  1. Hi, I've been having this problem for probably a year now. Seemingly whenever I reboot my computer, my SSD tends to spike to 100% for 30 seconds, freezing all my applications along with it. It tends to happen every 15-30 minutes, but it usually happens when I'm loading a webpage or program, and it happens a lot with google maps for some reason. I've replaced this SSD with a completely different brand one, since the older one was about 5 years old, and the problem still remains. It happens in safemode as well. Searching with previous posts, it does seem to be a Windows 10 problem, however I did have the same issue occur in Windows 7. Thanks.
  2. I've been troubleshooting this build for the past two days, and can't seem to be able to fix it. I have a A10-7860k paired with a Gigabyte GA-F2A88XN-WIFI, and I can't seem to get a video signal when I plug the monitor into the motherboard. At first I thought this was just an outdated bios, and just needed to be updated. But when I plugged in a gpu, which did display, I found that it was running the latest bios, F6. Do I just need to run the GPU to install windows and be able to install drivers for it to properly display video on the motherboard, or is it a broken port? I've tried all 3 ports, 2 HDMI and 1 DVI, all with no luck. Thank you for the help!
  3. So I have the Cm Storm Quickmaster Tk with the blues for almost 2 years now, and I've been pretty happy with it. That is, until, this evening I discovered my up arrow key does not give out the clicky sound as the others do. It has been really annoying me and distracting me while playing games that use that button. It just feels wrong. Is there an easy way to fix? Or is it totaled and I'll just have to get used to it
  4. Hello! So I've had this Dell 20'' monitor for 2 years now, and I've recently been noticing some issues The main issue I have is that is shows these green dots, about as small as a pixel, that some what "dance" in a sense, they blink about every second, and it's quite annoying. Switched different ports, and the issue is still there. I have another monitor, hooked up as hdmi, and it shows no issue, so most likely not a video card issue Any ideas on what my be causing this issue? Also, the monitor showing issues is connected by DVI I goofed up, wrong catagory
  5. Named my user after a popular ice cream company in America, Dippin' Dots Added a 'z' to make it look cooler, IMO.
  6. So I went to microcenter today and picked up a Coolermaster seidon, a liquid cooler. This would be an upgrade from my stock cooler that came with my fx 6300 But I've noticed that my temps are pretty bad. I think I would get about 50 degrees, in July, with a game open and bunch of other programs on my stock, but with only netflix and steam open on my liquid, it sometimes peaks at 70 degrees, and usually stands about 50-60. Idle is pretty fine though, I get about 20 degrees. Is there any reason why the temperature is so high? Also, here are my specs (cpu cooler is in here, here it is if you were curious http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rls12v24pkr1 PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($109.00) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($80.00) Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($42.00) Storage: Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($110.00) Storage: Hitachi 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($50.00) Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon R9 270 2GB WINDFORCE Video Card ($180.00) Case: Cooler Master Storm Scout 2 ATX Mid Tower Case ($70.00) Power Supply: XFX 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($25.00) Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer ($12.00) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($67.00) Keyboard: Cooler Master Storm QuickFire Rapid Wired Gaming Keyboard ($75.00) Total: $820.00 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-10-13 01:23 EDT-0400
  7. Looking for some ideas for what to do with a $50 amazon giftcard. My specs are on my profile, in case there was something I should upgrade. Might want something to decorate my setup or something like that Thanks for the feedback!
  8. Complete set of the Calvin and Hobbes books.
  9. Love your videos Linus, congrats on a million! Your community is pretty badass. Not only from here on the forum, butt especially on the WAN show comments, those guys are hilarious! You really helped when I was deciding parts for my pc, I had a reassurance when I saw you did a video.
  10. So occasionally, chrome just stops load pages, stops buffering, and then it freezes or something. I can move my mouse, but everything somewhat freezes. I tried Explorer, and it didn't have that issue. I updated java, and the problem still occurred. Any ideas on what is causing this?
  11. So do I need to worry about anything?
  12. So I have a Gigabyte 970a-ds3p and a fx 6300. When I was changing a price on my pcpartpicker post, it said "Warning: These parts have potential issues/incompatibilities." So I went and checked what compatibility issues were there. What it said there was, "Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs." I have no idea what bios I have, so if someone would mind telling me how to get that, that would be helpful. How do I know I need an update?
  13. First off, I apologize if I put this in the wrong place. I didn't know where else to put it. So I want to sell my 630 so I can buy a couple things for my pc. I got my r9 270, and it came with an antistatic bag. Could I still use that to put the 630 in for shipping?
  14. Nevermind, getting R9 270.
