still really annoying. If I could get some help with this it would be greatly appreciated I've been trying to find a better mouse for about the last 2 years and I can't justify spending more money just to get another mouse with a sniper button on it ya know. Also sorry if this is super specific or not specific enough I'm to well versed in mouse terminology lol. If there's any other information I could give to help with this please let me know and I'll respond ASAP.
  5. So I'm having an issue, my friend's Samsung Galaxy S7 seems to be able to detect and cast to my Hisense 55H7B TV. With my Google Pixel XL (1st Gen) I keep trying to find the Hisense to cast to but it only comes up with the Samsung TV in another room. So I've tried the basic resetting the router and reset both TV's to default. I've tried this multiple times and I never can find the Hisense TV. Does anyone have any ideas to go from here.
  6. Hello, I'm trying to figure out what CPU I should get for an HTPC. The system will not be used for gaming at all just media content, internet browsing, and word. I'm trying to figure out if there will be any real benefit to regular usage such as the speed tasks such as startup, opening programs, using chrome. If you have any suggestions or if I should just go with something else let me know. Thanks. here's the build so far:: CPU: Ryzen 3 2200g or 5 2400g MOBO: Asrock AB350 gaming-itx/ac RAM: G.skill Aegis 8GB 3000mhz SSD: Kingston A400 120gb HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB Case: Silverstone Sugo SG13B Power Supply: Silverstone SFX 450w 80+ bronze
  7. So I'm sure that everyone reading this thread knows about the recent huge inflation of RAM prices in particular DDR4, DDR3, and to a lesser extent GDDR5. Everything seemed to double now fortunately for me I joined the Ryzen group just when Ryzen Launched so I picked up a G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4 16GB 3200mhz kit for $159.99 which still was an overall inflated price. Though now to get that same kit of memory it costs $205.99, an increase of $45.99 in price. Though the importance here is that Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix are being sued for what they are directly causing in the RAM market. This specifically as shown from my own personal experience before is just one example of the massive spike in RAM prices. "DRAM saw a 47 percent jump in price in 2017, the largest jump in 30 years." (Wuerthele, 2018). Including with this is the fact that this a class action lawsuit for anyone who purchased RAM from July 1, 2016, to February 1, 2018. Now that may be a long time span but if we look at the PCpartpicker price history on a Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3200mhz (2x8) kit of ram back to April 29, 2016, the price of that RAM kit was $77.99 on Newegg.com. Now if we look at the price of that ram kit on February 1, 2018, it costs $219.99 from Newegg.com. As we had heard about before the Chinese Government was conducting an investigation into the RAM manufactures for foul play but now there is a full-blown class action lawsuit. The interesting part though is that the law firm that previously had charged the RAM manufactures with price fixing in 2006, Hagens Berman is once again leading this case against them. It will be interesting to be seen how this lawsuit comes to fruition as they were certain "Acts of God" throughout 2016-2018 that could be argued to have caused the shortage or part of it resulting in the inflation of prices. Though ultimately the courts will end up deciding this factor. 8. Hey so don't know if anyone's still here but I'm starting to have issues with the computer again now I'm getting a BSOD almost every 7 mins after startup IRQL-NOT-LESS-OR-EQUAL-TO.
  9. Hey thanks guys for all of the replys so after testing alittle more when I tried testing the dead card I literally heard something sizzle. And some resistor is now fryed (photo attached). So I'm sure that's dead and I'm pretty sure you guys are right this power supply is probably gone too. Both of these parts are 5 years old so they're probably at end of life cycle. Just sucks that both had to go at once
  10. So I'm pretty confused by this one as at first I simply thought my graphics card had died but now I'm having some other issues. My build: (previous) My build: (current) Ryzen 1700x @ 3.8Ghz 1.42v Ryzen 1700x @ 3.8Ghz 1.42v Gigabyte x370 gaming k7 (F9a) Gigabyte x370 gaming k7 (F9a) 2x EVGA 980 4GB EVGA 980 4GB Corsair CX750M Corsair CX750M Corsair M500P Corsair M500P Seagate Barracuda 3TB Seagate Barracuda 3TB Cooler Master MA610P Cooler Master MA610P 4x Corsair ML 120 RGB 4x Corsair ML 120 RGB So I was in the middle of an overwatch game when all of the sudden my computer just turned off. At first, I thought it overheated so I let it sit. When I smelled it smelled exactly like a hair dryer (normally doesn't after shut off). The tried to turn it on but only heard a click in the power supply and that was it. So I did standard troubleshooting pci-e slot switch, ram slot switch, one graphics card at a time, plugged in not plugged in all of that. It ended up being whenever I plugged in graphics card A to the power supply it just did the one click and didn't turn on. So I figured it must be a dead card, pulled it out and put the other one in just solo. Well after running just one card now I can't overclock my CPU anymore, either I'll get into windows for literally 2-3 seconds then reboot, or the thing will just boot loop until it resets the bios itself. Honestly, I'm really confused with this and have no idea whats going on. I know I was pushing the power supply with a 1700x overclocked and 2 980's but I'm honestly just hoping its one or the other and not both. I'm going to take a better look at the card in a few days and see if its just the card or the power supply. If anyone can help please let me know.
  11. Thanks every for the responses. Another thing I've been considering is getting a Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX tempered glass and modding the top and front panel for better air flow. Would It be worth the time? Cause right now im either thinking the Fractal Meshify or the CM C700p.
  12. I'm looking to find a good mid or full tower case that has airflow and few other things. I'm willing to spend a decent amount on a case $80-$250. I like my case to be nice as its a centerpiece for me. Currently, I have an NZXT H440 Razer edition with every fan slot populated. Heres the rest of my build. Build: - Ryzen 1700x - NZXT Kraken X62 - Gigabyte GA-Ax370-Gaming K7 - Evga Gtx 980 4GB - Corsair 700w PSU Heres the things I really want in a case: - Good Airflow - Tempered Glass - PSU shroud - RGB(if it has it if not at least viewable from the front) - Good Aesthetics (I really like the CM H500p just not its crap build quality,) Things if possible - angle/front facing I/O - 1-2 optical drives (not necessary) If anyone has any good recommendations let me know thanks?
  13. yup other than the monitoring software thats it, only 1 software at a time also. Thats why im going crazy because this whole predicament seems crazy.
  14. It's around 3-10 FPS difference in most games so if that really matters then go for it. Also if your monitor can't go above 60 FPS then there's not much to worry about. go for the cheaper one if budget matters most.
  15. I'm using Ryzen master, CAM, CPU-Z, and motherboard monitoring, all of them are reading the same temps
