  1. Budget (including currency): 4000EUR Country: Portugal Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AAA Single Player Games @ 4K 120Hz Other details: Tiny but Mighty Build PCPartPicker Inspiration: Hey Peeps, I've been looking to build a no compromises SFF build for a long time now, but have had a hard time finding a case that can fit a non-FE 4090. Well, Optimum Tech just posted a build with basically the specs that I want in a SFF case. The only things I would upgrade are as follows: GPU: I would go for a 4090 instead of the 4080, but the 4080 he uses in the video is actually bigger then the 4090 I'm planning on buying, so I think it'll be fine. SSD: I would go for a higher performing 2TB SSD PSU: This is the one is the one I'm most conflicted about. He uses a 750W PSU, which I know is fine even for a 4090, but I would like a bit more breathing room. I'm looking ate the V SFX Gold 850 ATX 3.0 Fully Modular SFX Power Supply | Cooler Master or V SFX Platinum 1100 ATX 3.0 Full Modular SFX Power Supply Unit | Cooler Master. With the 850W I would save a little money and be sure that it would fit in the case no problems. The 1100W is more about futureproofing but I don't know if the protruding connectors would cause me any trouble in the build, also a lot more expensive. Anyway, let me know what you guys think.
  2. Thank you for your thoughtful reply! For the cooler: I considered it, but I think it will be a close fit on the case. Also, do you think one of those coolers can handle a 7700x or future 7800X3D? For the storage: As I said in a previous reply I really do not need the extra storage as i only download one game at a time and have a NAS for my media and files. PSU: I figured i needed a 1000W one Do you think is worth it to go for an ATX 3.0 PSU?
  3. For the CPU: Yeah I don't really mind wating but is the extra money worth it for the performance bump? As for the cooler: Hard to find a better air cooler than the NH-D15 and I really don't want water coolers anymore. For storage: I have really fast internet so I only have what I'm playing currently downloaded, extra storage is unecessary as I have a NAS.
  4. I have no issues going with Intel and yeah I thought I would need a 1000W PSU.
  5. Budget (including currency): Unlimited but within reason Country: Portugal Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Single Player from AAA to indie games. Literally only gaming Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): LG C2 as monitor so 4K 120Hz Hello friends! I have the opportunity to build a completely new PC from scratch as I will move to a new place and can put my PC budget inside my budget for renovations (hence the unlimited* budget). I have been building PCs for the better part of a decade now and went from being someone who likes to tinker to someone who only wants things to work as I got older and stopped having time. I want an almost console-like experience with this build. Therefore, here are some must-haves and nice-to-haves that I came up with: Must-haves: Air Cooling: I don't want to deal with liquid cooling anymore, even with AIOs, as nothing beats the reliability of an air cooler. Also, I feel that with high-quality air coolers, I don't leave any performance on the table. No RGB: I cannot overstate how much I hate RGB, not only for the looks of the hardware but also because I feel that the RGB software makes our computers slower. Nice-to-haves: Smallest case footprint: I don't need (or want) the hassle of a SFF build, but I want my PC to be as small as possible without compromising its simplicity. The deciding factors are GPU compatibility and thermals. Having all of the above in mind, I have come up with this build configuration: https://pt.pcpartpicker.com/list/bthvXy CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 4.7 GHz 6-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black 82.52 CFM CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5600 CL36 Memory Storage: Crucial P5 Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive Video Card: MSI RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X 24G OC GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB Video Card Case: Lian Li O11 Air Mini ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: SeaSonic FOCUS PLUS 850 Gold 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply The part I'm most conflicted with is the CPU, as I don't know if I'm leaving performance on the table by not going for the 7700X. I'm not married to any particular vendor or brand; the only thing is that I try to go with "known for their reliability brands", such as Seasonic and Noctua. To reiterate, the philosophy of this build is simple and reliable but high-performing gaming. Thanks in advance for your advice and critiques.
  6. Hey peeps, I have one of those early G-Sync monitors that only have one displayport output but i've been working from home from my laptop and want to use my main monitor that is connected to my gaming tower as a second display. I don't want do disconnect the cable everytime, so, is there such a thing as a DP splitter that I can as an input changer? If so, can you guys recommend one? Cheers
  7. Hello friends, My parents are moving and will basically build the house from scratch, so i've persuaded them into wiring up the house for ethernet. They already have a Google Wi-Fi system at their current place and (as much as i wanted to) i can't install a Ubiquiti setup because they are very tech illiterate and i want to keep the support calls to a minimum. So I was wondering if i can hardwire the existing pucks for better speeds. The setup would be like this: Modem ----- Main Puck ----- Unmanaged Switch ----- Puck 2 ----- Puck 3 Would that work? and if anyone knows how i cloud set this up it would be much appreciated. Thanks
  8. What up y'all, I used to have two monitors but I moved to another country and could only bring one and i miss it a lot. So, i want to buy a 27" secondary monitor and a vertical stand because my desk real estate is lacking. Anything 1080p 60Hz is fine as long as the colours are not garbage. FYI I'm living in Portugal so Portuguese sites prefered but anything EU based is fine. Thanks in advance.
  9. Hey guys quick question, I`m buying a new laptop this summer and i have a question concerning the SSD and Windows. So, this laptop comes with only 256Gb of NVMe storage and naturally that`s not enough for me so i want to get an upgrade. But the laptop only has a single NVMe slot so i would have to take off the original SSD with the Windows installation on it. How would i go about doing the upgrade? Would i have to buy windows again just so i can upgrade? Would it be better to upgrade before 1st boot or after? Thanks in advance.
  10. Hi, every day when i turn my computer it says that the network i'm connected to cannot provide internet (that little yellow warning sign) but my phone is running just fine. I have resorted to the command center and do a bunch of commands, but every day the same thing. Recently i have jus used ipconfig /renew. It gives me an error (An error occurred while renewing interface Ethernet : The requested address is not valid in its context.) but i wait 10 seconds and it works. Any one know how i can stop this. I use Powerline Ethernet if that is something important to know.
  11. So, the screen on my Galaxy S7 edge cracked and the bottom 1/4 of the LCD is really bright and flickering. It's not unusable, I've been using it this way for about a week now, But it's really annoying. I've have though of three possibilities: 1 - I suck it up until march or something when the S9 will probably be released, i would buy it anyway because i change phones every two years. 2 - I repair it for about 300€ and skip the S9. 3 - I buy a new phone, probably the OnePlus 5T. I would like you guy's opinion on the pros and cons of each one. Thanks
  12. I just completed a build and i have three HD120. They lit up and are working but they don't change color like they should when i press the physical buttons to change colors. Any one have any idea why?
  13. So, I've been looking into console gaming again for a long time now and want you guys's opinion on my two choices. I've been a PC exclusive gamer for a long time now and miss the feeling of sitting on a couch and just playing a dumb game and not worrying about anything. That said i can't stand console level performance so the PS4 and Xbox One are out of the question, but when i saw the Xbox One X performance i was hopeful that i could console game again. Mainly i want to play games that are not on PC like Madden and Red Dead. But the Switch is the more fun console and definitely the exclusive king and very much cheaper and actually available right now. So what do you think?
  14. We all know that Coffee Lake launches on Oct 5th but, since i have never bought a CPU on launch before, i don't know when it becomes available to buy. Does someone know either from past experiences when i can buy that?
  15. Been thinking of buying the 1080ti, but I want to know if it's overkill for 1440p 144Hz gaming.
  16. I really doubt that. Intel's price for their flagship mainstream CPU doesn't change that much and 500 would be suicide for then.
  17. That's how Intel is responding to Ryzen it's the first time i have been exited for an Intel release.
  18. Probably just as much as a z270 if not a little bit more (not too much).
  19. Hey man, how are you? I am going to build a new rig soon and was thinking of going with the 7700K too, but Coffee Lake is just around the corner (Rumors have launch date on October 5th) and you will gain 2 more cores with no single thread performance loss!! And also you will (probably) gain a little bit more MOBO "future-proofing" (z170 and z270 are going away). The rest of the build is pretty legit. Cheers
  20. I'm moving countries and cannot bring my PC with me and because of that I'm building a new rig. I have my mind set on Intel because of my specific use case. That said I am moving next week to Portugal and want to have a PC as soon as possible, although I have a pretty good laptop and can handle with that for a little while. So, do you guys have any idea when Coffee Lake is coming out and if it is a little far away should I wait anyway or just go for the 7700K? P.S: Since I'm moving to Europe and know nothing about pc building there, can any EU or specifically Portuguese members help out on where to buy stuff. Thanks
  21. Great. Also i've herad midia markt is a good option also
  22. Do you guys use Amazon from the other EU places that have it like Spain, Germany and France?
  23. E ai, tudo bem? Vou pra Lisboa em setembro e queria saber em que lojas ou sites ai de portugal vcs compram componentes pra PC/ Bom saber que os Portuga tb gostam de PC.
