  1. So about a year ago, my PC died on me. I thought it was the Power Supply and replaced it, but still it did not work. I hung up my headset for a year and now I'm back to fix the problem. Specs: CPU: Intel i5-4690k CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i GPU: Gigabyte Windforce GTX 970 PSU: Cooler Master Masterwatt 550w RAM: G Skill Sniper DDR3-1866 16GB Motherboard: Asus Z97-A USB 3.1 LGA 1150 HDD: 120GB OCZ SSD and 1TB WD Black HDD Build Completed: May 2015 The old power supply I believe was failing, because at random the computer would shut off. The old unit was a corsair CX750M. I replaced the PSU with Cooler Master 550w Masterwatt and the same problem continues. (If No GPU) If I unplug the PCI-E cable from the PSU, then the computer will boot, but no signal is sent to the monitor. (If GPU) If the PCI-E cable is plugged into the GPU, then the computer refuses to boot. All of the LEDs on the motherboard will light up, but the power button doesn't do anything. Now, you might be saying "bad motherboard" but heres where it gets weird. I tried everything on a different Asus ROG motherboard, and the problem persisted. I tried all of the PCI-E slots on each motherboard, still nothing. I even borrowed a friends CPU (i7-4790k) and GPU (GTX 1070ti) and it still didn't work on either motherboard. I also have tried a brand new PCI-E cable and still nothing. So, did I just get a lemon PSU or is there something else wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  2. I've been trying to record it on my phone for the past 40 minutes, but it's proving difficult to make the problem show up again. I can make a sort of mockup in photoshop as an example, but as you said it's probably nothing to worry about, just odd. Also I like that G5 setup you have, those big aluminum towers are great looking.
  3. It happens when I'm using the computer normally. I'll try to capture it.
  4. Hey guys, I'm currently using a 2018 13 inch Touch-bar MacBook Pro, about 2 months old, and I'm getting some weird display issues. (Regretting purchase in 3... 2... 1...) I'll be using Google Chrome and occasionally there will be a big white/red/black line that comes across the screen horizontally in no specific place, just boom its there, then maybe a quarter of a second later it's gone, happening every 15-30 minutes of use. Inside of the white line it looks like gray and white tiles, kind of like a transparent background texture in Photoshop and it'll effect about 1/8th of the screen. When the line decides it's gonna be black there is a slight outline that is about 2 pixels that is red. It's happened about 30 times now, and I was wondering if thats a hardware or software issue. Currently running Chrome with Hardware Acceleration OFF and the system is running Mojave 10.14.4. Sometimes this issue will occur in other applications, but I'm using Chrome most of the time so that's when I really notice it. Thanks for any help and for reading! Apple is a great company with no flaws in design or performance of their machines.
  5. Hey all, Thanks for all of your replies and advice. I went ahead and bought a Coolermaster Masterwatt 550 and hooked everything up and Voila! Same problem. I'm going to assume it's a bad Mobo now... RIP... anyone know any good deals on any LGA 1150 motherboards? Or is it worth it just to buy something newer at this point?
  6. Just tried this, same thing as before... Bad motherboard?
  7. Hey all, Any help would be appreciated in diagnosing my PC, specs are as follows: CPU: Intel i5-4690k CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i GPU: Gigabyte Windforce GTX 970 PSU: Corsair CX750M RAM: G Skill Sniper DDR3-1866 16GB Motherboard: Asus Z97-A USB 3.1 HDD: 120GB OCZ SSD and 1TB WD Black HDD Build Completed: May 2015 Basically it's stuck in a loop when the power button is first pushed, it will turn on, as in fans will start spinning, and then it shuts itself off, then it turns back on again, and then off, it's a vicious cycle. It does this constantly until I shut off the PSU using the switch. There are 2 LED lights on the motherboard that light up when I boot, one green and one orange. I have tried reseating the RAM, I've tested the PSU using the grounding method and the fan will stay on, reset CMOS, and reconnected all wires, to no avail. I feel like it's the motherboard, but I wanted to get some third party opinions on the matter before I buy a new Motherboard or PSU. Maybe the build decided to celebrate its 4th birthday by crapping out on me. Again, any input or help would be greatly appreciated.
