  1. I've been using MadVR for years, and now i can't live without it's awesome smooth motion feature. Even on low end hardware ill use MadVR (with very toned down settings) just to be able to use SM. Newer versions of MadVR are no longer able to play well while also tonemapping HDR on my older devices now .. Older versions do work, but i often get an annoying, small, random blinking dot in the picture when watching HDR on an SDR display. My bedroom "setup" is an old TV that i tend to watch TV series on before bed. I use an antient HP USDT with a 3rd gen i5 iGPU, lol. I do have a mini PC with a 7th gen iGPU. Maybe ill try that. Anyways, is there anything similar to MadVR's smooth motion, but does not require also using the MadVR renderer? Cheers
  2. I have a couple of those cheap NVME to PCIE cards. Built a PC out of old parts to give to a kid. Like ancient parts... 4690 / R7 265, lol Needs an SSD. What are the chances i'll be able to boot from an NVME card? Should I just buy SATA? Cheers
  3. Thanks, wanted to make sure its ok before I give it away.
  4. I tossed together a PC today out of parts i had laying around. CPU is an i5 4690 with an old pure rock slim cooler. MX4 paste. I ran IBT on it and it went to 100c a few times. I pulled off the cooler and reseated it. Now i get.. AIDA64 idle 30 max 71. IBT idle 30 max 93. I vaguely remember there are certain stress tests that make certain CPUs get extremely hot. IIRC my i3-4170 wanted to melt in a certain version of prime95 back in the day. Is this what's happening here? Or do i just have "hot chip" lol Cheers
  5. That's really strange. Because, i did find another monitor that looks even clearer at 60 Hz, and posted proof (there are others too) Buying the ASUS
  6. Older consoles dont have ai upscaling. Im talking about this. Max refresh 120 60 Your blanket statement does not apply to this OLED monitor. EDIT: ASUS PG27AQDM at 60
  7. I still play older consoles at my desk, from time to time. My current 1440p monitor handles 1080p okay. Not all do though. Just wondering as i dont have space the space to add it to my set up. It will have to replace a monitor. Cheers EDIT: Dang.. its got pretty bad response times for 60hz stuff.. for an OLED .... NM
  8. Wow.. Dell "support" is the worst I've experienced in quite some time. Def never buying dell ever again.
  9. Dell G2723HN supports both DisplayPort 1.2 connectivity with your personal computer. If the video or graphics card (GPU) on your personal computer supports DisplayPort 1.2, it is required to change the monitor to DisplayPort 1.2 mode. Note: The default factory setting on the Dell G2723HN is DisplayPort 1.2 (DP1.2). Press on the joystick (Figure 9) on the monitor to enter the On-Screen Display (OSD) Menu. Press up or down to highlight Input Source in the menu and press on the joystick to select. Press up or down to highlight DP in the menu. Press and hold on the joystick for approximately 10 s until the DisplayPort configuration message appears. Does not work at all. Config doesn't even come up
  10. Hello.. I got a new monitor in the mail yesterday (G2723HN.. it was super cheap). For the life of me I cannot get it to work on display port. Tried 3 cables and 2 PCs so far. I tried the PC I bought it for (Lenovo M710q i3-7100T iGPU), and then an old one I had laying around with a R7 265. Nether work. I could try my main PC (2080 Ti), but it would be super duper annoying to set it up. Safe to say the port is dead?
  11. I use cheap HP USDT PCs for many things. I've found that they run just fine with a 60mm Noctua in the front and no rear fan. Problem is they error on boot, and wait for you to press F1 due to no fan attached. I haven't found a BIOS setting to disable this. Could I just jump the rear fan header with a MB pin jumper? Cheers :P
